@@Roberta-q1qYes, it is definitely not just a woman's cancer, but it is much rarer in men. My nipple inverted and I had no idea that was a sign, men aren't taught about that. It wasn't until I felt a lump under that when I went to have it looked at.

Since the reading by Black, have you found any help in relocating? I had a neighbor who was a vet and partially blind and found a retirement facility for vets with disabilities in southern California. Would you like me to investigate this further?

Also, while New Popular Front has far left elements, the vast majority of it is simply plain left by French standards. Finally, no, Ensemble did not get the most seats; they won the most in the second round. The final seat count has New Popular Front holding the plurality at 180 to Ensemble's 159 with National Rally in the minority at 142. There are then another 96 seats that are not officially affiliated with any of the 3 primary groups. Yet, even if National Rally were to get all 96 to side with them, which is basically impossible due to competing ideology, it still isn't enough to overcome the numerical advantage of the coalition.

Thank you for your delivery of Gregory's message as is resonated deeply for me. In my 40 and never was allowed to serve because I broke my back when I was 18 and as a result never had the honor. In the last 7 years I have had multiple complications resulting in my loss of the ability to obtain gainful employment. On the same flip of the coin I can not get any assistance for many reasons. And Russians, even the most liberal Russians, often wouldn’t believe me. They would think-they would equate idealism with stupidity, and this would fit their stereotype of Americans as stupid. Excellent rant. I ended this one in tears but not tears of joy or laughter. I understand the pain of living with fibromyalgia because I also have it. If it wasn't for the support of my husband and mother, I would be homeless or dead.
The pain is so debilitating and completely invisible. I would almost prefer losing a limb. I have so often yearned for the power to lend my pain to some people, just for a day or so. I'm confident they would have a fresh respect for what we deal with every single second. Thank you!

Thank you. I've been looking at moving to either Florida or Southern California so I have sunny weather to swim all year round. It will be hard enough to move once, I don't really want to move twice, once to get a short term lease to be in the area and able to home shop. But the big problem is each place wants $75 to $80 to run my credit, which also hurts my credit. What a mess our housing has become.

26:48 I'm an ex-conservative. I was also in the military for 10 years. But due to my status, I was a nominally reservist classification, and due to how I was treated by my unit, that is I was deployed, I have never been able to get veteran anything... You see, the GOP, way back when, decided that they were going to add language to bills dealing with how you deploy reservists. Essentially, if you are deployed for less than 180 days, each time, you are never going to get "points" to veterancy. So even though, I was deployed literally year long for period of over 5 years, and had, prior to that for those other 5 years been deployed for approximately two of those five, I am not considered a veteran. This is because the unit I was in always made sure that my orders showed 179 days, they would then issue new orders, literally the next day for another 179 days... As such, things like my asthma which is due entirely due to things that I did in the military, my hearing which also is out especially in one ear, entirely due to my job in the military, and a couple of other little ailments like the botched work they did on my teeth, are not covered nor will I ever be able to get coverage by veterans affairs. It does not surprise me that this poor Marine, got screwed. Many of us get screwed. Because the top 1% want the 1% that actually serves, to do it cheaply. Never mind the fact that many people who served with me and under me, for I was an NCO, had to live on food stamps while doing full-time in the military. Yes a reservist can be in charge of active duty, and in my case I was also training them. The GOP is antimilitary. They do not support the military, they just like to drape the flag around themselves. They do everything possible to deny access to anybody who has served, and for combat vets, never mind just regular vets, it's inexcusable that they are not getting all of the care they're supposed to get I joined the military to serve my country, I could make and did make later a lot more money outside of the military, I did not serve 10 years to be treated like a used tissue paper, once soiled then to be disposed of and forgotten... And this is doubly so for all of those who were combat vets, it is inexcusable for their care not to be 100% taken care of by veterans affairs regardless if things happen during, before, or after their service. And this is not just about health care this should be about all promises, like the GI Bill. Anybody who joins the military should automatically have access without having to put any money in, because they were already trying to get food stamps to eat, into a GI Bill that they'll use in the future. Never mind the fairness, the fact is anybody who uses the GI Bill, will automatically pay more in taxes in the future than the GI Bill could possibly have cost. But the GOP decided that they wanted to reduce the cost so that they could increase expenditures that are solely aimed at the rich, or give them undeserved tax breaks Am I angry, f****** yes I am. Should you be angry? Of course you should be, but instead we're hearing from these corporate shills that call themselves journalists, about how Biden did so badly into the debate that we need to do XY or z... There are way too many veterans that are ignored and failed every damn day. My son, Greg Douglas, falls into depression every damn time the VA has failed him. For instance, services for housing aren’t available until you are homeless. How is that helpful? Also, the cost of renting today is not taken into account. They only look at what you earn. My son is paying $1,900 a month for rent and at the time he couldn’t work was only making $1,700. That amount did not qualify him for housing benefits. Thank you for all you did for our country and I’m so sorry you have received so little for that service!

