My girl when she’s on her lap shift and I stop petting she’ll reach up and daintily tap my cheek wanting more rubs or just a hand on her. If I’m sitting up and I have an arm next to my leg my boy or girl, depending on whose on their lap shift, they’ll rest a paw on my arm to maintain more touch.

My two don’t announce themselves when they enter a room. But if I’m behind a closed bedroom or art room door I get the pawing and meowing. And I say I’ll be right out! And depending on which one it is, they patiently wait. When I’m distracted from tossing my boy his toy for fetch he meows and he used to meow as a kitten instructions on the proper way to feed he and his sister. When he really wants my attention and impatient his regular meow sounds like a cackling witch. So he has two voices. My girl is a quiet meower or she trills.

I live in Australia and there’s lots of kangaroos but you never actually get kicked like that because they actually only attack you whenever you’re near a babies or you’d like wave stuff at them but most kangaroos are friendly. I want help to baby kangaroo when it’s marble got hit by a car.

My male cat has zero affection. He will stare at me, lay somewhere close to me, but never next to me, and meow at me when he wants food or to go outside. He bites my feet to wake me up. That’s about it. I can only pet him once when I walk by him sleeping before he gets irritated.

Dogs frequently bark at me because they like me. I used to have a young couple who was a neighbor, and they had a toddler daughter and a pit bull mix who adored me. One day I was taking a garbage pail back to my house, when the mother was walking by taking her daughter and her dog on a play date with another kid. The dog started barking at me like I was the best thing that ever happened to him, and she tried to command the dog to keep following them. It didn't work. Then she tried to call the dog home. That didn't work either. So I followed her while she was walking home in order to get the dog to follow her. She called her husband on her cell phone asking for help dealing with the dog. The man came out and playfully tried to coax the pooch into going with them.

You have summed up all the things I learned from living with dogs over the last 40 years. From adopting a rescue who became my dog mentor, to my last dog who became my trail scout on our wanderings, they each brought their own unique talents into my life. Thankfully, I never bought into that "alpha" nonsense and so was able to let them find their own best ways of contributing to the pack. Listen to your dogs. They have a lot to teach you.

Parsley is apparently really good for dogs. I cook a mixture of beef mince, liver, pumpkin and Parsley for my great dane and add that to her kibble. She loves it and is one of the few danes i know of who's ribs don't stick out. She's allergic to chicken so i can't use that.

99.9% are killed by shotguns,road kill,poisoning those ( a lot of people don't like cats because of the slaughter they do to birds even young in the nests)who have collars get stuck underneath cars and dragged miles away these never survived like mine...and some I saw besides of the road while looking for mine . I even found one that had a collar with a number phone..so I contacted the person to give them the news.The lived about 3 miles distance from where I found the creature .

My dog was abused and now it thinks whenever I pet it I will scold or hit it. Whenever I look at it it gets anxious and feels that it has to come to me even though I just want it to be at ease
