Bode! Icon. Beast. Great video. But You know, I hate that last stat. Just about the Olympic medals. I’m an American, and I cannot stand that Americans don’t understand the greatness of having consistent results of the World Cup. Why don’t you put that up there? To be honest that’s what skiing’s all about. World Cup consistency. The Olympics are cool, but it pales in comparison. So here it is:
Seasons:
16 - (1998-2012, 2014)
Wins:
33
Podiums:
79
Overall titles:
2 - (2005, 2008)
Discipline titles:
6 - (2 SG, 1 GS, 3 K)
As a Swiss I could have idolized many indigenous skiers in my youth, but Bode was my hero from the moment he set foot in the World Cup. I'm still riding his Atomic ProModel from time to time; hell of a ski by a hell of a rider!
I skied Cannon Mountain last Friday. Bode's stomping grounds. The front 5 are where it's at on that mountain.
I added a like to this video on Dec.2, 2023. Thank you, Bode, for being one of my heroes!
Me too my dad often criticized my with this “ reckless abandonment
I remember when I was a kid, I always was watching very close when Bode was skiing. His balance and sheer will to stay on track is incredible.
He may not have been the best in technique, but the commitment and will power is what made him so unique.
One of the great in his time!
do you remember how he rode on one ski?)
@samara34671 He'd do what Happy Gilmore couldn't do...and send Bob Barker to bed.
Make more of this video's. This is great.
Bode Miller is just fantastic
Will be always the BEST ❤️
King of balance
Never heard of this guy until I watched him on Special Forces. What a champion!
He's an incredible athlete.
Thank you, great video. Even the best arent perfect. Bode sure was fantastic.
Damn a real madman
Bode is the greatest...My dad passed away 4 years ago...He used to Pack up the skiis in the truck, drive up to Burke Mountain,VT.
My favorite 🤩
RESPECT!
Le plus aimé.
He's my hero
a real monster
ALL TIME GREAT !
truly AWESOME athletic ability and a FINE skier, Bode we will always remember you!!⛷
beyond 👏👏👏
The final boss for the Jerrys
Bode's giant balls are what give him so much speed.
I’m just wondering how he remains aerodynamic!

Looks like me on a blue groomer.
you can tell by his skiing that he grew up on the boilerplate trails of cannon mt nh
Bode è stato OLTRE!!
Much like JC Killy in his time.
Or Franz Klammer
Bode was loved by the Europeans. There are clips on CZcams of Italians and Austrians fawning all over him. The expectations were great for him. Unfortunately, he never fully realized his potential. Many don't. But many never had anything near the potential he had on a pair of skis.
Ignorant comment; he more than realized his potential. An absolute achiever. He is an Olympic and World Championship gold medalist, a two-time overall World Cup champion in 2005 and 2008, and the most successful male American alpine ski racer of all time. He is also considered one of the greatest World Cup racers of all time with 33 race victories and being one of five men (and last to date) to win World Cup events in all five disciplines. He is the only skier with five or more victories in each discipline. Miller won six medals in the Winter Olympics. Miller is one of 5 skiers who have won Olympic medals in 4 different disciplines. Six discipline World Cup titles and four World Championships titles in four different disciplines (giant slalom, combined, super-G and downhill) and one silver medal in super-G.
@@rickroll9086is that all?
(Kidding of course. Bode & Hermann Maier are my all time favourites).
Possibly the OP meant some people expected Bode to win every weekend? Or be a Mikaela Shiffrin before Mikaela Shiffrin (winning 50 World Cup races before 24 years old, or a gold medal at 6 straights worlds, etc.).
He only had one gear. Full speed
Fook me! Are we sure he isn’t a superhero?
Freakish athletic ability and completely fearless. Too bad he didn’t have the discipline to realize his full potential.
I‘ve just read a newspaper interview where he stated that for him motivation wasn’t about achieving his full potential as measured in the racing or title statistics. Bode lives by his own rules and wanted to enjoy life as a young guy in his 20‘s. He‘s a strong personality and wanted to win on his own terms, while still celebrating life. He also lived through tragedies such as the death of his younger brother or one of his daughters which made him very compassionate about other people‘s suffering. For me he‘s not just a fearless and outstanding athlete, he’s a role model and an inspiration. I wish him and his family all the best for the future.
And people say Shiffren is the GOAT. LOL
