  • @wolfiealternateaccount4181
    @wolfiealternateaccount4181 Před 10 měsíci +1

    I have the Max G2 and I agree it is a fabulous scooter. I also have a Max 30 and after riding the G2 with suspension I decided to upgrad the 30 with Monorim suspension front and rear.
    Now it is a tough call which one I prefer. The Max 30 with Monorim suspension is definitely smoother over bumps. It feels a bit zippier with my 82 kg. Both seem equal on hill climbs. So I have to say i prefer riding the Max 30 because the monorim suspensiion is silky smooth.
    If you take away that suspension the G2 is the hands down winner. The ride is beautiful too

    • @EthanClansky
      @EthanClansky  Před 10 měsíci

      That's cool. How easy was it to upgrade the suspension?

    • @wolfiealternateaccount4181

      @@EthanClansky They have really good installation videos and I watched them a number of times before the parts arrived. The rear suspension took about an hour. It was the easiest one. They provided a different rear light but I didn't like that so i wired up the original one with an extension. That took another hour but I was happy having the correct rea brake light.
      The front was fairly easy too. It took a little longer but that was just because I didn't prepare and have the scooter set up on a stand. I was able to improve the front one slightly with an aiddiitonal washer which stopped one of the bolts from having 1 mm of free play. The result is fabulous. Really nice suspension.
      One minus was the rear suspension squeaked a bit going over bumps. i was able to fix this with lithium grease sprayed into the spring and the mounting bolts of the rear shock absorber. It is all super smooth and silent now.

    Great test! As you drove both P100 and Max G2, you already cover about better handling smoother ride (lighter and more enjoyable if I understood it correctly) how about acceleration and braking ? Is the P100 accelerating really faster ? Is braking as good ? Of course the P100 top speed is higher but my question is really about acceleration (safer to accelerate quickly at traffic lights). Thanks !

    • @EthanClansky
      @EthanClansky  Před 11 měsíci +5

      The p100 is hands down faster and accelerates much harder but overall I still prefer the G2 because it s much lighter and nimble also easier to take on public transportation or put in tighter spaces for storage. The G2 has very good engine braking but it would still be preferable to include disc brakes also to the single drum

But i was amazed with the quality, it was rode by a 100 kg rider so to the maximum G30 alloed rider wieght. The folding mecanism was alsmot like new and no squiqs like the old m365.
    Altho i don't know why the rear wheel was...deformed ( maybe a high speed bump that damaged the tyre ) so it was not very comfy.

    How does the G2 compare to the p100s in your opinion? I recently purchased both. I’ve been riding all over Kirkland with my wife the last two weeks. Obviously, the p100s has more speed/acceleration and better lighting, but I prefer the G2 suspension over the p100s. I also find the stem of the p100s has more play/wobble and the p100s makes more rattle/creaking noises. Have you noticed stem flex/wobble, stiff suspension, and suspension noise on the P100s?

    • @EthanClansky
      @EthanClansky  Před 11 měsíci +4

      That's pretty accurate with what I've experienced the p100 does have some creaking in the stem when certain bolts start to loosen up. I also prefer the G2 suspension over the spring type of the p100 which doesn't dampen as much however the G2 bottoms out to suspension when going over pumps and makes it loud pop noise in my experience. Overall The G2 is still a better daily ride and doesn't have the annoying issue with the rear brake rubbing like the p100 does

    The G30 has ABS for the electronic brake only, while the G2 has traction control and ABS. There is a big difference in tires between the two, both are 10” and both do have sealing tires, but the G2 has lower rolling resistance tires to reduce friction and heat, thats how they got more range out of the G2 despite the extra weight. So now if anyone needs new tires for their max G30, just buy max G2 tires, they are exactly the same, and will offer better performance and give you a bit more range.

      @@EthanClansky There seems to be two rear suspension problems posted in various forums, both of which I had on my now 1 month old ~500km G2;
      1) The last screw for the metal inner guard breaks off inside the plastic guard (behind the brake light) and the metal bangs/rattles against the plastic over every big bump. Fixed with glue or a new/better screw.
      2) The bottom bushings on the rear springs are a little too big and so the rear wheel has free play as it leaves the ground - every time it hits the ground again it make a clunking noise. This can be tested by simply picking up the rear until it is nearly off the ground and hearing the clunk, and noticing where the free play is. I haven't fixed this yet but assume I need new bushings. It was like this from new.
