      Yeah they’ve always been like this for the past ten twenty years. They might not be the most professional or accurate commentators but their passion and love is undeniable, which create a great atmosphere for the viewers

      I prefer English commentating on most other sports, EPL, NBA etc. etc. But F1, I prefer these guys over the English commentators. You are exactly right in saying it sounds like friends commentating on the race, which is a lot more chilled and fun, I just feel like there's way too much shouting going on with the English commentating...

      @@gundamzerostrike If by actual you mean commentators like "lights out and away we go" I think there were but gets fewer. Not many people watching F1 in China now so less investment less real commentators.

      @@gundamzerostrike you can choose the types of commentators actually.
      Some prefer retired drivers, while a lot of people really have little idea about F1, they prefer to learn a bit of F1 knowledge and a lot of F1 jokes.

      actually, this commentation is from great sport channel, located in shanghai. We Chinese people love to watch their streaming coz it's quite halarious. The commentator's room is quite large around 200 meter square

    The funniest thing is that just a lap before, when Max retired, the commentator said he thought Honda's engine has problem, if Perez retired Zhou will get point, of course not cursing Perez just saying IF that happens, just after that Perez really retired so they were so exciting.

      Anyway it seems it's not an engine problem but fuel pump
      This not only happened to RBs, but McLaren on Parc Ferme after quali also changed the fuel pump, Alfa and Haas also have the same issue on testing, and there's a document that saying any team should checked their fuel pump before the race started

    I'm a fan from China and the commentators in this video (from Five-Star Sports) always bring us so much joy and laughter. They are not the most professional in terms of racing, but the atmosphere they offer is the best, and they often have the magic ability to jinx with their words. I'm so glad this clip got uploaded to CZcams! Yesterday was truly a historical day for us Chinese fans!

      Yeah the Wooohhh-ing and little commenting told me these guys werent F1 experts. How about bringing in some Chinese girl idols, as i recall Duan YiXuan aka DDD was the Chinese commentator of one semifinals of Eurovision Song Contest, nice concept, DDD is so beautiful, just wow. Everything is better when you add pretty Chinese girls, i vote Xu YangYuZhuo as co-commentator for F1.

    There are several TV channels in China broadcast F1, the channel in this clip is called "Five Star Sports". The commentator has been comment F1 for like 20 years, he is the most funny and motivating commentator here and we all like him

    Really sceptic of Zhou before the start of the season. I really thought a lot of guys deserved his place a lot more than him.
    He proved me wrong yesterday. I'm sure he'll get rougher times during this season but if he can perform like yesterday on a more regular basis he will not be a bust

      Didn’t Tsunoda have a good debut though? Guy dropped off a cliff after that, then came back a bit at the end.
      We can’t be sure, it’ll be interesting to see how Zhou does next weekend, (by the way, two races in a row is fcking amazing)

    Bro, F1 is gonna be looking at the cheddar cheddar with a Chinese Driver. Its gonna be scenes for Zhou in his first Chinese GP. If China gets thats second race F1 wants, its big time to dip into that economy twice.
    This is as revolutionary as when Yao Ming entered the NBA. Bring so many fresh eyes and fans to the sport. F1 could grow exponentially if Zhou becomes a podium level driver. Him battling with Hamilton for a few laps is like his welcome to F1 type moment. Zhou Guanyu is here, this is big time for the sport.

    I watch the Sky Sports F1 broadcast because I enjoy the commentators, their voices, their delivery and style, but there's something so refreshing about a brand of commentary that isn't so polished and professional and more about reacting live to what's going on in a more unfiltered way.     Can't help but feel our english commentators are holding back, just a bit. I anticipate seeing whether he can keep up the high level, or if he has a dip like Tsunoda experienced last season. (Which is fine as a rookie) Zhou seems like a good guy.

    As someone who speaks both English and Chinese. The Chinese commentators sound like a bunch of bros reacting to F1 in their living room. The Sky English version sound like bunch of retirees having an exicting chat over afternoon tea.
