  • Here is a Revell 1971 Plymouth Cuda Street Machine kit that I swapped the wheels and changed the motor to a 440+6. Did this one as more of a mildly modified day two build.

    I've always loved the white Billboards, makes it pop and screams 70's ... thanks for sharing ! 😇👍🏼

    You build the best stock models. And your information on the real cars is super. My favourite models are stock slightly modified. I'm a MOPAR fan, but I of your cars are cool. Keep putting out those great builds.👍

    The color combination on this one is great. Glad you went with the white billboards and not the black. Very nice and love the day 2 builds (most of mine are day 2 builds).

  • @captnemomodelingzone7850

    Great history lesson on Mopar. Because I know very little about them. That is a awesome build amazing detailing. Have a great Labor Day weekend 🤠🤠😎😎🏁🏁🏁👍

    Looks great Raoul, my 71 Satellite I drove when I was in my 20s was B7 Blue. Great job on the Cuda. I got some clay to hold air cleaners & hoods on, works good. Keep up the history lessons for the next generation, Especially Mopar!

  • @steelcityrailroad5095

    Nice Cuda! You think in the future you could show us how you display your collection and keep the clean and safe?

    That is interesting....the 440 4bbl Super Commando was still available in the GTX,Charger RT and Sport Fury GT for 71...

      @RoadRunnergarage8570 Před rokem

      If I remember correctly these were the only 3 cars available with the 440 4bbl Super Commando in 71..

      You may be right but I would have to write it down.

    Another oddity is the fact that the Shaker was standard in the Hemicuda..yet optional on the Hemi Challenger RT ..

  • @erics3424
    @erics3424 Před rokem

    Hi Raoul! Love this one! Especially the colors. I have a '68 Hemi Charger in the works with a dark blue exterior and a bright blue interior on the bench, that you inspired. I am kind of surprised you didn't use the 440 out of the '69 Super Bee but still a very cool build.
    Looking forward to seeing further Mopars from your collection and your future builds as well.

      I was thinking the same thing but the detail on the AMT motor is much better. But not sure why I didn’t at the time.

    Hello Raoul. Do you ever light any of your car kits? If so, what type of lighting?

  • @keithcooke3154
    @keithcooke3154 Před rokem

    Manufacturers always lied about hp ratings for insurance reasons. A 426 hemi could crack the 500+ hp threshold just by changing the ignition timing. Nice background story.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před rokem

      Thank you. Sometimes they were not in the best tune right off the transporter. That is another reason the ratings were a bit low.

      Also carb cars that are built day in Detroit and they go to the east coast like Gulf coast of Alabama FL Ms ECT or Colorado you would be down on power and would have to change jets in carbs and timing and tune carb for elevation back then almost every guy could tune their own motors to get most HP out of it with a timing light and some jets. Now a days you gotta have a lap top and programs to be able to tune your motor tomgetor power. I'm 30 grew up racing asphalt oval track cars started in a 430 rear wheel horsepower superstock when I was ten and love carbs. My hot rod 1969 rambler is a Chrysler 360 pro stock blown drag motor in it carb no fuel injection duel coil ignition and dual msd ignition boxes

    In-line 6???? I know you meant to say slant 6 😱😏😁

  • @johntoob
    @johntoob Před rokem

    Dodge = 6 pack / Plymouth = 6 barrel. Named differently from factory. Just say'n.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před rokem

      Yes you are correct. But many don’t know that and for some reason the Dodge names are remembered. How many people say “In Violet” instead of “Plum Crazy” or “Moulin Rouge” instead of “Panther Pink”? Bonus points if you can give the name of B7 blue for 71 Plymouth. Hint: It’s not Jamaica Blue.

    This kit is pure crap. I hope Revell would update the newer 1/25 1970 kit to a 1971.

    • @TheMuscleCarModeler
      @TheMuscleCarModeler  Před rokem

      You could kit bash this one with the 70. Or find a JoHan 71 or better yet a MPC 71 and kit bash those.

    • @sydrider6023
      @sydrider6023 Před rokem

      @@TheMuscleCarModeler if only a Jo-Han could be found.... You sure did a good job with this only 1/24 exemple of a Cuda. Mine came out of the box and returned to the box a few time...to much work...
      The kit 426 will eventually go with the 1/24 T/A.
