18 Things Guinea Pigs Hate

- In this video, we’ll discuss the top 18 things that guinea pigs hate and you should avoid.
Loud Noises
Loud noises are stressful for your guinea pig because they have much more sensitive hearing than humans. Keep in mind that guinea pigs are prey animals and their sense of fear is a survival tactic.
The sound of fireworks, thunder, loud music, horror movies, loud vehicles, slamming doors, shouting or your vacuum cleaner can be terrifying for your guinea pig.
Having nowhere to hide
Guinea pigs are prey animals and open spaces without a hideout make them feel nervous and vulnerable.
It is important for your little pet to have a safe place to hide when they feel threatened or get spooked. Hideouts are an essential item for your guinea pigs' cage and they will help your pet feel safe and confident.
Cold Temperatures
Guinea pigs hate cold weather. They can tolerate temperatures as low as 60 degrees Fahrenheit, but anything below that is chilly for guinea pigs and they need your help to stay warm.
Heat
Guinea pigs are very vulnerable to heat. They don’t like to be hot, just as much as they don’t like to be cold. In fact, guinea pigs cannot sweat because they have no sweat glands. If it gets hotter than 80 degrees Fahrenheit, your pet could get heatstroke.
It is advisable to keep them in an air conditioned and ventilated room. If they are outside, it’s important to keep them away from direct sunlight.
Being picked up
Guinea pigs hate being picked up. In the wild, only predators pick them up, and after that not much is left. So when you try to grab them, it reminds them of being captured by a predator, which can cause them a lot of stress.
Being lonely
Guinea pigs are very social creatures, and they need constant companionship.
Ideally guinea pigs should be kept in pairs - but if you have a single guinea pig, then make sure the company comes from you. A lonely piggy can suffer from depression, stress and boredom.
Traveling
Guinea pigs hate traveling because they would rather be at home where they feel safe. Being outside of their known environment makes them feel anxious and vulnerable.
Touching their butt
Most guinea pigs don’t like being touched on their rear end. They prefer to be scratched on the nose, under the chin or behind the ears, but try to keep your hands away from their butt. This is especially true with male guinea pigs. Touching their butt is an act of dominance and they don’t like being dominated.
A home full of urine and droppings
Guinea pigs are very clean animals and they appreciate a clean, nice environment.
Damp, stale dusty hay
It’s important to give your guinea pig high quality hay. It needs to smell nice and be dust free. Hay is the most important part of a guinea pig's diet as it provides the fiber necessary to keep their digestive systems healthy.
Guinea pigs should have a daily diet of mostly hay, a smaller amount of fresh vegetables, and a limited number of pellets.
And remember, guinea pigs cannot make their own vitamin C, so they require vitamin C-rich foods in their daily diet. Be sure to provide them with vitamin C-rich vegetables and fruit on a daily basis. You can also choose vitamin C-fortified pellets with no seeds or dried fruit added.
Socializing with predators
By nature, dogs and cats are predators, and guinea pigs are prey.
You may think it’s cute to introduce your little pet to cats or dogs, but these are predatory animals and they can be very frightening for your little pet.
Washing them
Guinea pigs are known to be very clean animals who groom themselves often. Therefore, they rarely need to a bath. These animals also have sensitive skin and unnecessary baths may result in dry fur coats and skin.
Guinea pigs are also sensitive to temperature changes, which is another reason why bathing them isn't recommended. Damp fur can keep their little bodies too cold, and that chill can cause upper respiratory infection.
Not enough space to exercise
Although guinea pigs are small, they need plenty of room to exercise, explore tunnels, and play hide and seek. This is because their bodies are built to run and jump around. A pair of guinea pigs need a space that is at least 10.5 square feet.
Being held for too long
You’ll find guinea pigs don’t like being held for more than 15 minutes.
And guinea pigs urinate approximately every 15 minutes, so your piggy may actually be trying to save you the trouble of getting wet.
Living with rabbits
Rabbits and guinea pigs are similar in size and both are prey animals but they should not be kept together in the same hutch. This is because rabbits may injure guinea pigs by kicking them with their powerful back legs.
Dressing them
Some guinea pig owners confuse caring for their pets with treating them like babies.
A common example is an owner who dresses up their pet for a cute photo, or because they may look cute in them.
Keep in mind that guinea pigs are animals and keeping clothes on them will agitate them. - Jak na to + styl