Hey Greg. I hope you see this! You are not alone brother. You need to find the patient advocate at your VA facility. There’s also a new program with mental health; we are each assigned to a program manager who ensures any barrier to care is eliminated. They can guide you to the right advocates too. Not sure about out where you are, here in Cali we have veterans homes where there’s assisted living. Combined with Medicare our VA coverage will pay for in home care depending on needs. Call the main VA number and file a claim to get assisted with free van rides for chair or equipment challenged vets. They can literally pick you up at your door to help you get down steps to the van. My hubby got that lift thing for his scooter-installed by VA-and they’ve covered a bunch of after market add ons for comfort and accessibility. Keep pushing for what you need!! Also… If that treatment improves your quality of life, and your mental well being-then your VA advocate can find a way to get you that treatment off campus or at another facility. Don’t give up!! You will get there dude. You deserve to be cared for, that was the contract. The VA can also pay to retrain you if any of your disability is service connected and caused you to be unemployed in your trade. There are jobs we can do from home and they provide a lot of necessary equipment for the training and for employment. If you don’t ask, they don’t offer.🤦🏽♀️🇺🇸 Finally… If at first you don’t get what you need? Keep elevating it!!! You might be surprised at the different answers you’ll get depending on who/where you call. Keep on keeping on.💖✨💖
Thank you. I have been working with the VA, even the patient advocate. The VA in Providence, RI has been pretty awful. I have called the patient advocate several times for various issues I've had and they are worthless. They usually tell me to go back to the Healthcare team I'm having problems with and they do nothing. I've been waiting for over a year to have a hearing about my best cancer and I don't even have a hearing date. I'm still trying to push them, but I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere and I'm losing all hope. Thanks.
@@gregorydouglas7957 I am so sorry (and frustrated) for your experiences at that VA. Have you contacted your local congressional representative? Or Senator? Doesn’t matter what party. They LOVE getting involved with ‘fixing’ things for local vets. It’s good PR and it’s an easy gimme activity in DC-win win for you. There’s even a standard form for vets to get assistance🤗 Always more than one way to get what you need.
I've given up on TV news, mostly get it from you & other fact checking comedy & a little BBC. Am told that laughing & crying at the same time is considered a form of spiritual experience. Also I've learned it stops when I go to my courthouse & vote early, soon as polls open. It stops a little of the screaming in my brain. Truly grateful, much respect for you!

Mr. Greg Douglas, I am truly sorry for your condition. My father was a veteran of the Vietnam war and I personally cared for him until the day he died. He was lucky enough not to have suffered from exposure to the chemical nightmare others like yourself did but he did for the rest of his life live with the 12 confirmed kills he made as a fkn corp man, (a fkn field medic!!) during his 2 tours. It haunted him til the day he died. Anyway, I hope some doctor out there will do something selfless, not for the money, and help you at least live without pain. What the actual fk!! The reason I brought up my Dad is because he wouldn't let me join the military after what he saw and had to do while he served. Although many of my friends did and some did not return and some are facing a laundry list of physical and mental health issues today. I hope some one would act selflessly to help you. I'm so sorry for the pain and the frustration you are having to deal with just from the act of serving your country when it was most needed. Shame on them for turning you away. Bless you sir. I have Fibromyalgia & Lupus, I do understand what you are feeling & the excruciating pain nerves give you. I get woken up by the pain; It feels like every nerve in your body is screaming!! If you have SSI I would first apply for a Housing Voucher because it takes a long time but they also have handicapped/Senior places they may have space in, depends on your county. Next apply for PIPP/HEAP to help with heat/electric. If you haven't already - apply for food stamps & Medicaid & they also can help with transportation for doctors appointments & sometimes shopping. My local senior center does a lot of help, they did my transportation for months due to a broken femur & I couldn't drive. It's all a lot of work to get all the balls rolling but it will be worth it if you can get some of the help. Oh yeah also look into the PRC Program thru welfare office & they may be able to get a grant for you to set up your truck. I wish you luck & spoons! ✌️ Peace

