When was Garfield originally popular? I'm an old dude and I remember Garfield being old when I was a kid.
I'm going to give garfield a chance.
As a family film, and if it gets OK reviews, Garfield should have legs. So my guess is Garfield will come out on top in the long run.
Since they are coming out on the same day, should I call this Furyfield or Garfiosa?
Im not in the movie bubble like you are, but as an average guy that lives in "just a guy" world... nobody that I know is talking about Furiosa. I dont even think most people even know what it is.
And yet this "movie bubble" I live in still ends up being accurate to reality most of the time. Trends and data may not be perfect, but they are still incredibly reliable

Im just saying that the circles you travel in almost certainly feature more Hollywood talk and people that are talking about movies than the circles I travel in, where Hollywood and upcoming movies isnt a big topic of conversation at all. I appreciate what you do and wasnt taking a shot at you. I feel bad that it came across to you in that way.
Godzilla x Kong looks like even more of a bomb now considering how well all these summer movies are doing!
Furiosa is definitely just a 'five years too late' type of movie that'll completely fail to capitalize on the the 'cult' hype Fury Road made. Even accounting for inflation I'm surprised this spinoff has around the same budget as Fury Road does.

If someone wants to watch a good female lead post-apocalypse movie, I suggesting trying to track down 2008's Doomsday.
I'm just not interested in furiosa. I wanted another mad Max movie, not a spin-off about the chick that I don't really care about. Garfield might become a hit. I'm not 100% certain but I'm wanting to give it a try if Chris pratt's in it.
Fury Road had a china release ? Was looking and both the numbers and box office mojo don't have anything for it.
As for Furiosa, those numbers are not looking all that good.
I'm interested in your review, but I basically hate the Furiosa movie. I waited 30 years for a new Mad Max movie, and what i got was a woke bait and switch about a limb challenged truck driver. Furiosa is just more of the same crap.
Garfield is doing pretty bad in the Netherlands. After three weeks it made 1,643.000.
To give you a comparison; let's look at other children movies after three weeks; Wonka (12.573.000) Puss in Boots (9,906.000) Super Mario Bross (9.489.000). Then a huuuuuuuge gap..... Kung Fu Panda 4 (3.5100.000) Aquaman (3.370.000) Migration (3.200.000) The Little Mermaid ($3,145,000) Antman and the Wasp (3,143.000) Godzilla x Kong (2.527.000) Elemental (2,449.000) Wish (1.315.000) Blue Beetle (825,000) Buzz Lightyear (505.000) and Strange World (403.000).
Garfield is not doing great overhere.
People want a TOM HARDY Mad Max film NOT WOKIOSA
The films were all rubbish after Mad Max. The Road Warrior, or whatever people call it was not a good film.
I enjoyed it. I’m old and grew up on mad max and I’ll be watching it several times in theaters while I can.
I would also say more % of viewer will opt to stream these days. So comparing to fury road.pre pandemic for box office isn’t gonna jive.
I know my good buddy simply buys films from his TV now
I don’t know if that contributes to box office numbers
And release dates matter, lot of people are going to want to be outside, students are graduating, etc.

So why does Garfield get a head start overseas? No fair
Some films get an early release. Won’t make much difference in the total box office by the end though.
What's more non-believable than a CG cat? How about Anya Taylor being a girl boss. This movie will be the nail in the ciffin for tough girl movies. Furthermore, way to go hiding behind the MadMax name. Captain Marvel anyone?
I took my kids to Garfield, it was a mediocre movie and most likely won’t ever watch it again. Also disappointed that Garfield had two woke moments. John Arbuckle talks about trigger words, second is that there is Two Gay dude at a Photo Booth at the milk farm.
Normally Garfield is very funny, but his jokes in this movie fell flat.
I want to say I'm looking forward to seeing Furiosa but I'm not. True, I enjoyed Fury Road, but even my love for the Mad Max universe isn't enough to watch a possible girl powar film.
Don't bother watching any Alien film with Sigourney Weaver then.
@@bosskbounty lol, I have and I love them. At least the first two films that are actually worth a damn, and then there's Isolation. Thoroughly recommend it.