Honestly each guinea pig has a different personality so some don’t hate all of these things. My guinea pig actually loved being alone more an runs happily around the cage by herself an when I put her with someone she would be mad an try to fight them and got happy when I removed the company. She also loves getting her backside rubbed and stretches out like a cat purring for me to keep petting her she gets comfortable.
also w the dressing them thing i have seen guinea pigs who actually like it. like personally i dont think you should clothe them bc they might get hot but i have a diaper for mine so that he can be out without peeing or pooping on the ground.
@@ryryjohnson2794 where can you buy a piggy diaper?
@@ryryjohnson2794 you shouldent put anything on ur piggie bc it squeezes them

As responsible owners We get to know our pets, some have special needs, for example, my guinea pig, dustbunny, had a bad history with other guinea pigs and ended up hating others around her, She was injured in both legs and is not much for exercise because of those injuries, once another guinea pig bit me and made me bleed, She smelled my injury and got noticeably angry, from that point it became impossible to have her near other piggies, She's got a skin condition and after having her fur grow too long it will start to hurt, we noticed that when she rejected being touched anywhere making pain noises, after a haircut She behaved a lot better, We keep her in a place where She feels safe and has constant access to food and vegetables, She's very picky with which foods She wants to eat, She won't forgive not getting some tomato daily, sometimes even rejecting lettuce, celery, bell pepper or anything else, She will want tomato, She's got quite the personality.
I know that you said dont socialize with predators, but my Guinea pig is a predator to predators, my cats actually fear him. In this house, the Guinea pig isnt afraid of predators, he IS the predator
Same here!
Same here my dog has been bitten by my Guinea pig multiple times

Yes, your guinea pig is defending himself from a perceived threat by being preemtively agressive to dogs or cats the pig is extremely stressed and in fear of his life.
@@KaleidoAbridged wow....the guinea pig is defending itself by volunteering-ly sniffing a cats’ nose. Logic.

It took my sweet guinea pig two years at least to understand I wasn't a predator 😂. She also got along with my enormous dog just fine, they would sleep together. Unfortunately she passed away due to a respiratory infection when she was five years old. I miss her so much 💙🐹.

Thank you so much I have a friend who has two Guinea pigs and she did most of those horrible things and she didn’t know they were bad so this helped now she know to not do these things and now her Guinea pigs feel safe!!
This video is actually spot on I’ve kept piggy’s for 11 years of my life until the last of them passed away last year. But I would say the rabbit one is a case by case basis, I had a rabbit and a guinea pig that couldn’t be separated they had free range of my whole kitchen, but you’d always find them snuggled up together away from the rest. I was so glad that my rabbit could have company with them after her sibling passed away. I think she thought they were her babies 💖😊
When I was little we kept our rabbit and Guinea pigs together and they also went along great. The bunny would even wash the Guinea pigs :)
No its not this video is garbage
That is so sweet❤❤❤❤
I think the free range thing helped. They had space, so they could be around each other when they wanted to and separate if they wanted time to themselves as well.

Guinea pigs only hate being picked up if they haven’t been picked up much or if you pick them up wrong! You should gently pick them up often so that they get used to you. :)
Hard to try and pick them up as softly as possible when they keep running away, I'm still careful but I'm always having to chase them to hold them. Perhaps I need to do it more often.
@@Layla109 I have 4 and two of them just don’t like to be picked up. I’m home all day,no small children here, quiet environment, they are fine being petted and they get plenty of attention.. they just freak when I have to pick them up. I had one female live over 8 years and wasn’t a fan of being held. I think it depends on the piggie.
@@tarabannister9922 Oh wow. See, that’s what I think too being It’s the personality. My piggies personality are that one is chill and the other is more skittish but they both run when it’s time to be picked up. The chill one doesn’t mind being held for a time and the skittish one gets squirmy and tries to nip on me a little. Lol had them for about 2 years now.
my piggies absolutely LOVE the mini vacuum, because we use a small vacuum to clean there cage. they love it because they know after they hear the vacuum, they get veggies.
Wow.... nice comment
Aww that’s adorable I don’t use a vacuum but I let them have floor time while I clean the cage and then I feed them it makes them so happy
Interesting...I feed my piggies food BEFORE the vacuum since I worry that having no food or something to focus on while I clean will be a worse experience. Is one way better then the other?
That's very smart
My babies love the broom... to chew on

