I like the front design on both, but the rest, I’ll rather chose GV80 which will probably last longer too and cheaper Maintainance

The Genesis will have much less reliability issues then the Benz. That is reason enough to choose the GV80
Having owned a number of Mercedes, I can tell you that you have it backwards. Genesis will be MUCH MORE RELIABLE THAN THE MERCEDES!

SL500, 2003 SL55, and 2016 AMG GTS were all loaded with problems. Six Corvettes latter, they have been incredibly reliable (did need trans in my 2006 after 50k but outside of that problems almost non-existent. I'll take my multi car experience as a much more accurate picture. If Mercedes were so reliable why do they depreciate like a rock the minute you drive off the lot? Because people know that once warranty expires it gets real expensive. Probably why Mercedes options multi-year warranty service (basically an oil change first two years for @$400-$500/yr. People probably buy them because they know even normal maintenance is very expensive.

I am a simple person I choose GLE more beautiful I do like the genesis however but the GLE has always been a dream suv for me

I went from Mercedes to Genesis GV80. I love the GV80. It has a lot of bells and whistles, comfy throughout! I also love the maintenance package, and they’ll come get the my GV80 and leave me one if I need it!
Nice review! I’d rather drive the gv80 to be different and overall it looks better to me.
GV80 has a much luxury look design that I like and better luxury seat design. The seat design in the Benz is cheap looking even though the front dash of the Benz looks better. But overall I would go with the GV80 hands down and sure about 10-15K cheaper

The GV80 has a uniqueness to it however with benz you get way more power and performance. Can't go wrong but huge applause to Genesis. The GV70 looks really good.

When the Mercedes breaks down it will bankrupt you. Genesis has much longer warranty and better built.

I love my GLE 450. Such a smooth ride. No problems. Just the seat pleather has a tear in it and is fixed under warranty.

Do against the X5, I will be cross shopping them. Seems like the GLE has more headroom in the back and more cargo room, excellent video!
Also the GLE seems much taller compared to the GV80, I'm noticing this now

Nice video Mr. Gang! These are my two favorites in this class. Maybe for future videos, you should include the prices. The GLE is a lot more expensive than the GV80.
I just purchased a gv80 and I like it more than any other car most German cars are performance if you get a top of the line X5 what you getting is a racing car not a luxury car...GV80 beautiful luxury vehicle..
GV80 should've had some wood across the dash like G80, and maybe a hybrid option, other than that, GV80 over GLE.
I love your honest opinion on these two great vehicles. HOWEVER,.,,, I have owned both SUVs and there simply is no Comparision between the comfort of rides, the gle is much much smother. ive taken both on long trips 600 miles to 2100 miles

In comparing ride based on the amount the driver is moving/jiggling on the driver seat, it appears the Mercedes GLE is smoother.
Not a fair comparison…all the luxuries of the Mercedes were not pointed out, beautiful amber lighting, hey Mercedes functions, AMG package and sport/blackout packages, running boards with lights, Mercedes emblem reflective on the ground when doors are opened…beautiful at night, etc. Compared a basic Mercedes to a well equipped GV80. Just the looks and classy style of owning a Mercedes puts it into a class by itself. I’ve owned 6 Mercedes,(SUV’s and Sedan, S Class)…so much luxury and tech, can’t list all. Will never want a cheaper looking Genesis over the luxurious Mercedes Benz! This started out favoring the GV80. If the Mercedes is going to be reviewed, it should be by someone that knows all the comfort and luxury details!
The Genesis has my vote. I am thinking very seriously about purchasing the 2022, I am hoping they'll be a hybrid.
Sadly genesis said they wont do hybrids and go just straight for the EV

The genesis is intended to go after the luxury buyer the one’s that prioritise comfort
The Mercedes is towards a sporty buyer.
I prefer the genesis over the Mercedes.

I actually like that part the spoiler makes it loos good. The Mercedes looks to soccer mom-ish after walk from the front to the side

I'd take the GLE providing it's leased so I can hand it back after 3 or 4 years but the GV80 I would actually own long term probably have Lexus reliability

GV80 should have added air suspension and rear wheel steering and a more powerful Engine option to compete with 63 amg, X5m, RSQ8, RR Sport SVR, it's such an odd omission considering it's competitors have them. Also Genesis should have added more ambient lighting, otherwise great review

Genesis seats from Bentley and its so smooth and supportive ... Mercedes seats like you sets in a wooden chare in 80s school .

I have to say unless you get the gle 63, the seat in Mercedez feels cheap and looks pretty generic, while GV80 seat is beautiful, especially for the price. Comfort wise, it's about the same. I haven't had a chance to own them both for long enough to know. So stop calling people stupid. Counter their points with your point.

Mercedes has the most impressive ambient lighting in their cars but I think it can be a bit distracting while driving. My 2 cents

To be honest, if I have the money to buy one the luxury cars in the market, I'd spend a bit more on Merc. Not to say Hyundai is not good, power-wise Hyundai is better, but this Hyundai exterior design looks unfinished and a bit bland and looks just kinda cheap...not as refined and detail as the Merc. I think of Hyundai can spend more time to come up with some great design I might consider buy one one day.

Ironically gv80 was designed by the same designer of Bentley so you actually get a more luxurious, classic design.

Average consumption 15km/l ??? Good joke 😅 It is 6,666 l/100km. I believe that double this number will be realistic. Anyway GV80 is really stunning car. Sadly not for Europe. Here we have expensive fuel and tragic 1.0L 3 cylinders with plug-in hybrid technology 😕

I love Mercedes Benz but this GV80 blows this Benz away without a doubt this GV80 truck should have been matched with a Audi ,Lincoln Navigator or Cadillac Escalade truck this matchup to me was not a good matchup for GV80

Lmao. I own a Genesis GV80 and although I love it.... it does not compare to a Mercedes. Compare it to Lexus, Acura and Infinity if you want a fair comparison..... and it annihilates those brands.

@@rahimi4762 I have not seen the new MDX model as of yet so I can’t comment on that. It kills the previous MDX though and the GV comes with a timing chain vs the dreaded belt in the MDX. Yes, they still use a belt on the new gen of MDX.
@@rahimi4762 stopped in at Acura today to check out the new MDX in an Aspec trim.... it’s a vast improvement over the previous model but the GV80 still has it beat bud. From the interior to the soft-close doors to the 75 more ponies under the hood. I would place the new MDX above equal offerings from Lexus and Infinity though.

IMHO this & every Mercedes model of "late" is ugly & already looks outdated. I get that they're trying to make their own identity in the Market & that, they do. While the GV80 was designed by a guy who formerly worked for Bentley, the Merc looks too similar to some Mitsubishi entries I've seen lately. It's Ugly!
That fancy suspension gimmickry in the Mercedes will be the first thing to break after Warranty. $5,000 right off the bat!

The gle is actually a proper capable car off road, better than the land cruiser. The x5 and x7 have also upped their game to the point toyota is pointless
