This guy’s memory is astonishing! They just don’t make them like this anymore. A really tough who has lived both the best and worse in life! Someone who when he tells a story everyone will listen.

This man is as clued up today as he was back in the day ! What a character, while I don’t condone what he did, there’s a real honesty in his bones ………. What a strong mind he must have ! Fantastic interview Shaun 👏🏽
Wow, so glad I am found this channel today! What a man, could listen to this all day long. Life threw him a bad hand, yet here he is captivating audiences and we're all listening. He is one strong guy, made of strong stuff and what a memory! No flies on him is there. He may have been a rogue, but you can't help but feel drawn in by John. Love how people can turn their lives around. Not like it these days.
John Hilton. One of the greatest armed robbers this country has ever seen. A decent man. A man whose upstanding nature seen him through to his ninety three years.
A man who has led a fascinating life. Wonderful stories and extraordinary encounters. Like most of your listeners, I could watch him all day long.

Who murdered innocent people
My grandmother was born in Tottenham 1912 she studied at Edinburgh University and met my grandfather there.
He worked for Napier designing aircrafts and engines in Chiswick.
My grandmother working for Westminster Bank in the City of London and she worked as a Mossad agent.
She told myself my brother and Sister in her later year's showing us correspondence too.
She lived in Lancaster Mews London.
My uncle champion schoolboy gymnast and top stuntman.
I know all about Saville and Mossad.

45 years in jail. fuck me I was 2 years old when he went in. Imagine going down 1976, and missing the 80s 90s and coming out to CCTV and mobile phones everywhere. It just an open prison society we live in.🤣🤣❤️
Yeah he's missed a crazy amount of time and his life with his freedom, it would have been like a completely different world after all that time away. In 1998 I got a year in jail, one and only time I've been to prison, it was more than enough for me that was, there's nothing more precious than our time its more valuable than any amount of money.

Sounds like John knew every classic villain. Could you please ask him if he new my great uncle George 'Taters' Chatham. He was a famous robber who was in the gang that did the East Castle Street robbery. And I think he missed out on the great train robbery due to being in Wanno.

He saved and brought me through a whole lot, and He can bring you, too.
that was brilliant ...from start to finish ..his story had me totally captive ..bit about buryin his pal well if i was his pal i'd of wanted him to bury me rather than cause him any trouble..thats what mates do ...... then that last 20 mins from the train robbers onwards was gold ......cannot express how good that was & cant wait to hear more from this guy ...& john you have a great day too ..absolute treat ..

@ Shaun attwood my old man was with John in Lewes where they was gym orderlies together. My Oldman tried numerous times to contact John when he got home but the home office wouldn't sanction it. Not gonna name names here but if John remembers who I'm talking about and would like a letter or two drop me a message Shaun.
A stone cold villain who is fascinating to listen to. I would have freaked and drove my friend to the hospital but I'm definitely no gangster and dont understand the life. Amazing story he's so youthful for his age! Proper old school villain great to listen to. Thanks for letting these guys tell tbeir story.

Absolutely top man ! 93 years old and remarkable recollection and memory . Still got all his morals and Is pure old school villain . A lot of the younger generation should watch this and take note. Having said that the younger generation couldn’t cope with 45 years behind the wall. John is a legend . I know how hard it is doing g long sentence as I’ve done 37 years of a life sentence too so know what I’m talking about . This guy is 100% . Respect to him and best of luck for the future .

I listened to this awesome gents story, and recognised the part he mentioned about "barracade in the church, read files, called newspapers, etc" and instantly realised it was exact story played out in the film McVicar! Others who have seen the film will verify that. So was John Hilton part of that film or did mcvicar nick Hilton's past story for the film? Or is it just a coincidence, I'm curious lol. Enjoyed this one Shaun mate :) the older gentlemen have the best memories and character.

Brilliant what a genuine old skool londoner. They are far a few between nowadays. Born and breed in Islington myself I can really relate to his way of story telling. Great podcast and for 96 still wits intact and looks healthy great to see.. 👍
I make him 92/93 if he was 17 in 1947 at borstal, either way he looks and sounds good I think prison preserves people physically, mentally though they can crumble not in the case of this geezer
