- If you don't have the altitude of a triangle you can find the area of the triangle using Heron's formula. Heron's formula is a mathematical formula that gives the area of a triangle when the lengths of its three sides are known. The formula is:
A = sqrt(s(s-a)(s-b)(s-c))
