Corporate also claim depreciation on the leased car-so that's another benefit apart from employee retention. In fact, depreciation helps them to reduce tax so that's the key benefit more than employee retention.

I am working for a MNC & bought 3 + cars in lease. Advantage : Save income Tax + petrol fuel reimbursement. Disadvantage: Residual value is 17-22% for lease period of 2/3/4 year. GST & road tax has to paid or returned if employees leave company in between. If no buyer, need to sell at less value. 5% Residual value is mouth water & loss to lease company 😊. No open gives this. Pls tell the name of lease company in next video.

There is a provision to lease your own car to ur company where u r working. There is a savings in tax in this scheme too.... the car should not beyond 01 year old...
The scheme of operating lease via a 3rd party was beneficial when there was the vat tax structure. Not very beneficial post GST structure...
At the end of the tenure, the MRV - market residual value is decided by their own set of bidders, which is always less.
There is this FRV fixed residual value scheme of 25% of invoice value, but u end up paying a higher emi.

@birlas parvai- The benefit for employer (corporate) is many. Since vehicle is registered in their name they show the vehicle as fixed asset in their books. Every year depreciation they can show as expenses to reduce tax. Similarly the interest part of lease paid to leasing company can also shown as expenses. This will reduce their profit amount and increase tax savings.
For people doing business, they can take regular car loan in company name name and avail same benefit as corporate.
