I still have my Sony digital camera that takes about 4 pictures on a 3.5" floppy disc! It was more frustrating than anything trying to email family photos on dialup modem. Upgrading to a 56k was huge! Turns out, majority of our issues in rural area was faulty telecom lines.

Going from the T7 to the T8i, I was shocked that the T8i doesn't have an automatic flash. However, the mode dial having less options and sticking detailed explanations on the LCD of sub-modes was well worth the upgrade. It means that anyone can use the camera. Off/On/video switch was another modification to make the camera even more simpler. Hopefully the articulating screen doesn't break. It will make shooting video and capturing family photos so much easier.

I have two 800D and I just purchased a 850D. I always thought that even though it was marketed as a camera for beginners the 800D was an incredibly reliable camera with some features that were not available in some professional cameras. Now I see the 850D is marketed as a camera for enthusiasts, so they added an aperture wheel and removed all those modes from the mode dial to make it look a bit more pro. Shame they didn't add a headphone jack and an USB-c port.

You mention the on-camera flash doesn't have a button to pop it up like the t7i does. How would that work if/when set on "auto" or "program?" Would it pop up by itself? Curious how awkward it would be if I need to use it for fill flash in a pinch.

Doesn’t anyone speak at a normal rate anymore? Something like technical features should not be discussed as if we are under fire in an urgent situation.. ugh. People don’t understand that yes we might catch what the phrase was, but when people are deciding between cameras etc. they need a second to let the information sink in because they’re *thinking about what that information means to them and their needs.* Hence the entire point of the video. It would be like scanning through the specs extremely quickly while not processing what any of it means. I don’t know why people don’t understand this. And I don’t mean everyone has to speak extremely slowly, but racing through it all makes no sense. Why put all this effort into it to begin with?

  • @markgamba4495

Canon is flooding the market, too many models from the company. They should concentrate on putting out a camera with quality and more what professional photographers are crying for. Too to many cameras in the same price ranges. Overlap.
