    Crazy, turned a 20 minute job into a 1 hr job. Remove front plastic cover then you have access to 2 21mm main bolts on each side and you need to remove the lower 21mm on back, disconnect fog light and harness then remove bumper. That simple.

      I was asking myself this question the whole time, kept waiting to see the critical part I missed that would require all this... the grill was the real reason I was here though, so I can't be too annoyed 😆
      But I am thinking I will just drop the bumper after seeing all the clips etc (I just need to swap out that harness)

    Im pretty sure you can pull the center plastic piece off and access the bolts for the bumper. No need to remove grille, or all those trim pieces.

    I'm just here for the grill removal. Lightly hit a deer the other morning but it still cracked the frame of the grill and knocked down some of the louvers. Now I just need to order me a new one. Thanks for the tutorial.

    This definitely is the harder way to do it... all you have to do is remove the middle plastic piece on the bumper and you can access the bolts to take it off. I already did a bumper swap and that's all I did.... i was just here to figure out how to remove the grill

    Can you just pull the bumper by popping out the plastic pieces on the front and it’s 6 main bolts? Then it’s unplugging the harness for the fogs?

  • @wes1424
    @wes1424 Před 3 lety +1

    Who told you that you have to take the grille and all the other parts off, because you don't need to. I have a 16 and all you need to take off is the bumper grille to access
    the 2 outer nuts and 1 on the back. Disconnect fogs if you have them and 3 plastic push pins on top of bumper.

    Did you cut the outer crash bars off to get clearance for the larger tires ? They look a little shorter then normal ?

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  Před 5 lety

      Yes, we did that during the lift kit installation. Almost every after market bumper that we've seen for the F-150 requires removal of the crash bars.

    • @thealmightytuna3239
      @thealmightytuna3239 Před 4 lety +1

      You can unbolt them once you remove the front bumper. No need to cut.

    Would This Be The Same Process For A 2016 F-150?

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  Před 6 lety +1

      Hey J_Diesel, we really can't say for sure, we'd recommend looking into it with Ford as we don't specialize in removal of all factory parts unless we are doing a build on that specific vehicle. Likely-hood is that it is similar!

    • @amorymartinez2662
      @amorymartinez2662 Před 5 lety +1

      First question you ask your self would be does my vehicle look identical? If you answered yes to this then the answer your looking for that you can answer yourself threw the process of common sense is yes!

    Any issue with air bags going off when removing the bumper??

    • @Realtruck
      @Realtruck  Před 6 lety

      We did not have an issue with the air bags on this factory removal, and typically you would not see an issue with the air bags deploying from removing the bumper.

    • @amorymartinez2662
      @amorymartinez2662 Před 5 lety +3

      John the crash sensors for the front are not located on the bumper. So therefore no to your question. If airbags go off when you do this then I would re-evaluate your life.