Nahh literally my guinea pig sleeps through my mom yelling at me🤣😭
@@kimg4175 our cat and them have the same sleeping cycle, now.
I have quail which are like guinea pigs in bird form. A lot of this list applies to them also. Compared with guinea pigs, I find quail a bit more interesting when no physical interaction is involved, although guinea pigs seem to tolerate handling more so are better for physical interaction. Of course it can come down to the individual animal, some can be more/less skittish than others of the same species. If a quail imprints on you at birth, it can tolerate handling very well.
We had Guinea pigs when I was a kid.
They had a cage outside with 2 houses inside and hay / water/ food and the wheat stuff to keep warm
At one side of the cage there was a door to a balcony and a ramp which was almost always open in summer. (In winter we took them inside the house)
The ramp lead down to a self built outside cage which was ~2 x 4 meters with grass, houses, tunnels etc.
They could go outside and inside whenever they wanted and in summer when we were in the garden to watch out for cats etc we opened another door to let them out into the whole garden. It was so big for them, they followed us around etc.
They had a really good life I guess.
Will I ever own a guinea pig? Propably not. Would I like to know what makes them sad so I can avoid doing that? Absolutley yes.
Omggg why is this so true 😅
They have exceptional hearing. When you go to the refrigerator, open it and close it and Apples or Carrots or some other treat they really like doesn't appear in front of them shortly, they'll start talking to you about it. Usually they hear the fridge door and start talking then. Lest you forget. Haven't had any for 25 years but remember that. Also remember having one and then walking into the room to having 5 the next day. They come out looking like miniature versions of Mom and if she ever nurses them, I didn't see it. They just waddled up to the food dish and dug in.
7:12 no I don’t think it’s a fun game, it’s just that the little bastards keep running toward the neighbours garden whenever I have them outside
I let them have floor time with tons of hides and available space and they'll STILL escape the gate and run into unsafe areas 😡 I'm trynna save their lives 😭
Mine will run under the couch and they won’t come out the good way - by making noise with bags to make them think I’m feeding them, so I make them come out the bad way - I gotta have someone pull the couch up so I can pull them out otherwise they’ll get crushed if I try to push the couch
@@salma-pf5sj 6 months late, but if you have a broom or similar long-stick-like object, you can corral the pig(s) out from under a bed, couch, or dresser with a gentle sweeping motion. Much easier.

My guinea pig actually had a very big connection with my dog. They played with each other and they seemed to enjoy it. When my guinea pig is with me he’s squeaking like crazy but when he was with my dog he was calm and happy. My guinea pig was the last person to be with my dog before she sadly died. My dogs death was terrible. Bailey will be remembered. Ever since my guinea pig Nibbles has been very social.

My cats see my guinea pigs as deformed kittens and they love them. Please note tht almost all of my cats have been mothers at some point.
Mine chases my dog and she runs away but he will run after her and when I look at him he will run away and my dog will look at him ☠
One of my cats and my pigs have a bond when the pigs scare the cat she makes sure to tuck in her class in the boop like are you ok?
You guys better say good bye to your piggies before it's too late. Predatory instincts in cats and dogs may seem hidden, but they might kick in once in a while, especially in the presence of a prey animal. Not to mention the difference in size of the animals, a guinea pig may get injured when your dog is "playing with them"
My pig absolutely loves to travel with me in cars, I always make sure the music isn’t too loud and when the car drives over loud bumps, I hold him against me a little tighter, (not too tight of course). In fact, he’ll climb on me no problem in the car to view his surroundings. Obviously I’m usually not the one driving but he loves it
And I know he likes it because he’s always chirping and talking:) I know what each of there noises mean too
Same my pigs love driving they squeak at us to let them look around!
They are THE BEST pets for small children……lovely creatures. Always excited to see you, vocal, calm to hold.
@UCsKRmY52v3A3zKm7w7teYVg right would not say that is accurate. Kids are assholes piggy’s just want a full belly and a stress less life