Brother, I hear you. Medically retired Army Infantry here. I'm rated at 80% and the leap for me to cover that last 20% is many, many things added. Hearing isn't covered any longer, because they provided ear-pro. Yes, the same ear-pro you see on the lawsuit commercials. Even though I dropped 120 mm mortars for a living, it's 'fuck you'. Even if they they did, I think it was rated 10 - 15%, but let's say it was 10%. That is now 10% of the remaining 20%, so that is 2% to add to my 80%, Now I'm at 82%, so I get paid 80%. Next, let's say another rating is added at 10%, that is used towards the remaining 18%, so 1.8 %. Now we are at 83.8% getting paid 80% still. It would take so many things to get to 100%. It is absurd. I am sure you know all this, I get the joke. This is mostly for those that haven't experienced the VA rating system. We just fuck off and move along.

I'm not an American but like many Europeans (I'm Swiss and Portuguese), I worry about my friends and family in the US (NY, California and Missouri) and also of the consequences of a Trump presidency for the American population and also, it's unavoidable impact on the US foreign policies and the global geopolitical situation. I hope for everyone that Trump will not be re-elected. Is Biden the best candidate the Democratic party can provide? Hell, no! But almost anything is better than Trump! Thanks for your amazing rants! I wish we had more people like you in my country! Among my friends, I have a US military veteran friend who's not getting helped for his PTSD because he didn't develop symptoms while in service. That's nuts! He's likely going to come to Europe to get proper treatment! Americans always spew out... even to me, "Thanks for your service!" and that nice but that doesn't do shit for US veterans. I can relate on a basic level with his situation because I was a military EMT myself and suffer from PTSD from my time serving the population in Portugal as an ambulance driver and crewman engaging in often brutal highway accidents, search and rescue missions and corpse retrieval. I got injured then, destroying both my knees and my back was also damaged but only showed symptoms later. Years later when I burned out (and got a drug induced hepatitis due to the stupid amount of painkillers I took to go through the day) while trying to finish my mechanical engineering degree and working full time. I lost everything and got no help from my country and was offered a 300 and something euro pension which didn't even paid for my rent. Being Swiss as well, I dragged my ill body (54kg 119lbs when my normal weight is 75kg 165lbs) to my homecountry of Switzerland hitchhiking and sleeping in the street until I reached Geneva and spend the first 4 months in a homeless shelter and have been now for almost five years in an hotel waiting to get an apartment. But not everything is bad. I finally started psychotherapy and got officially disabled. I'm now thinking of slowly restarting my life. I still have severe pain issues but I'm getting helped finally. I just wish my friend didn't have to feel so abandoned as I felt by the country he served.
The veteran, Gregory, who wrote that rant deserves so much more than he has gotten from our country. 💔 There are many people who do not fully understand chronic severe pain. People tell you to "tune it out" or "buck up." Yes, people in chronic pain can do that (and do do that) already. But when it the pain is intense enough, and is unrelenting, then there comes a point where that is no longer humanly possible. There are so many people don't get that! (He has tried to change careers and make a go of it 5 different times!! This is obviously not a man who gives up easily, or who has not worked as hard as he possibly could to be self-sufficient and an upstanding member of our society). I'm so sorry, sir. Unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do to help you except to thank you for your service and to offer my condolences for your circumstances. But I really really hope someone who hears this rant can help you. You are more than deserving of it. 🤗
Thank you so much. Yes, the very first thing the VA did was put me through a Conscience Behavior Training (CBT) class over 5 weeks. What a joke. I gleaned a couple things, but most of it is ridiculous when my pain is this bad.

