Saucony Kinvara Pro - It just might be one of the BEST Super Trainers - First Impressions Review

  • Another expensive SUPER TRAINER gets put to the test. The Kinvara Pro was probably the least exciting release of the plated trainers taking the running shoe world by storm, however I finally caved in and thought it was time to get my feet into a pair.....and I am just a little surprised about the performance.

    When you said "I'm just enjoying no rubber on it" I cracked up. 🤣It's good to see someone loving their shoes that much. Seriously, though I guess the outsole is like the Hoka Mach 5 in that way. It's a good idea because I think other than cosmetic wear it will still prove to be quite durable.

      😂😂
      You are right! The Mach 5 is that similar feedback of the soft /smooth impact with no rubber.

    Yesterday got pair delivered - today 1st run in it..
    So far i like it - bigger runner here - it's very protective, not to soft, bouncy, ride is super smooth, not super exiting but very solid, and Infrared colourway is one of the best looking saucony running shoes imo
    It will be good addition for long runs alternating with superblast and prime x 1
    But honestly I think saucony got it totally wrong - marketing team decided to throw all tech they have into new shoe to justify high price tag and jump on band wagon of new category of expensive daily trainers - instead they should lose the plate, name it Shift 4 and price it at Shift level - and instead of disaster they would have good product and way more sales ....
    It reminds me of Shift a bit but also ride is way nicer than Shift 3 - it would be good improvement to Shift line, but instead saucony confused everyone and most likely we won't see 2nd iteration of kinvara pro ..

      I agree with you, I don't think it needs the plate and certainly needs to come down in price!

    It's got the same 3 foams of the Tempus: PWRRUN, PWRRUN+ (sockliner) and PWRRUN PB. But I like the way Saucony employed the foams in the Tempus, i.e. not so much PWRRUN other than for stability purposes, which makes sense because it is more firm and dense. Saucony continue to bring out excellent shoes but perhaps maybe too many of late? When you have the Triumph, Speed, Pro, Elite, Tempus do you need this shoe? Perhaps not. They already have so many shoes that are versatile and high quality. It's a good review and I'm not surprised that it performs well. I just ran in my Tempus yesterday. It's a very good shoe and at a 3rd of the RRP of the Kinvaro Pro at the moment is a value buy.

      I think that's the big question about this shoe.... who actually needs a shoe like this when there are many other options

    I really enjoy your channel. Will you be running at the Sydney Marathon this Sunday? If so, what shoe will you be using?

      Thankyou for the feedback 😃Yes running the Sydney Marathon!! Vaporfly 3 is what I am running in. Are you running?

      @@run-are No, I didn't run it. Please post about your Sydney Marathon experience from the registration, bib pick up, bag check in, race day, etc and of course, how you did in the Vaporfly 3. I think a lot of viewers would be interested especially overseas viewers. I was debating whether to enter for a very long time and decided against it because the bib collection was a bit hard for me to get to from where I live and the cost was quite high too plus other factors. Hope you survived the heat and had a good run.

    How do you compare it to the New Balance SC Trainer V2?

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 9 měsíci +3

      They are like chalk and cheese. I think I initially enjoyed the ride more on the SC Trainer until it died. If they morphed into one shoe it would be pretty amazing. The Kinvara feels a lot stiffer and the rocker is more like an endorphin feel. I think the Kinvara is the more comfortable shoe. Totally different underfoot experience.

    Is the outsole (midsole) Power Run the same material as the one in the Ride 15? I found the Ride 15 midsole boring to death with no energy return 😢

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I believe so, the ride isn't energetic at all just really smooth. The ribbed tread gives a soft impact feeling but the shoe isn't overly soft. The PWRRUN PB gives the midsole just enough live, that combined with the rocker is really nice

    Nice review!
    Can you please name 2-3 other shoes that the foam is similar? Because some people say the foam is not soft. Thank you very much!

    • @run-are
      @run-are  Před 9 měsíci +1

      I don't think the foam is soft it's more medium and dense, but the impact off the road is soft and smooth (if that makes any sense). This sensation is achieved by having no outsole rubber and just foam.
      I find outsoles contribute significantly to the overall ride. Less rubber is better IMO but that comes at a cost of durability.
      But yes the foam isn't soft or squishy!
      Thanks for the comment.