I Had 2 guinea pigs and plenty of their babies years ago. They used to sit on the sofa with us they had their own cushion and they would come lay on us for a pet and strech their legs out lay on their backs for a belly rub and sleep on us whenever they wanted. You could bring them out in the garden they would always stay nearby and the babies just followed in line with the mum up front and the dad at the back of the line. Havny had any since then. But makes me want to get more. The mummy pig Lucy llived for about 10 years 🤗
My guinea pig loves the vacuum, she comes out and popcorns around excitedly
Yes. When I start cleaning the cage my gp is not afraid of the hand-held vacuum I use. My male comes out strutting and popcorning, but the female does not like it.
18. Loud noises (I would add 'any unexpected noise')
17. Not having somewhere to hide
16. Cold temperatures (below 15 degrees Celsius)
15. Heat (I'd say anything above 23 degrees Celsius)
14. Being picked up - they're fine once they are on your lap. Also, some piggies are more cuddly than others!
13. Being lonely
12. Travelling
11. Touching their butt (although I would say that you need to pick them up with one hand under their front paws and another under their butt)
10. Having a dirty smelly home
9. Damp, stale, dusty hay
8. Socialising with predators, e.g. Cats or dogs.
7. Washing them.
6. Not enough space to exercise
5. Visitors and strangers
4. Chasing after them
3. Being held for too long
2. Living with rabbits
1. Dressing your guinea pigs
I would say that some of these are to absolutely 100% avoid (e.g. 1 and 2). Others are just to be aware of, so that ideally you can limit or reduce their stress. E.g. With strangers, they could feed them veggies through the bars of the hutch!
For more tips, Little Adventures is a great channel to watch! :)
Scotty's Animals is a great channel for guinea pig information also!!
Um the heat thing. I live in a hot country and its above 28 Celsius every day. Had guinea pigs for like 15 years and theyve never died from heat stroke
The exercise thing; i think it's more meant for young guinea pigs that could be under a year or so, because my oldest piggy (who is 2 and a half years old) has a big place a does NOTHING, she lays in her tunnel all day and barely moves when i give them veggies. She aint fat either, nor have i noticed any sickness or something that could hurt her. She just lazy and doesnt want to run around 😂
@@man_imbored171 they must have gotten used to it probably. I mean, guinea pigs are still animals that need to survive in the wild, so their coat changes to adjust to the temperatures i guess.
I have 2 guinea pigs getting another one soon they are so cute and I'm glad I watched this!
My guinea pig (Brownie) LOVES her butt being scratched lol. She’ll just sit there and purr and vibrate ❤️💕🐹
I'm so sorry, I don't want to be one of those "well ackshually" pet owners... but just yesterday I learned that a guinea pig purring when you touch its back/butt means it's a bit uncomfortable. This is because it's an important place in the world of guinea pig dominance, so it's seen as "embarrassing" for guinea pigs to be pet on their butt. If Brownie is the dominant pig, she may be trying to tell you she's not a fan.. I pet my guinea pig's butt for a long time, and I don't want to make you feel bad :( but maybe this can help

@@msunflowers thank you for letting me know!!
I’m sorry :( I know it must suck to be told your piggy didn’t love it, but if she was just quietly making noise I’m sure she wasn’t distressed or something. It’s just kind of an instinct left over from their wild days that activates when you touch areas around those glands. I’m sure she still loves being pet and the fact she stayed still meant she was willing for you to pet there to be pet in the first place! I’m sure she’ll appreciate headpets from now on just the same 💙💙💙 thank you for being so understanding
as a guinea pig owner these are all true lol. however keeping their cage clean is hard as they poop everywhere and their cages become scattered with poo after only a day of being in the same cage. just clean it every few days and you’ll be fine

I have a couple of pigs who are very curious when new people come in the house. The only time I've seen people put "clothes" on their guinea pig is when the piggy had mange and it was the only way to get them to stop scratching. Scotty from Scotty's Animals had to do this with one that he was fostering because every time the poor piggy would scratch it would cause him to have a seizure. Also, some piggies love car rides. I had one who we thought was a dog in another life cause she loved watching out the car window at everything that passed by.
My guinea used to loud noises, he doesn't mind hammering, sawing, drilling, vacuuming, slaming, coughing, barking.
When I used saw to prepare wooden cage stuff, he was puting nose out of the cage, munching treats, to check what the humie does on the floor.
According to my friend he said that all of these are true for him and I am going to get a guinea pig in the future so I can’t wait
hi.
make sure to buy at least two please
don't forget that they need a big cage, I would recommend a C and C cage, Amazon has some
At least 3 of these were wrong with a couple if those being very wrong! same i’m debating for a guinea pig or rabbit
My guinea pig loves being in the car. Me and my family went on a road trip with my 2 other guinea pigs and we took her. She took like 7 or 8 naps and was completely comfortable with the car she was actually happy not stressed or anxious.
One of my guinea pigs loved to cuddle, the only time he would fidget is when he had to pee xD He’s so considerate, always warns us when he needs to pee so we don’t suffer consequences xD
I love guinea pigs. I once had 2 piggies in 1 cage...one was always chasing and attacking the other to the point where one would seem to try to hurt the other. So I got a second cage...put them near each other so the 2 piggies could see..smell and squeal to each other but no one's safety was at risk. They were both happier and less stressed. Sadly my cats would would torment any that I would have now...so I can't have guinea pigs at the moment. I've had guinea pigs at the same time as my current cats...that's how I know that would happen.
I buy them from stores just to torture them to death.
Number 19 - Get them a better cage that they can acually walk in :)
My guinea pigs walk up to my dog but my dogs scared of them lmao
LOL
Haha, one of my cats have a bond with my pigs and the pigs scared her jumping up and she went to boop 'em - her claws were not out and I was holding her she was not in the cage.
Ex-plosion!!!!!
My little pig runs up to my cat and the cat gets scared lol
My guinea pig used to sit on my shoulder and snuggle upto me happy, quiet and content for hours on end.. the only time he moved or would make a noise was to warn me that he was going to poop or pee. My cat was scared of him. He sadly passed away 7 years ago. If i put him down to run around he would quickly move up to my feet and look up at me.. i even took steps away from him and he would just follow me.
Sound advice!
Except to say, in my case, my Guinea Pigs lived with both cats and rabbits and they genuinely all got along perfectly well.
Of course they all had their own separate spaces, but they were often all in the garden or running about the house together and there was never any problems.
I get that this is the exception rather than the rule, but I guess I was just very fortunate.
"you have to keep them in a air ventelated room" but you said dont keep him in air ventelated rooms

