The aircraft in the video was built in 1960 as J 35A and converted by SAAB in 1962 to SK 35C. That makes this plane 64 years old this year and still flying.
Incredibly advanced design, back in the 50's: half delta wings / half body lift. This was the first swedish jet fighter! That strange futuristic shape in the sky looks just like some 6th generation designs...
Such an aircraft with tail number 06, in the 80s of the last century, intercepted my Su 24 aircraft, over the Baltic Sea, at an altitude of 2700 meters. I think the interception was from the airfield of Cape Gotland, I took part in the exercises that were conducted then by the USSR

Draken is absolutely fantastic aircraft, beautiful ann sleekk i live it! Absolutely futuristic design. Modern aircrsfts and cars are boring, all tge same, no personality. This bird is unique and looks much better than any 5th gen boring airrcraft.
I hope that Sweden does not allow its aeronautical industry to be destroyed, as happened to the automotive industry, which is no longer Swedish and Saab disappeared.

It's hard to believe that the Draken first flew in 1955. Even now in 2024, it is a sleek, futuristic-looking jet fighter.
Yes, that's true. The design is timeless, like a Porsche 911 or Jaguar E-Type. :)

Not the first, the Saab 21R, Tunnan and Lansen all came shortly before it. But it's no less amazing for that, it was so far ahead of its time.
My favorite Aircraft design of all time. She looks like a 30's SciFi designed Spaceship with her round intakes and sleek lines. Perfection.
