- In today's episode, we react to Disney's Moana. This is one of our favorite films to watch and consider the life of a Christian disciple and vocational discernment. Spoilers ahead! So if you haven't seen the film, go watch it and come back.
We'll wait.
Back? Great. Enjoy! And when you're done, we'd invite you to go pray with the themes or get some friends together for a discussion. Here's a PDF you can download to help you: bit.ly/NunsReactMoana

" I have crossed the horizon to find you. I know your name."
Have always thought of that line as the Holy Spirit calling out reaching for us. I love it so much.
Wow that was DEEP. Preach!
Your perspectives here are extremely interesting. Especially in polarizing times like this, dialogue is important. It’s good to know that a movie meant to be a tribute to Polynesian culture is appreciated by a Christian organization, given troubled history.
Thank you for starting here. Such a great movie and the Christian themes you presented were not as obvious to me. I wasn’t surprised that the overall theme was Christ-like, but the nuances presented here were appreciated.
Just throwing out there, y’all are so brave to evangelize through media! It’s really rough with how awful people can get halfway to anonymity, and things like this are great to get the Word out to who needs to hear it most!
Aw, thanks! All for Jesus. 😊
@@daughterstpaul 🥰😍😘!
I love the Daughters of St. Paul. They all deliver such awesome messages about the Sunday Gospels.
This is great. I am curious about your thoughts on Encanto. Thank you for helping me see this movie in a different way.
I feel the whole film is an allegory for our need to take care of the planet.
Best line in the film: 'I'm the village crazy lady. It's my job.'
Fun fact: #1 Alan Tudyk, who voiced Hei Hei, was also Villager #3, the one who asked 'Couldn't we just...cook him?'
Fun fact #2: Maui's tattoos were animated by hand, not CGI
Maui's description of the creation of coconuts is reminiscent of the Algonquin tale of the origin of corn.
Maui has to make right his act of stealing the heart of Te Fiti, While he isn't actually the one to restore the heart, he makes it possible of Moana to do so, Plus, he is genuinely sorry for having stolen it in the first place.
if I recall correctly, touching foreheads is an expression of greeting in some Polynesian cultures.
I love this movie, it holds such a special place in my heart for sentiment reason's. Hearing your breakdowns and applying religious reasonings (that I honeslty wouldn't have thought of), makes it that much more special. Thank you 😊🙌🏼
Thank you Beautiful Sisters in and out, Learned and could relate so much to this....plus it was beautiful to watch! Expecting more of this 💙🙏
you guys are so cute, although I am not christian or even that religious but you guys are so sweet and comforting. loved your reactions
Yes! Thank you! I felt connected to this movie. Your commentary brought out all I was connected to growing up. I need to continue to find 'the good' in people, and with God's help, help them see the same in themselves.
29:28 mark "And he eats his grandma!" Lol I am dead 🤣
😂😂😂
great insights
Thank you so so much for sharing your thoughts and give more insight and a spiritual meaning to this movie! I had a small request haha! With these nun react videos do you think you can do more of the Disney movies? I love love love Disney movies and I would like to put a positive spiritual part to them. Many people that I know say that Disney is satanic or is not good and I would like to put these movies in a more spiritual thought. They may or may not be bad but I like to think of things/people as something more positive and what greater way to do that with relating it to the Lord! I would love to hear more about it!! Also I love your guys podcast and videos!! God bless you girls and thank you for all you girls do!!🫶🏼☺️🙏🏼♥️
Also if you guys can you guys should go to the Steubenville retreat here in Tucson AZ🤪I will be helping out and I’d love to meet you guys! One day I will go on a discernment retreat with you guys! (I’m just broke right now😂)
Valerie (UCF grad) just loves The Rock and this film Moana.....I hope she is able to view this in Tampa Fl today. Jesus Christ is truth and light;
I love the Disney movies very much. I am so glad that I watched this movie about the baptism that Holy Spirit came into the soul became God's children.
i agree with the baptism take, us polynesians are really religious
❤❤❤
if you want a movie that you can react to with eyes of faith check out the Ghost in the Darkness. Much of that movie can be seen with spiritual eyes. Another would be the Power of One. Thanks for your reaction
Please, do "Snow White", "Cinderella" and "Sleeping Beauty"! ❤❤❤
They have so many teachings! ❤❤❤
You'll find a better disciple in 1978s animated movie Pilgrim's Progress. A great allegory for a Christian life.
You know...I”m curious what ypu say about MANGA series, especially Naruto...it”s in vogue somehow...I don”t...what do you think...?
(yes, I know you are humans and is about to not be tirde and havinf time)
Sorry if I”ve been to direct and straight...not my style. obviously I like Naruto 😂🤣😛, dattebayo😂🤣🤪
dattebyo = belive me!
The Naruto series has 3 ,,families”:
1) Naruto (he”s around 12 years old)
2) Naruto Shippuden (older with 3 years)
3) Boruto: Naruto nxt generations (Naruto”s or / and other few characters childeren, around 10 years old, their kids)
Sometimes the music atracts many or a few...just look
First!
She returns gods heart. Christianity has nothing to do with it.
I understand you are taught to shove Jesus into everything, but it is rather disrespectful to take another culture religion and mythos and try to cram yoyrs into it.
most polynesians are christian
I love moana