@@chillx656 no different than eating any other animal.
thanks a LOT for USEFUL information SERIOUSLY
Thank you for made this video! it helped me with my Guineas pig, I loved ;)
Ha my guinea pigs like being held and if you Walk past their cages without stopping to say hi or pick them up they will make that loud squeak sound 🙃
*Narrator:* guinea pigs hate cold weather. **the guinea pig literally smiling**
1:15
My cats love my Guinea pigs. They watch them but then go back to ignoring them. I’ve had my Guinea pig for 4 years and they’ve never tried to attack or harm them.
My guineea pig keeps following the dog and when it’s around it, she makes that happiness sound
6:49 okay their bodies are NOT made to run and jump around. That's why it's very dangerous to get them a hamster wheel because their back isn't made for twisting and curling. Yeah mine like to run around and chase each other, but they are not flexible animals and are very fragile.
My guinea pigs jump around and run around whenever they are happy?
I had a guinea pig that really liked my cat. like really liked my cat. The guinea pig was a male and so was the cat. I started noticing the guinea pig was making interesting noises around the cat, looked up what those noises were and they were mating noises. One time when the guinea pig was cuddling up next to the cat, he upset at the cat by emitting something into the cat 💧😳.
The cat was pissed off but didn't attack the guinea pig because I guess he didn't want any more of the stuff on him 😫.
I'm getting my Guinea on the 4th and it was nice to learn more about their care to make sure my Guinea is the happiest it can be
I want more bunny videos ❤️
I would not think ones friendly dog would bother that person's guinea pig. But,I believe this video.
Soooo it's exactly like having a chinchilla. My four fight tooth and nail when they get picked up but then they're fine when you hold them.
I feel like guinea pigs might be my new spirit animal somehow.
For the last one I only say the expectation is for hairless guinea pigs cause freezing nights can skyrocket down that even in cozy fabric or hut. Also, you need to bath a guinea pig with a bad mess but is very rare. Well, I really love it.
This video helped me so much 😊
My guinea pigs literally ADORE my dogs
I wish this existed when I had a Guinea pig…may cookies Rest In Peace❤️

