The Birthright Annual Concert is a family-oriented concert celebrating the African cultural legacy through traditional and modern African drum, dance and theatre. The concert has been held in Washington, DC for the past 5 years and this will be its first annual instalment in Ghana.
The concert will take place on the 1st of March at the National Theatre and feature live performances from
Farafina Kan: The Sound of Africa (Washington DC),
    CrossRhodes (Washington DC)
    Ghana International School Ensemble
    Kwan Pa
    Dela Botri
The birthright concert is part of events slated for the Back2Africa Festival and Tour and “Year of Return”, a year-long calendar of activities in “celebration of the resilience of the African spirit” coordinated by Ghana Tourism Authority, under the auspices of the Ministry of Tourism, Arts and Culture
The 2019 Back2Africa Festival happens February 25 - March 8, 2019 and consists of a service project and performance stop in Kumasi, Cape Coast, and Accra featuring…The CrossRhodes, Black Alley Band and Farafina Kan.
The Back2Africa Festival is a partnership between The Adinkra Group and The Ghana Tourism Authority that celebrates Black History Month the last week of February through Ghanaian Independence Day in the first week of March with a focus on the arts, education and service. We connect African American and Ghanaian cultural art forms through live performances and educational service projects providing school supplies and resources for Ghanaian school children in the Akuapem Region.

Thank you so much for saying that. It means so much to me to hear that from a citizen of Ghana. We in the U.S. need some comfort and understanding. Living in the U.S. means our lives are filled with racism and discrimination. It's nice to know that we have a place of refuge in Ghana. I'm hoping to come in December - I'm going to kiss the ground and cry tears of joy.

Iam Ugandan living in USA and married to African American, but I know the pain these people feel as they search for their identity. All he wants is us to go back buy land and settle in Uganda .wen we was watching Akon's documentary of solar project back in his motherland, my husband's wish was that if every African American wld borrow alleaaf, pay attention to working together regarding locating their identity n celebrate to be back home. Africa is one of the most blessed continents on planet earth and their is great opportunity from its naturally resources. ..

So deep and emotional I can't stop crying. Finally our brothers and cousins are knowing the truth which has always be beat our hearts anytime we think about it. And which is more painful when instead of recognizing the wrong deeds they are covering it saying that our ancestors were sold by their own parents. Please this times are very emotional and historical for our brothers and sisters from the diaspora...And well done to the PRESIDENT OF GHANA , all our KINGS and all the members of all the organizations. And because this is emotional and historical for our brothers and sisters who have been waiting for the moment longtime and because they got
"the message". Humbly speaking please can we make around the castles and other place more safe for them? this places are memorial places. They are there to buy foods to eat or clothes to wear there. We are going to make them miss the message. We can build tourism side or market in the city where if they want they can go buy Africa clothes and foods( suggestion) and also avoid talking about economic impact in the city so that it will not seem to be the reason of our
" message".( of course it going to be economic impact) but....be wise our brothers are crying deeply.....thanks.
You are all welcome brothers and sisters of the diaspora as you can see this is the truth, people are truth and everything. It's not fake this is home your home. GOD bless you all we love you.

I think all black people in the diaspora owe thier ancestors this obligation to visit Africa, and make a connection. Imagine the souls of those who drowned in the ocean, toiled on the plantations, and hounded down by the adversary trying to escape,...... look down from heaven to finally see thier descendants step foot into where they should have been all along but for faith. I'm Nigerian and I support this message. Come home invest your potential, and feel free walking amongst your people. In other news please Southafrica stop with xenophobic attacks on other nationalities, there was no boundaries until the European powers decided to divide Africa for thier selfish interests.

This is great. Ni nzuri sana. Karibuni ndunga na kina dada Nyumbani Africa. I hope my African Latina people got the message. Infact we as Africans should arrange for a repatriation programme to help the African Latinos in Colombia, Mexico, Paraguay, Argentina back to Africa as a matter of urgency. I was in this places and I did like the severe racism towards our people. I lived in Taxco, Guerrero, near Iguala. There are Afro Mexicans in these areas all the way to Vera Cruz. In northern Colombia the situation was really bad with the war in their neighbourhood. The case in Brazil needs a different approach. The African people are a majority, about 54% , there problem is poverty and the self hate that has been incalculated in them. All is needed is awareness programs so that they can turn out and vote in large numbers. Then they will contro the policy making and formulation in Brasil. All the same Karibu wote Nyumbani. Kiswahili must be learned as our African and African diaspora continental language.