(I think it's one of the better styles of therapy out there since it focuses on empowering people to implement practical and realistic solutions to their problems). But yes, I can see how it can only go so far in addressing your pain issues.

Mr. Black. You did an absolutely excellent and amazing job of reading Greg’s story. I don’t think I could have done it as well because I was literally in tears diring and after you read it. I am a Vietnam Era veteran, far more fortunate than Greg Douglass nd many other veterans that soan the disability spectrum. We were promised VA care for our service; yet, the federal government shoves aside their responsibilities and diligence in fulfilling the promises made to all veterans. I personally find that the VA is an absolute nightmare to deal with. The horror stories that most countrymen don’t hear is a defening story of denial and gaslighting. Her is a prime example of federal VA negligence. I have a personal friend who is now 94 years old who served in both the US Navy and then the US Army during the Korean Conflict (a.k.a, war) who is partially disabled and is now suffering with dementia. His military records were lost in a fire in St. Louis and the storage facility tha houses all military records. He has been refused any VA care because they have no records of his service. They told him if he could find other comrades in arms whom he served with and could testify that he was in the service with them and if they have military records that can be found, then he might be able to secure “some” benefits. Now how in the world does he do that when every person he servedvwith has passed away? WTF! To make matters worse, his next door neighbor a Vietnam Era veteran recueves 100% benefits even though he is not disabled and this schmuck NEVER saw action in the war because he was stationed in the US the entire time and was never involved in any accident that could even remotely qualify him for benefits. This is just one out of many things that veterans such as myself are putting up with. I have met so many whosevrecords were lost in that fire due to myopic feds that thought the facility was forever protected from mishaps and acts of God. Even the IT industry knows that it MUST HAVE BACKUPS … but; not the miserable morons. I know of orhers refused the operating costs of leg amputation due to cancer causing events during there service even when they said it was service related. Or service people who were written off as dead during the gulf war by an Army colonel of the take for getting all of the death and disability insurance they were owed, fighting to say hey you miserable fucks … I am still alive and still serving the country. This person was also a member of President George H. Bush’s Military Cabinet. Sadly, he passed away with pancreatic cancer. Sadly, the stories are unending. Stories of denying help to those that have served. It is likebthe story of all Native Americans who sat and continue to sit in the face of the Federal Government who continually refuse to honor the treaties the forged. I, being Cherokee, see that story as well. The ongoung Federal government’s refusal and denial of responsibility. I stand and salute Greg Douglass and all veterans like him. I thank all of them for their service. I publically curse the Federal government who continue to fuck over people who fought in wars for them. God bless Greg and take care of him.

I'm just having trouble figuring out how I get a power wheelchair, a converted minivan, and a place to live (preferably with only one move) that gives me year- round access to a pool. And since all three require at least one other to already be done, I don't know how I accomplish this.

I agree, the idea of the black community, doesn't exist. It's an idea that has been the catalyst for brain washing for a long time, because each person is their own. Yet, some of these voters see this and ignore it. It infuriates me to see a group of these black voters willing will vote for their own suppression. Do you want to know why? Thank you. I've been looking at moving to either Florida or Southern California so I have sunny weather to swim all year round. It will be hard enough to move once, I don't really want to move twice, once to get a short term lease to be in the area and able to home shop. But the big problem is each place wants $75 to $80 to run my credit, which also hurts my credit. What a mess our housing has become.

