  • I needed to run a sticker job for Spencer, so I thought I'd print the same job on the HP latex 315 as well as the Canon Colorado 1630. Spencer thinks both look good, but he did pick a winner.

    I can’t complain about my HP ( I know you aren’t either) it’s been a solid workhorse for our shop.

    Definitely more detail in the Colorado print, no doubt. I assume you can cut/finish jobs immediately off press because it’s UV, correct?

    • @ttms
      @ttms  Před 7 měsíci

      Yes. You can cut as soon as it's off the printer. I need to get the workflow dialed in, but I do like it better. Still happy I started with the HP though.

      @@ttms Shoot, just set the HP up with banner material only and leave it for that one purpose. Banners were always easy on our 365.

      @miketheprintman that was the plan before the move. I've now sold it. They're picking it up this week.

    Humm very nice, so if your allergic to latex can u work with a latex printer or not sure how that all works. Just starting out myself and sofar just have a few small Epson units and bought a used DCS 1024UV flatbed but been too busy with my day job to even read the manual yet lol

    • @ttms

      Latex basically means it's a water based ink. The coloring is in water and the heating unit evaporates the water leaving only the ink. Most paint these days is latex/water based so I'd guess if you can touch paint, you should be fine. It has safety certifications you can look up to see.

      @@ttms awesome thanks, I never even thought of regular latex paint and I know it's fine from painting the house lol 😆

    Hp all the way, especially the next generation 700 or 800 machine with white ink. Faster, higher quality, instantly dry and cut straight off the machine plus more eco-friendly. When did you last colour calibrate the media on hp?

      The Colorado is also instantly dry and cured……

      Nope, got rid of our 800w along with our white work and endless headaches....Colorado 1650 changed our lives. The whole start up timing thing isn’t an issue if you’re printing roll after roll. These things are FAST and produce stunning prints!!

    I researched the Colorado and for our volume it don’t make sense to pay for it

      @@ttms that’s why I stuck with the 700w. I wish I had the time to make videos and share what I learned about it. A lot of little gotchas that if you don’t know can frustrate you .

    production wise i'd definitely go with the hp latex much simplified workflow especially when peer with flexi and summa cutter, definitely unbeatable, i wont quite compare both quality though i'd more go for the latest gen Hp latex which provides better quality overall.

      If Color consistency and image stability are key factors, then Colorado is the right choice. Not to mention speed, versatility, ease of use are all factors where the Colorado shines. If you pair the Colorado with Onyx Thrive workflow, you have a seamless workflow with a vast range of offline flatbed & roll cutters.

    I knew which was the HP off the bat... Uv just does not have the color gamut that latex does ...
