I cried when I watched Moana (French version) the first time at the theaters, here in Tahiti. Seeing, watching the story of our ancestors on the big screen was really moving. And when I learned that it was going to be released in my native language, boy was I emotional. I cried. Way too much.

this may seem like a stupid question (and it is, in some way) but I wonder what these people think about the whole "moana costumes for children" controversy. would they be so offended?

Nope,I'm proud Westerners love the Costumes,Us here in the Islands Love that a piece of our culture is out there for the world,We don't care the only people who care are the Islanders born and raised overseas who are Liberal SJWs etc,its silly and stupid why they would be so offended, when they should be proud of it.

I'm not sure about Moana's coustume but Maui's is a different topic. Brownfacing - (similar to blackface) with this problem (on a personal level) it frustrates me to see someone who can wear an outfit that represents my pigment colour and to wear it for just 1 night is highly unacceptable.
