Seth Meyers uses comedy to push the shows political agenda. You might think it's just a late night comedy show (and it is) but it's also much more than that. It's a mouthpiece of the 'progressive left'.
As it does push political ideas then it seems to me that giving at least some thought to the opposition's ideas is worth some consideration.
Look, there are a lot of different ways I could respond to that, but I'm going to cut to the chase - he doesn't have to be fair to Trump because Trump is a god damn fool. "I am the best, we'll win all of the deals and I'll look into maybe getting rid of all of these people even if they're completely innocent, and also I might torture people more and commit war crimes to get the bad guys because that's what America needs to do to be GREAT again" is fucking nonsense.
I've been near constantly nauseous since he announced. Now I feel an overwhelming sense of dread. I'm about to go outside and join those people holding the signs saying "The End Is NEAR!"

Wtf happened to the Republican party? It's gone so far down hill over the last 20 years, and people are still hanging on. The Democrats have done the same thing. Bowing down to big business. It's time for a new left party to come, and re balance the scales of humanity. Big business should not own the people. Please help in the fight against climate change, for my children, and yours. I own companies, and I pollute a lot. But I'm trying. I've worked outside everyday for 25 years! I woke up every fn day and checked the jetstream. I'm not a climate scientist, but I have paid attention for years upon years, daily! The planet is extremely out of its natural phase! And you can see where the jetstream has shifted extremely! Even if climate change wasn't man made, (which it is due to population growth, and development, combined with global data) then why wouldn't we want to at least try to be better stewards of the planet, and give ourselves a chance?

robert cervacio Several reasons. The first is his ideology "Socialism" is proven throughout history even now in the world, that it does not work. You would have to curtail the basic human condition of self-seeking (selfishness) amongst people for it to work. Needless to say, I try to stay grounded in reality, so I can't see any proven evidence where consolidating power into fewer hands is a good thing. America's entire governmental structure was designed to oppose this very notion. My next major reason is because what he wants to do cost money. Money which we don't have. Who does have the money? Central Banks. He will be begging the slave masters for more debt to fund his "proven to fail" ideology. I do think he is an honest man, but being honest isn't enough. I can be honest about how heroin feels (which is good), but it doesn't mean that heroin is good for you. See what I'm saying?

We know what's corrupting the government and he's the only one really trying to fight it. Also, Donald plan doesn't seem very smart. He want to lower taxes for everyone but increase on government spending in war. Our education system is going to crumble.