26:48 I'm an ex-conservative. I was also in the military for 10 years. But due to my status, I was a nominally reservist classification, and due to how I was treated by my unit, that is I was deployed, I have never been able to get veteran anything... You see, the GOP, way back when, decided that they were going to add language to bills dealing with how you deploy reservists. Essentially, if you are deployed for less than 180 days, each time, you are never going to get "points" to veterancy. So even though, I was deployed literally year long for period of over 5 years, and had, prior to that for those other 5 years been deployed for approximately two of those five, I am not considered a veteran. This is because the unit I was in always made sure that my orders showed 179 days, they would then issue new orders, literally the next day for another 179 days... As such, things like my asthma which is due entirely due to things that I did in the military, my hearing which also is out especially in one ear, entirely due to my job in the military, and a couple of other little ailments like the botched work they did on my teeth, are not covered nor will I ever be able to get coverage by veterans affairs. It does not surprise me that this poor Marine, got screwed. Many of us get screwed. Because the top 1% want the 1% that actually serves, to do it cheaply. Never mind the fact that many people who served with me and under me, for I was an NCO, had to live on food stamps while doing full-time in the military. Yes a reservist can be in charge of active duty, and in my case I was also training them.
The GOP is antimilitary. They do not support the military, they just like to drape the flag around themselves. They do everything possible to deny access to anybody who has served, and for combat vets, never mind just regular vets, it's inexcusable that they are not getting all of the care they're supposed to get
I joined the military to serve my country, I could make and did make later a lot more money outside of the military, I did not serve 10 years to be treated like a used tissue paper, once soiled then to be disposed of and forgotten... And this is doubly so for all of those who were combat vets, it is inexcusable for their care not to be 100% taken care of by veterans affairs regardless if things happen during, before, or after their service. And this is not just about health care this should be about all promises, like the GI Bill. Anybody who joins the military should automatically have access without having to put any money in, because they were already trying to get food stamps to eat, into a GI Bill that they'll use in the future. Never mind the fairness, the fact is anybody who uses the GI Bill, will automatically pay more in taxes in the future than the GI Bill could possibly have cost. But the GOP decided that they wanted to reduce the cost so that they could increase expenditures that are solely aimed at the rich, or give them undeserved tax breaks

There are way too many veterans that are ignored and failed every damn day. My son, Greg Douglas, falls into depression every damn time the VA has failed him. For instance, services for housing aren’t available until you are homeless. How is that helpful? Also, the cost of renting today is not taken into account. They only look at what you earn. My son is paying $1,900 a month for rent and at the time he couldn’t work was only making $1,700. That amount did not qualify him for housing benefits. Thank you for all you did for our country and I’m so sorry you have received so little for that service!

You need to find the patient advocate at your VA facility. There’s also a new program with mental health; we are each assigned to a program manager who ensures any barrier to care is eliminated. They can guide you to the right advocates too.
Not sure about out where you are, here in Cali we have veterans homes where there’s assisted living. Combined with Medicare our VA coverage will pay for in home care depending on needs.
Call the main VA number and file a claim to get assisted with free van rides for chair or equipment challenged vets. They can literally pick you up at your door to help you get down steps to the van. My hubby got that lift thing for his scooter-installed by VA-and they’ve covered a bunch of after market add ons for comfort and accessibility. Keep pushing for what you need!!
Also…
If that treatment improves your quality of life, and your mental well being-then your VA advocate can find a way to get you that treatment off campus or at another facility.
Don’t give up!! You will get there dude.
You deserve to be cared for, that was the contract.
The VA can also pay to retrain you if any of your disability is service connected and caused you to be unemployed in your trade. There are jobs we can do from home and they provide a lot of necessary equipment for the training and for employment.

Thank you. I have been working with the VA, even the patient advocate. The VA in Providence, RI has been pretty awful. I have called the patient advocate several times for various issues I've had and they are worthless. They usually tell me to go back to the Healthcare team I'm having problems with and they do nothing. I've been waiting for over a year to have a hearing about my best cancer and I don't even have a hearing date. I'm still trying to push them, but I don't feel like I'm getting anywhere and I'm losing all hope. Thanks.

Mr. Greg Douglas, I am truly sorry for your condition. My father was a veteran of the Vietnam war and I personally cared for him until the day he died. He was lucky enough not to have suffered from exposure to the chemical nightmare others like yourself did but he did for the rest of his life live with the 12 confirmed kills he made as a fkn corp man, (a fkn field medic!!) during his 2 tours. It haunted him til the day he died.
Anyway, I hope some doctor out there will do something selfless, not for the money, and help you at least live without pain. What the actual fk!! The reason I brought up my Dad is because he wouldn't let me join the military after what he saw and had to do while he served. Although many of my friends did and some did not return and some are facing a laundry list of physical and mental health issues today. I hope some one would act selflessly to help you. I'm so sorry for the pain and the frustration you are having to deal with just from the act of serving your country when it was most needed. Shame on them for turning you away.

