To me it looked like Holmes, Campbell, Agnew and some of the scouts were kids while Shiela, rod and Spielman were like the parents. It really did have a family like atmosphere where you felt 100% comfortable

The first thing I noticed is that Bob Quinn couldn’t call the draft pick himself. He had one of his lackeys do it. Brad Holmes not only called the draft pick himself, you could feel the excitement from him and the new regime
Holmes called that pick in so quick that he got yelled at by the NFL because they wanted more suspense - but he didn't care and did it again the next year. He knows who he wants and doesn't need to play games.

When we were trying to be the mini Patriots in 2019 vs 2021 building to become the Detroit F’ing Lions. Quinn and Patricia were like leftover cold hamburger that someone stepped on and left on the counter for a few hours vs Holmes and MCDC who are like the greatest Filet you’ve ever tasted. Patricia took a team that was close to the playoffs, drove them into the ground and said it was the players’ fault and he wasn’t given enough talent. Campbell took a team with little talent and developed a culture and a foundation. One Pride. Let’s Go Lions!
Exactly! I do not understand why Matt Patricia had excuses for the regression of the Detroit Lions. You weren't given enough talent? Buddy, you squandered Matthew Stafford in his prime. You also had Darius Slay, Quandre Diggs, Glover Quin, Golden Tate, and others you could build around to make a possible Super Bowl contender. But instead you signed bums like Trey Flowers, LeGarrette Blount, a worn out Adrian Peterson, and other busts. Plus you drafted a tight end...in the first round. Literally the best thing to come out of their tenure was Frank Ragnow so I guess even a broken clock is right at least twice a day.

It’s boneheaded to draft a TE in a value position in the top 10 when your team has so many other issues. Unfortunately Quinn tried to fill in spots with Pats castoffs and drafted slow players like Tavai and Tabor, and neither worked. Then they drove off or got rid of good defensive players like Slay and Diggs. Holmes helped build a winner with LA and MCDC is a leader of men and has all sorts of connections from his time as a player and coach.
How do you think it made peneii feel to hear the coach and the GM in the background screaming with joy like little kids at the opportunity to have you on there team?!
Sewell became the best right tackle (or left tackle if needed) in the league and a first ballot HOF as soon as his name came out of Roger Goodell's mouth.
It was TJ Hockenson, our most proven returning offensive skill position player for the Lions, and nobody looked like they gave a care that we were getting him. Like they chose him by accident. Quinn said, "We didn't speak to you on purpose because we liked you." What is that? Middle school philosophy? He sounded like he was lying through his teeth. Then Patricia unconvincingly says "We got the right guy." There was no conviction in anything they said.
It kinda felt like Quinntricia were deadset on getting their guy, but the rest of the room were adamant about going in a different direction. And by the time they were on the clock, everyone else in that room had been beaten into submission. So much so that they couldn't even pretend to be excited about it. And the saddest thing is that Quinntricia weren't even convinced that it was the best pick. Sounds like Fatty P was still trying to convince himself that it was the right move like five minutes after the pick was turned in. I love Hock, but man this was brutal.

This is amazing to look at. After Holmes and Campbell took over for Quintricia (thank you Hamm!), see that there's no ties in that room? Top shirts mostly unbuttoned? Some actual emotion from the leaders? Words to the Sewell about just being who he is and playing like he has? Changes take time, but you can see the seeds there.
The fire, determination, and energetic enthusiasm hasn't changed one bit since that first draft pick that Holmes and Campbell made. They know who they want, and they get them. Without any doubt, they believe in their guys. Quinntrica had fear and hesitantancy in there pick. Even though Hock is a great player, there seemed to be still so much doubt and questioning in what they were doing.
In retrospect, it's a huge culture change. It's completely lifeless in the war room under Quinntricia because they're trying to be Bill Belichick and the Patriots but don't understand why something like this wouldn't work in Detroit. Quinn had to get somebody just to call TJ that he is getting drafted and saying "We haven't talked with you for a reason, but now is the time," crap. Plus it feels way too forced to celebrate and controlled. Patricia looks completely disinterested and tells TJ what he expects to hear. Once he hands the phone to Martha, just returns to the stiff atmosphere. The only person who looks to have any happiness is ironically Sheila. Move forward to 2021, Brad Holmes personally makes the call to Penei telling him they're picking him and is following up on their conversations. You see people cutting a jig and all smiles in the war room while Holmes congratulates Penei Sewell. Once he hands the phone to Dan Campbell, MC/DC talks exactly as if he's talking to another human being and you can tell how excited he is to have Penei on his team. After Campbell hands the phone to Sheila, Brad Holmes lets out all that excitement hugging all over Dan, Rod Wood, and everyone else.
At first, I didn't want to watch this garbage. But I'm glad you put this up here. Can't forget how bad it was. Make you appreciate this regime even more knowing that he built it from the studs up.
The one with Patrica and Quin makes me feel like a robot. No fun.. No good emotion.. Nothing that shows the fans and Detroit that this is a family that wants to grow together. It was bad from the start seeing as it split the locker room into a 50/50 house. Holmes and Campbell? Literally just seeing these guys makes my hair stand up. They don't even have to say anything and I already know that I'm going to love anything they do. Everyone can be themselves around them, and have fun. Ray Agnew is in the back getting fired up? That shows alone that they let it be an all for 1, and 1 for all atmosphere. We got the correct duo in here to turn this franchise around.

