- In this video I take the 2021 ScottieDTV You Can't Cancel Cool Road Tour to the National Corvette Museum in Bowling Green KY....I had been meaning to get to the National Corvette Museum for some time now...I really wanted to get there when they announced that they would be hosting the Ed "Big Daddy" Rother display...COVID happened and it got put on the back burner...Then they announced that the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth display would be held over through April 2021...A call to Will over at Big Oak Garage...He does a podcast with one of the "Big Wigs" over at the National Corvette Museum and He had Me in like Flynn..And let me say...The staff of the National Corvette Museum are some very nice well informed people...I really enjoyed my visit...This video is a general walk through of the Ed "Big Daddy" Roth display...Ed's influence is part of so much of custom car history.. He is credited with being the first to advertise on a t-shirt...Now car show t-shirts are a staple souvenir at car shows all over the world...There are several of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth custom creations displayed here..But there is also a bunch of Ed's artwork...The advertisements from the Revell models he inspired...Just a ton a custom car and truck history...I really enjoyed my visit..Check it out!!!

Ed “Big Daddy” Roth’s custom cars brings so much nostalgia. They are from the pioneer days of hot rods, custom cars, and drag racing. Even for a guy like me who wasn’t born during that era, this is pure nostalgia. For those who grew up liking cars at that time, this must bring a lot of fond memories. Thanks for sharing, Scottie.

I am the Curator of this exhibit, and I am so glad that you enjoyed it. As a Roth fan as a kid, it was a dream come true to be able to put this together for you and so many others to enjoy. You are correct that they came from multiple sources. Beau Boeckmann allowed us to borrow Ed's Shop Truck, The Wishbone, Orbitron, Tweedy Pie, and Mysterion, along with the Iron Orchid and GTR1. GM loaned us the 2009 Concept Corvette (aka Sideswipe) and the green C7 from the Transformers film (aka Crosshairs). The Beatnik Bandit came from the Petersen Automotive Museum and the Outlaw came from the American Automobile Museum. Rob Palmer loaned us "The Smoker" Rat Rod, and Gary Reid allowed us to share his Bubble Ray Corvette with our guests. This really is a rare opportunity to see the work of Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, and then see his impact on car builders, and the automotive industry as well. Special thanks to Ilene Roth for the artifacts, Dave Shuten for helping us get the bulk of the cars, and Ed "Newt" Newton for his artwork. I urge you to come while you can as you'll never see this collection brought together in one place again.

Thanks S.D. great museum piece. I've seen that blue window 34 coupe at Bob's Big Boy in Burbank on a Friday night cruise night. Its special, detailing is over the top.

@@ScottieDTV The more people get the vaccine the safer folks will feel about travelling in general, but in my case they'll feel safe in NYC. I've gotten shot 1, end of the month shot 2. If you travel this way and I'm working I'll let you know my schedule if you contact me. Thanks for your support.
Ed Roth was a big deal my entire childhood. Cool stuff. I built some of the models, and I had all the original Hot Wheels, that included some of Ed's cars. Great guy.

Big Daddy Roth's son Darrell worked at a Western Auto in Bell CA in the mid 80's and people would call him Baby Roth and he'd get so mad
