      @@jed_91 Did u know that those same Māori also fought against the British?!? Māori back in those days were not united. As such many sided with the British to fight traditional enemies. They had previously or would go onto fight the British themselves. Did u know that despite being divided into warring tribes the Māori were never defeated by the British?!? In fact it was dumb luck the white people ended up with all the land. The Māori only agreed to meager settlements because they had been devastated by diseases for which they had no immunity to. Look at covid 19. Now imagine many covids happening at once.

    Have literally never seen the Aboriginal war dance before. Had to watch that like 3 times over, that was amazing. Really cool to see these two cultures having so much respect for eachother. A reminder that the world is so diverse and beautiful.

      Aboriginal war dance is not part of traditional culture but a piece of dance theatre - they had no war dance or smoking and welcome to country which is another piece of theatre by Ernie Dingo from the late 1970's

      We are so behind NZ. Just read comments and look at the racism over Welcome to country in Australia over the Māori culture. No one complains about the Haka but Aussies have a terribly negative attitude to Aboriginal people, deeply embedded in the nations psyche from the white Australia policy. It's an ugly racist nation

      That gesture is known as a hongi. Two people touch noses, exhaling and inhaling while doing so. That way, each breathes the air that has been inside the other. This creates and demonstrates a connection between them.

    Wow, this is amazing, as a Kiwi who lived for a short time in Townsville, to see the cultural performances of the local Aboriginal tribes was wonderful. It’s not often our New Zealand teams get a challenge back. To see this at a game is fantastic.

      It was fuckin EPIC!!! The atmosphere was amazing! That whole stadium came together to watch a great game of footy and enjoy the cultural side. I’m hoping they bring it back to Townsville

    The sound the crowd made throughout the whole stadium when the Indigenous started their performance literally sent chills down my spine and made me cry!
    Especially after ⬛🟡🟥

    @8:26 is when the real power is shown. Nothing greater than respect among sporting rivals. I’m South African and wish we had such amazing moments, culture and respect among our local rugby teams ( not to say there isn’t, but nothing like this) Amazing performance by both teams!

      I'm not sure there are any other countries that have as many official languages as South Africa. Here in NZ we have 2 - Te Reo Māori and NZ Sign Language. You guys are waaay more cultured than you realise.

    Absolutely love the indigenous concept i believe we should be celebrating all indigenous cultures in a month of rugby league and celebrations, indulge the public with heritage from 8 indigenous sides instead of one night. The Maori, Indigenous, PNG, Tonga, Samoa, Fiji, Cook Islands and niue. Have all teams play at 1 stadium, open up stalls like arts and grafts, food and history lessons. Have the public indulge in a month of indigenous cultute

    I've seen this in sports, at schools, at weddings and at funerals. Each one is the same acticity but brings different emotions. Gonna try my best to do research into this, Love and Respect of Trinidad and Tobago 🇹🇹

    My God, I am nowhere near from where these 2 great nations are from but everytime I see The Haka performed it always bring tears to my eyes and a feeling I can't describe deep in my soul. Amazingly stunning

    I'm Scotish by genealogical research, but both of these hakas were nothing short of soul-stiring! The intensity from each had me on the edge of my seat, heart rate increasing, breath rate climbing and a wonderful surge of energy. Since they have ended in this video, I find my self relaxed and wanting to shut my eyes...guess the adrenaline has wore off and I'm crashing. Props to both Maori All Stars and Indigenous All Stars!

      @@alimantado373 my clan left the highlands shortly after Falkirk and Stirling. I've tried researching through Clan Chisholm but haven't gotten very far. My mom, God rest her soul, was the genealogist of our mini-clan, and unfortunately, her death was sudden and not much of a chance to properly learn about her findings.

    It has been months since something held my attention so intensely for so long. That was in incredible, I couldn’t peel my eyes from my phone, and I had goosebumps start to finish.     As a NZ Native I've watched football 🏈 & 🏉 rugby played for both for years . The beginning of this particular game was Absolutely Outstanding and the whistle hadn't been blown to start. Absolute Gold 🥇 Men . KIA KAHA

    Wow amazing it’s pretty damn hard to match the Maori haka, but the aboriginal war dance is pretty damn fierce. Well done gents incredible display! It’s good to see that we haven’t managed to lose our aboriginal culture, and that it is still with us today. Great to see that we’ve got something left that can be nurtured and passed on.

      you are aware there was never a traditional aboriginal war dance - was never part of traditional culture but was first done by a city based aboriginal dance group less than 20 years ago - the same applies to the smoking welcome to country ceremony which was a piece of theatre written by Ernie Dingo in the late 1970's
