This is automotive engineering excellence not to be confused with some bastardised Lotus built by a tuner famous for ripping his customers off. The car is so shit that that they have only sold half the amount they planned to built and it does not even hold the official top speed record anyway (i.e. speed needs to be measured in both directions on the same track)
You can drink your coffee and check your phone in the veyron ;) In the venom you hope for do not die :p
Its the price which gets me. Why is the venom $1M and an Underground Racing Lambo less than half that?, at the end of the day they are both just tuner cars with over 1000BHP
i don't know... there isn't any development.. expect taking a lotus exige and put 1200hp. It's not a prestigious car. Everyone forget SSC utimate aero but nobody forget the veyron 16.4 ;) it will be always the fastest car wich reach 400kph !
Finally!! someone who understands what a monumental engineering triumph the Veyron is! unlike the tuned lotus, Veyron will forever be in the history books. I was starting to think youtube was filled with fanboys who cant see past top speed. I can hardly believe you exist :s
Being fully honest I respect your opinions and all (so please don't start hating) but I think both the veyron and the venom are overrated. The venom is a psyched up lotus and the veyron isn't the masterpiece bugatti claims it is. I mean it's hella fast, but look at the engine. 16 cylinders, 4 turbo's. With that's much power I could make a bomber plane that works. My favourite car thus is the Aston Martin one-77. Why? It's only marginally slower than the veyron (top= around 375), it has an atmospheric 12 cylinder engine (which sounds gorgeous, and isn't an overkill powerhouse in comparison to the veyron), the car is magnificent to look at. It's more exclusive (450 veyrons VS 77 Astons), and just the overwhelming coolness it surrounds itself with. The veyron is a race car. No matter how fancy it is, it's still Usain Bolt on steroids on a tuxedo. Unlike the Aston which in this context is more like a classy man in a nice tuxedo who happens to be able to run like hell.
What an insane car! Such a brutal speed! This really is mind-blowing.

What about the german Autobahn?
Well that's a great idea. Take the fastest car in the world, run it full speed on the autobahn, one of the most busiest roads in the world... are you nuts? That's like conducting a bomb test in the middle of time square.
I know some guy who often drives his Vitesse on the german Autobahn.. His top speed was about 385 kp/h.. You just have to drive it on a sunday morning if you want to full throttle ;-)
But it's still useless. I mean not the speed... just the whole thing is kinda bullshit. You have a 2 million (whatever western currency) car that is sold on the fact that it's the fastest production car in the world. Now to get your money's worth, you have to either go to VW's exclusive test track or the autobahn in the wee hours of the morning just so you can run out of petrol in 8 minutes and shred your tires in 12 minutes all at the same time. The Veyron isn't a car... it's a giant diamond ring.
Yea it's true, but it wouldn't matter on the brand of car, or how much it costs, you would still have only a couple of options to take it to the limit. I guess the car has respect, like a guy who can lift a world record amount.. He would have to have a really good day & the right set-up with spotters etc to do a big lift.

Top speed is astonishing but the fact that it has and engine with 16 cylinders, it makes it even more impressive! You can have V8 with even more power but nothing, I mean NOTHING beats the mighty sound of this engine!!
Thicker density of air make more drag yes, but thicker density of air will also create greater ignition force. I think the best temp for combination of drag and ifnite is around 15 degrees C

The Veyron is definitely a speed monster but with me being 6'2 I can't see it being that comfortable to drive.

definatly. I'm not a massive Veyron fan, however i absolutley love it for the reason that its a car designed with no compromise what so ever. It must have been a dream come true for the VW engineers to build such a marvel. I remember back when i read about thw Veyron specs back in 03-04 and simply couldnt belive the numbers.
Anyone else notice that the passengers sun glasses stayed on the whole time? I find that incredible

That is spot on. It was an exercise in engineering and to see what could be achieved. It really is a masterpiece in that respect. The very fact that it has such power yet you can use it as your daily driver is a marvel in itself. It Is so much more than a regular supercar. It really is a one off.

Sounds like the best test drive I have ever heard.
Both the Bugatti and the Venom are incredibly complicated and fast care. The reason the Bugatti is so impressive is because it is tame. It's a car that can accelerate insanely fast, reach very high top speeds, and do so without breaking your neck on gear shifts, or annoying you with transmission and exhaust drone is why it's a marvel. Look at the Venom or a tuned Ford GT, you're basically driving a street legal racing car. Fun, but incredibly uncomfortable and inconvenient.
Nope, 2 days ago Guiness restored the Super Sport's top speed of 267.87 mph as the fastest any production car has ever reached. The Hennessey Venom GT only reached a speed of 265mph. Also, with the Venom's roof off they were only able to acheive 230mph
