Had the same thing happen to my axle, and this video helped :) I noticed the wobble in my rear tire when the treads were rubbing, but only when I rode forcefully. I made an adjustment to how it was set in the frame and just rode lighter. Took off the rear tire when I had the chance and yup, the axle is broken. Thankfully I only rode on it for two weeks, not two years :P