I have Fibromyalgia & Lupus, I do understand what you are feeling & the excruciating pain nerves give you. I get woken up by the pain; It feels like every nerve in your body is screaming!!
If you have SSI I would first apply for a Housing Voucher because it takes a long time but they also have handicapped/Senior places they may have space in, depends on your county.
Next apply for PIPP/HEAP to help with heat/electric.
If you haven't already - apply for food stamps & Medicaid & they also can help with transportation for doctors appointments & sometimes shopping. My local senior center does a lot of help, they did my transportation for months due to a broken femur & I couldn't drive.
It's all a lot of work to get all the balls rolling but it will be worth it if you can get some of the help.
Oh yeah also look into the PRC Program thru welfare office & they may be able to get a grant for you to set up your truck.

Brother, I hear you. Medically retired Army Infantry here. I'm rated at 80% and the leap for me to cover that last 20% is many, many things added. Hearing isn't covered any longer, because they provided ear-pro. Yes, the same ear-pro you see on the lawsuit commercials. Even though I dropped 120 mm mortars for a living, it's 'fuck you'. Even if they they did, I think it was rated 10 - 15%, but let's say it was 10%. That is now 10% of the remaining 20%, so that is 2% to add to my 80%, Now I'm at 82%, so I get paid 80%. Next, let's say another rating is added at 10%, that is used towards the remaining 18%, so 1.8 %. Now we are at 83.8% getting paid 80% still. It would take so many things to get to 100%. It is absurd. I am sure you know all this, I get the joke. This is mostly for those that haven't experienced the VA rating system. We just fuck off and move along.

I'm not an American but like many Europeans (I'm Swiss and Portuguese), I worry about my friends and family in the US (NY, California and Missouri) and also of the consequences of a Trump presidency for the American population and also, it's unavoidable impact on the US foreign policies and the global geopolitical situation. I hope for everyone that Trump will not be re-elected. Is Biden the best candidate the Democratic party can provide? Hell, no! But almost anything is better than Trump! Thanks for your amazing rants! I wish we had more people like you in my country!
Among my friends, I have a US military veteran friend who's not getting helped for his PTSD because he didn't develop symptoms while in service. That's nuts! He's likely going to come to Europe to get proper treatment! Americans always spew out... even to me, "Thanks for your service!" and that nice but that doesn't do shit for US veterans.
I can relate on a basic level with his situation because I was a military EMT myself and suffer from PTSD from my time serving the population in Portugal as an ambulance driver and crewman engaging in often brutal highway accidents, search and rescue missions and corpse retrieval. I got injured then, destroying both my knees and my back was also damaged but only showed symptoms later. Years later when I burned out (and got a drug induced hepatitis due to the stupid amount of painkillers I took to go through the day) while trying to finish my mechanical engineering degree and working full time. I lost everything and got no help from my country and was offered a 300 and something euro pension which didn't even paid for my rent.
Being Swiss as well, I dragged my ill body (54kg 119lbs when my normal weight is 75kg 165lbs) to my homecountry of Switzerland hitchhiking and sleeping in the street until I reached Geneva and spend the first 4 months in a homeless shelter and have been now for almost five years in an hotel waiting to get an apartment. But not everything is bad. I finally started psychotherapy and got officially disabled. I'm now thinking of slowly restarting my life. I still have severe pain issues but I'm getting helped finally. I just wish my friend didn't have to feel so abandoned as I felt by the country he served.

The veteran, Gregory, who wrote that rant deserves so much more than he has gotten from our country. 💔 There are many people who do not fully understand chronic severe pain. People tell you to "tune it out" or "buck up." Yes, people in chronic pain can do that (and do do that) already. But when it the pain is intense enough, and is unrelenting, then there comes a point where that is no longer humanly possible. There are so many people don't get that!
(He has tried to change careers and make a go of it 5 different times!! This is obviously not a man who gives up easily, or who has not worked as hard as he possibly could to be self-sufficient and an upstanding member of our society).
I'm so sorry, sir. Unfortunately, there isn't anything I can do to help you except to thank you for your service and to offer my condolences for your circumstances. But I really really hope someone who hears this rant can help you. You are more than deserving of it. 🤗
Thank you so much. Yes, the very first thing the VA did was put me through a Conscience Behavior Training (CBT) class over 5 weeks. What a joke. I gleaned a couple things, but most of it is ridiculous when my pain is this bad.

