    Great job on the replacement and video presentation!
    I am 58 yrs old, have been a mechanic most of my life and give credit where credit is do.
    Your a fine young mechanic, keep up the great work.
    I just picked up a 2000 Dakota that has a plugged heater core but living in the Florida heat I have decided to by pass the heater core after seeing the work involved.
    Have a great day in Alaska.
    Blessings!

    I have this exact problem with my 98 Dakota. It has become bad enough to leak onto the floor. I just watched all 3 parts of your video and will use it as a guide to replace my core. This is by far the most detailed video of this task that I found. Excellent job. Thank you.

    After paying someone $400 to do this exact job, I wish I would have had the place, the space, some heat and your three-part series. I am confident I could have done this work. Thank you. Liked and subbed

    • @AKJeeper
      @AKJeeper  Před 5 měsíci

      No, there shouldn't be any change from before you disassembled anything. I would suggest checking the connection for the ignition switch, as well as any connections you disconnected in the process. Trace back your steps and make sure nothing was overlooked.

    Hey I followed your videos on the heater core but now I’m having issues with a no crank but there’s nor spark or any fuel not sure what I problem is I went to forums and other videos related on the problem and relooked at the look

    • @AKJeeper
      @AKJeeper  Před 8 měsíci

      Make sure the connections for the ignition switch at the steering column are correct. Also check the ground connections at the dash on both sides (near where the pivot bolts are). Lastly, check the connections at the back of the dash fuse box, these often get overlooked.

    I followed the videos except my only difference was I only took the passenger side apart and dropped the steering wheel, and I took the vacuum line/ throttle off the climate control Now my blower motor won't work at all and it's lit up anytime the battery is connected. I checked and it's plugged in. Any ideas?

    • @AKJeeper
      @AKJeeper  Před rokem +1

      Common trouble areas - make sure the ground wires at both kick panels are securely bolted down. Make sure the blower motor connector behind the glovebox is connected. Hopefully you remembered to connect the blower motor resistor as well. Pop off the climate control panel and make sure it is connected properly.

      @@simonmolina2648 Also make sure the dash lower mounting bolts are tight as well. Loosen them up, and retighten just for good measure. There are a number of components in the dash that ground out to the mounting brackets of the dash. What do you mean “it’s lit up anytime the battery is connected”? What exactly lights up?

      @@davidthorpe5569 It really doesn’t matter whether it was explicitly stated. The point of the video was to show how to remove and replace the heater core on these trucks, not how to troubleshoot it.
      If you go to video 2 of the series, skip ahead to 9:55 you can clearly see that the core had been leaking.
