    As always, Rob tells the truth and not afraid to do it. This is why it takes shade tree mechanics 2 years to build a truck.

    Been running exotic studs on my 03 cummins for 2 years. Have MLS head gasket with compounds(gt45 over stock) constantly running at 55psi and motor is healthy as ever. Rebuild the motor when I got the truck at 500,000 miles lol. Still has oem crank and pistons. Head was done at a horrible machine shop and took my shit back after 5 weeks. Did the block deck myself with sand paper, a piece of lvl, and a cinder block (horrible idea, don’t ever do it) somehow by a stroke of magic it worked. Probably all thanks to the exotic head studs!

    I spun a rod bearing last winter and have 4000 to get it rebuilt. The machinist here quoted me $1500 to deck and check everything. I was also thinking of getting the crank polished depending on how bad it is. The cylinders still had crosshatching in them when I did a head gasket right before it blew up. Just curious where are you would put the $4000 Canadian into? I was thinking of adding a little bit more fuel or a turbo since I have 90 hp injectors in it

      The 4000 cad wouldn’t get you into a lot now a days. The parts are more then half of that

    My truck has a bit of blow by and it smokes some blue on start up. These numbers scare me for a rebuild. I'm sure it'll last a good long while. But man. I only paid five grand for the truck. It's a tough call lol 536,000 on it.

    • @CUTTERUPROB
      @CUTTERUPROB  Před rokem +1

      I would just run it till it give you issues

    • @anthonywilson6611
      @anthonywilson6611 Před rokem

      @@CUTTERUPROB it's not too bad. It smokes a little only on idle. And the blow by is not bad at all. An oil change and some treatment should help it. Tons of power. But it would be nice to keep it around. I drove it home which was a 1000 kilometer trip and it didn't give me a single issue. Love that truck.

      @@CUTTERUPROB Is there a power level, bore size, RPM range, or HP range that you recommend balancing?
      * I have a 12V in a machine shop being bored 040, polished the crank, OE rods, looking at going with coated dual steel ring pistons. Will be installing 4K gov springs, Hamilton head, Hamilton cam, projecting 500 HP now and maybe 700 down the road.

    How can I ask you questions. My 96 has had a leaky head gasket for 1.5yrs. A well known diesel mechanic in my area says he knows itsa cracked head and I need to by head before we even start. Sounds fishy. My Father thought he was doing me a favor and plugged my truck in when I wasn't home. I came home 24hrs later than planned. When I got home it had been45°-50° all day and it leaked after that. Why does this guy insist on it being head cracked. Leaks under thermostat. I know someone else with the exact same leak location. Please advise me. How often are heads cracked ? Please I need a 2nd opinion.
