    Now we need a top 5 best value (entry level)... I'm in my 30s, rent to own on a 5 acre plot of land that I plan to put a tow behind or tiny home on while I build my forever home. I'm looking at used rigs but they don't seem to be dropping in price yet, but I feel a crash is coming and then market value for these will be muuuuch cheaper.

    • @JoshtheRVNerd
      @JoshtheRVNerd  Před 2 lety +4

      MFG invoices aren't dropping. Dealers are offering better discounts, but they're not going to sell things at a loss obviously

    • @RichardCranium321
      @RichardCranium321 Před 2 lety +5

      @@JoshtheRVNerd I'm talking about the prices in the used market... I don't expect manufacturers and dealers to take a loss, that'd be a pretty crappy business model, I just know how much raw materials have increased vs spare spending $ decreasing and I thought inflation combined with market demand for new units would've driven prices down on used.
      I guess everyone had the same thought as me and are wanting a cheaper used unit that's half ton towable

    • @dinospumoni8860
      @dinospumoni8860 Před 2 lety +2

      Used prices are a reflection of the new market. I hate to say it but I think with inflation these prices are the new norm. When I got my 2021 alpha wolf I was able to lock in a stellar deal when ordering in October. Msrp 42k got it for 26k. In talking with local dealers found out dealer price for that model was 24k. Now in 2022 the same model best off people are giving is 36k. 10k more cost in just 1 year. Which also means a used one is gonna cost you 5-8k more now depending on condition. And since new prices aren’t gonna go down, used won’t either. Because of the crazy inflation we have had used prices got a reset and now will depreciate based on that permanent increase.

      Richard, Good for You! Good to see another dude working hard at a young age. Having your own land at such a young age is commendable. Keep it forever and buy an acre a year if you can. Now if you looking for an affordable truck see if you can hook up with a used car dealer in the Florida area and try and get one directly from a dealer auction. It will be all cash and you may have to give the dealer a couple hundred to get you in but you'll be able to get a great truck at a decent price. Good luck brother. Ride life till the wheels fall off💪

    I think you have covered some of this info, but it would be great to see a video that covers "overlanding" trailers capable of boodocking that can be towed by a mid-size (Tacoma). I'm not talking about the "extreme" overlanding trailers like BRX Trailers or Black Series. I mean more mainstream trailers with bathroom, full-size queen, 4-season... that are capable of some off roading.

    You made a video of a Rockwood 2204S which would fit in this video perfectly as a couples camper we purchased a used 2022 model. This has plenty-o-storage, a twin/king bed option, one slide with u-dinette (recliners were an option for this model, I think) two axles and weighs in under your 5,000 lbs capacity. 1. 20rdse which I said in another vid

    Thanks for doing this video, Josh! I’ve been trying to determine how my family could transition from a tent trailer/pop up to a travel trailer without replacing the SUV, which maxes out at a tow capacity around 5,500, if I recall correctly. You’ve given me some nice options to
    consider. Right now, I’m leaning toward bunkhouses, but the hybrid may be the right compromise.

      Those are an offshoot of the Dutchman aspen trail series that is exclusive to the Camping World stores. As a result I don’t get a lot of chance to put hands on them. They’re intentionally built for an incredibly aggressive price point which means things like an electric heater and no traditional propane furnace. I’m not knocking them though. That doesn’t make those bad features or a bad RV. If you’re looking for something lighter in duty for a lower price point, then they make sense.