Thanks for the information
I found the best thing in the colder or winter months that a reptile heat stone or rock. I wrap my heat Rick's in a small dish towel. I wrap the rock a couple times. And place it near the perimeter of the cage so that y can't chew the cord.
When the temperature gets lower and we need to turn on the heat, I plug their rocks in. I also have a couple 3" PVC pipe sections about 10 to 15 inches long. They LOVE em. I rearrange them once or twice a week, or every other cage cleaning.
When they are moved into different areas, they immediately start exploring. I have a fleece tunnel too.
Mine all stay in a childs play pen. Its about 4 ft by 4 ft and 3 ft tall. Plenty of room for only 4 pigs. Plus there's an elevated area at the back. A 1 by 8" with ramps and both ends. Only 6 inches tall, so no danger of injury if one falls. It has a couple of supports to make multiple ins and outs underneath.
They love it.
We have 4. 3 of them are over 7 years old, the newsstand adoption was today. She beautiful!!! White, with a brown butt that looks like she's wearing shorts, and a perfect black mask.
I guess she's a Teddy type.. Her name is Bambi. Then there's Becka, Babbs and. Margo.
I dearly love my pigs. They're the perfect pets. They are zero liability. They don't poop or oee on the floor, they don't bite, they dont stink, and they really return affection.
Babbs likes to watch TV too. She will climb 6on my shoulder, nestle into my neck and will stay for hours.
Somehow I got to be one of five or six actors that the directors would use as guinea pigs at this directing colloquium, where people pay to listen to and watch the directors direct.
hi.
@@buzzybee3555 Hello
I have 2 guinea pigs and they love being hold and my guinea pig loves chin rubs and my other one he loves going behind our hair lol
The rabbits and guinea pig one isnt true universally, and I'm speaking from experience. When I was younger and didn't have proper access to info on guinea pigs, I housed my first piggie with a female rabbit, and they were absolutely in love for 3 years. They slept together, ate together, and my piggie was overly protective of the rabbit. The first piggie passed away long before the rabbit, and I ended up adopting a new baby guinea pig. I swear my rabbit was convinced this new piggie was her baby, because she would do anything for her. She let the baby sleep on top of her, would let her stand on her head to reach the water bottle (even though she could reach it just fine on her own, she still let her stand on her head every time the baby wanted a drink), and protected her from everything she thought was a danger.
OMG this helps me so much I ALWAYS vacum my room i did not know this!!!
We never introduced our cat and guinea pig and they ended up being friends lol
Guinea pigs and squirrels make me melt. 💗
I could put them in my pocket.
naw man... hamsters or nothing. lol
Thanks for providing me with knowledge I already knew.
Thanks so much for this video!i got two Guinea pigs about 5 months ago,and I have been doing ALOT of wrong things, but now I know what I was doing wrong, this was very helpful!
They hate human sneezes. Period. I can't sneeze without a butt rumble or two.
Hiccups too!
Shouting? My guinea pig love when I have an argument with my family 😂😂😂 When we're shouting, she gets excited and starts to jumping 😅
@Savannah Clark Well yeah I see and do that sometimes
@Savannah Clark hi.
@@reese_doglover hi.
Every time I petted my piggies lower back he would purr for me. He loved it. It wasn't his butt area, but I loved making him purr. I wish he were still here with me :'(
The worst thing that ever happened to my Guinea pigs was when the Diet Coke box fell into their cage, they were so scared. They’re cage is next to the fridge, and that’s where the box was. I feel so bad for them they were so scared.
The Norris Nuts need to see this lmao
I knew litterally every single thing you said but gj
My piggies adore the vacuum and popcorn and wheek while we use it
Never had a guinea pig but planning on getting two so trynna learn alot before getting it lol they're so cute
My guinea pig loves the vacuum cleaner and pop corns when she hears it lol
Actually nice video but I have to correct you at the loneliness thing: They should NEVER be kept alone and a human cannot replace a same-species companion.
i had three guinea a pigs, but one had to be taken away from the other two as he was attacking them as a sign of dominance. he has been healthy and happy every since. they were all raised together so they didn’t need introduction. the other two lived in the same cage still, until one passed away last week. it was really sad. now i am working to re-introduce the two that fought so that the one who’s cage-mate died, won’t get depressed. it’s been hard to get them to not fight again so i try everyday and stop when they fight. i’m scared for the one who’s now recently alone because he’s never been without his bestfriend. what should i do?
@@zoecercando3096 such situations are complicated. Are they all males? Because in males, especially in groups, uncastrated guineas mostly don't get along very well. If castrated and raised together this can work well, but two uncastrated adult males will fight. I would consider castration for both and/or if this doesn't work, castration and then (after 6 weeks of quarantine because of remaining sperm!) getting a female for each one of them, because two males will fight for the female. So the option if they don't get along would be two separate cages and getting each one a female partner or rehoming one and getting a female for the other I guess :/
@@denisemuller7483 yes they are both males. they haven’t been castrated or neutered, but got along when they were younger, as they were sprayed with the same sent, making them believe they are related. they are getting older, i’ve had them for about 3.5 years and they weren’t newborns when we got them, but maybe around like children?? would it be worth it to have them castrated to put them together? thanks so much for replying and helping me out :)
they're just like bunnies.. and guineas are a great companion for bunnies i want one
I'm glad I watched this🐾🐾