Sheila and Rod were there in both. Sheila was the only one showing emotion in the first. She was still being groomed as the successor so she was still trying to match the existing energy though her personality shone through. She put the perfect team around her and absolutely everything changed.

When we were trying to be the mini Patriots in 2019 vs 2021 building to become the Detroit F’ing Lions. Quinn and Patricia were like leftover cold hamburger that someone stepped on and left on the counter for a few hours vs Holmes and MCDC who are like the greatest Filet you’ve ever tasted. Patricia took a team that was close to the playoffs, drove them into the ground and said it was the players’ fault and he wasn’t given enough talent. Campbell took a team with little talent and developed a culture and a foundation. One Pride. Let’s Go Lions!
Exactly! I do not understand why Matt Patricia had excuses for the regression of the Detroit Lions. You weren't given enough talent? Buddy, you squandered Matthew Stafford in his prime. You also had Darius Slay, Quandre Diggs, Glover Quin, Golden Tate, and others you could build around to make a possible Super Bowl contender. But instead you signed bums like Trey Flowers, LeGarrette Blount, a worn out Adrian Peterson, and other busts. Plus you drafted a tight end...in the first round. Literally the best thing to come out of their tenure was Frank Ragnow so I guess even a broken clock is right at least twice a day.

It’s boneheaded to draft a TE in a value position in the top 10 when your team has so many other issues. Unfortunately Quinn tried to fill in spots with Pats castoffs and drafted slow players like Tavai and Tabor, and neither worked. Then they drove off or got rid of good defensive players like Slay and Diggs. Holmes helped build a winner with LA and MCDC is a leader of men and has all sorts of connections from his time as a player and coach.
How do you think it made peneii feel to hear the coach and the GM in the background screaming with joy like little kids at the opportunity to have you on there team?!
Sewell became the best right tackle (or left tackle if needed) in the league and a first ballot HOF as soon as his name came out of Roger Goodell's mouth.

It was TJ Hockenson, our most proven returning offensive skill position player for the Lions, and nobody looked like they gave a care that we were getting him. Like they chose him by accident. Quinn said, "We didn't speak to you on purpose because we liked you." What is that? Middle school philosophy? He sounded like he was lying through his teeth. Then Patricia unconvincingly says "We got the right guy." There was no conviction in anything they said.
It kinda felt like Quinntricia were deadset on getting their guy, but the rest of the room were adamant about going in a different direction. And by the time they were on the clock, everyone else in that room had been beaten into submission. So much so that they couldn't even pretend to be excited about it.
And the saddest thing is that Quinntricia weren't even convinced that it was the best pick. Sounds like Fatty P was still trying to convince himself that it was the right move like five minutes after the pick was turned in. I love Hock, but man this was brutal.

Also, remember that Martha reached out to well-respected GM Ernie Acorsi and he was the one who recommended the hiring of Quinn and Patricia so this idea that Martha didn't give a fuck when she hired a well-respected former GM to help with the hiring process (exactly what people are giving Sheila credit for with Chris Spielman) is in my opinion unfair to say that she didn't give give a fuck. The fire, determination, and energetic enthusiasm hasn't changed one bit since that first draft pick that Holmes and Campbell made. They know who they want, and they get them. Without any doubt, they believe in their guys.

In retrospect, it's a huge culture change. It's completely lifeless in the war room under Quinntricia because they're trying to be Bill Belichick and the Patriots but don't understand why something like this wouldn't work in Detroit. Quinn had to get somebody just to call TJ that he is getting drafted and saying "We haven't talked with you for a reason, but now is the time," crap. Plus it feels way too forced to celebrate and controlled. Patricia looks completely disinterested and tells TJ what he expects to hear. Once he hands the phone to Martha, just returns to the stiff atmosphere. The only person who looks to have any happiness is ironically Sheila.
Move forward to 2021, Brad Holmes personally makes the call to Penei telling him they're picking him and is following up on their conversations. You see people cutting a jig and all smiles in the war room while Holmes congratulates Penei Sewell. Once he hands the phone to Dan Campbell, MC/DC talks exactly as if he's talking to another human being and you can tell how excited he is to have Penei on his team. After Campbell hands the phone to Sheila, Brad Holmes lets out all that excitement hugging all over Dan, Rod Wood, and everyone else.
At first, I didn't want to watch this garbage. But I'm glad you put this up here. Can't forget how bad it was. Make you appreciate this regime even more knowing that he built it from the studs up.
A family culture compared to a culture of egos and excuses
The one with Patrica and Quin makes me feel like a robot. No fun.. No good emotion.. Nothing that shows the fans and Detroit that this is a family that wants to grow together. It was bad from the start seeing as it split the locker room into a 50/50 house.
Holmes and Campbell? Literally just seeing these guys makes my hair stand up. They don't even have to say anything and I already know that I'm going to love anything they do. Everyone can be themselves around them, and have fun. Ray Agnew is in the back getting fired up? That shows alone that they let it be an all for 1, and 1 for all atmosphere.
We got the correct duo in here to turn this franchise around.

Sheila and Rod were there in both. Sheila was the only one showing emotion in the first. She was still being groomed as the successor so she was still trying to match the existing energy though her personality shone through. She put the perfect team around her and absolutely everything changed.