I like CBT as well. (I think it's one of the better styles of therapy out there since it focuses on empowering people to implement practical and realistic solutions to their problems). But yes, I can see how it can only go so far in addressing your pain issues.

I agree, CBT has some good things to offer. I think it is one of the best therapies out there since it empowers people to find realistic and practical solutions to their problems. But yes, I completely agree - at a certain point it will fall short of adequately helping severe pain.

Mr. Black. You did an absolutely excellent and amazing job of reading Greg’s story. I don’t think I could have done it as well because I was literally in tears diring and after you read it. I am a Vietnam Era veteran, far more fortunate than Greg Douglass nd many other veterans that soan the disability spectrum. We were promised VA care for our service; yet, the federal government shoves aside their responsibilities and diligence in fulfilling the promises made to all veterans. I personally find that the VA is an absolute nightmare to deal with. The horror stories that most countrymen don’t hear is a defening story of denial and gaslighting.
Her is a prime example of federal VA negligence. I have a personal friend who is now 94 years old who served in both the US Navy and then the US Army during the Korean Conflict (a.k.a, war) who is partially disabled and is now suffering with dementia. His military records were lost in a fire in St. Louis and the storage facility tha houses all military records. He has been refused any VA care because they have no records of his service. They told him if he could find other comrades in arms whom he served with and could testify that he was in the service with them and if they have military records that can be found, then he might be able to secure “some” benefits. Now how in the world does he do that when every person he servedvwith has passed away? WTF! To make matters worse, his next door neighbor a Vietnam Era veteran recueves 100% benefits even though he is not disabled and this schmuck NEVER saw action in the war because he was stationed in the US the entire time and was never involved in any accident that could even remotely qualify him for benefits.
This is just one out of many things that veterans such as myself are putting up with. I have met so many whosevrecords were lost in that fire due to myopic feds that thought the facility was forever protected from mishaps and acts of God. Even the IT industry knows that it MUST HAVE BACKUPS … but; not the miserable morons. I know of orhers refused the operating costs of leg amputation due to cancer causing events during there service even when they said it was service related. Or service people who were written off as dead during the gulf war by an Army colonel of the take for getting all of the death and disability insurance they were owed, fighting to say hey you miserable fucks … I am still alive and still serving the country. This person was also a member of President George H. Bush’s Military Cabinet. Sadly, he passed away with pancreatic cancer. Sadly, the stories are unending. Stories of denying help to those that have served. It is likebthe story of all Native Americans who sat and continue to sit in the face of the Federal Government who continually refuse to honor the treaties the forged. I, being Cherokee, see that story as well. The ongoung Federal government’s refusal and denial of responsibility.
I stand and salute Greg Douglass and all veterans like him. I thank all of them for their service. I publically curse the Federal government who continue to fuck over people who fought in wars for them. God bless Greg and take care of him.
Thank you for writing about your experiences. I can assure you that Greg appreciates all your stories. I think the hardest thing being his mom is watching how each denial from the VA tears him down and sinks him into depression. All your kind words mean so much to him.

It is a message that should be presented to the Federal House and Senate as well as the President. I don’t know how old you are Lewis….im 64 and yes, the world has indeed gone mad imo. We won’t experience what once was…bittersweet ….we get older, we worry about our children and grandchildren, yet life will go on I’m sure. Glad I’m not too young anymore although I feel 25🤣we live with good memories, nostalgia and wanted progress in all ways only to find we’ve gone backwards somehow🤷♀️wtf is it all about???

I'm just having trouble figuring out how I get a power wheelchair, a converted minivan, and a place to live (preferably with only one move) that gives me year- round access to a pool. And since all three require at least one other to already be done, I don't know how I accomplish this.

It is a complete waste of space for someone not to understand where they came from and how they got here. I agree, the idea of the black community, doesn't exist. It's an idea that has been the catalyst for brain washing for a long time, because each person is their own.
However, black voters... are quantifiable and legitimate. The power that they possess with their ballots is unmistakable, after fighting for so long for the rights, and still even fighting today.
Yet, some of these voters see this and ignore it. It infuriates me to see a group of these black voters willing will vote for their own suppression. Do you want to know why?
We fund black peoples education, like we look at the last peice of bread.
