  • This is my review of Dragon's new Tiger I kit 6820. This particular kit depicts Tiger 131 from the Bovington Tank Museum as it was when it was captured in Tunisia. It has some great new parts in it, but also shares most parts with 6730 the Wittmann command Tiger kit 6730.

    It looks like a massive kit Adam. With some cool new parts. I appreciate you taking the time to do such a thorough review. BTW...Scalehobbyist is selling this kit for $63.99 and I ordered one this morning.

      TacticalJackalope 63? Holy cow that's very good. I think that's a much smarter thing to do than buying it directly from Dragon.

      Yeah, I saw that yesterday and almost wanted to throw up after I received this kit on Wed afternoon as I paid around $80.00 after waiting 4 months. I'll never pre-order from Dragon-USA again. I'm in the middle of a gunsmithing project at the moment rebuilding and replacing parts of my custom AR-15 build. Once I finish the AR, I'll return to the model bench to finish the Stug III.

    been trying to decide what to do next
    was a dragon or the full interior from takom or ryefeild
    I think I'll hone my skills a bit more on this first then tackle the full
    you have helped me not make mistakes with dragon kits
    I've heard so much good and bad and your reviews and tiger for dummies got me over the learning curve so I can't say thank you for your time enough
    I'm thinking of adding tracks for it but not sure if I need to or which ones to get but I'll get that figured out hopefully lol
    had decided on whitman's till you got to the zimmerit part where it wasnt done that well and thin detail
    if I do zim I'll have to do a aftermarket kit to get it better than molded in on my king tiger full interior kit just to be safe
    again thank you so much

    Nicr review of a gapfiller. CH made more kits and I include them as they are under Dragons management. This kit contain parts from the DAK kit and the first release of Wittmann CH. This is a gapfiller as you can make it a Kharkov Tiger or Tigers used in conjunction with Hermann Göring division on Sicily 1943.

      +ebbergman I agree. I only don't mention the CH White boxes as they're limited runs and way more expensive. And honestly you can get the sprues 90% of the time in standard run Dragon kits.

    • @Tony196180
      @Tony196180 Před 9 lety

      Hobby is getting way to expensive, at this rate I will have to sell off some stuff to keep my Tiger collection up to date, I seen on Ebay there is a white box Otto Carius Mid, its at $135.00 , to rich for my blood, and a Wittmanns last Tiger white box $249.00 ,
      NOT ME !

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  Před 9 lety

      Tony Quinn
      I would avoid both of those. The Wittmanns last tiger is 99% the same as 6383, just some command antennas and decals are different, and the Carius one only has a different mantlet, tracks and decals from 6700. All things you can modify yourself easily.

      Adam Mann Dragonusaonline just had 25% off this past weekend but this kit was shown OOS. After the sale it showed in stock. Funny that. I got it because some kits on my order were OOS and they let me substitute it with the 25% off. Dragon dollars and free shipping over $99 got it down to $56.21. On Hobbylinc I got 2 for $56.35 each shipped using reward points I had saved up. The last was from TowerHobbies using a $15 off promo code and free shipping over $49 for a total of $56.99 shipped.

    You are buying this to do 131. Whatever differences between this and other kits is what makes 131 different. Of course they have different versions of the same kit, that's the whole point. Lol...if you want an accurate 131, then this kit is for you, if you just want a early tiger, there are plenty of other kits out there.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  Před 4 lety +1

    Cyber-hobby will rebox it and sell it as the "Fury" tiger and they will be on epay for $150. Just like those girls und panzer kits. $80 for this kit is just the "now" price. It will be $60 in a month or so.

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  Před 9 lety

      chris smith Agreed. I pre-order them from Dragon USA and that's not cheap. The Wittmann seems to have gone down to about $60. Until that is they become rarer and then go back up.

    • @freewill51
      @freewill51 Před 9 lety

      So since you own both and have reviewed and handled both, which one would be a better deal when the prices equal out? I know the Wittmann kit has the five figures but are there any other extras that would tip the scales? (That question is assuming the buyer is like me and does not have a favorite Tiger era, but Just wants to build a Tiger kit.)

    • @AdamMann3D
      @AdamMann3D  Před 9 lety

      chris smith
      If you don't care about figures. this one would be able to (if you're crafty) build both Tigers. I'm pretty sure all the parts for the S04 kit are all in here. So you can pretty much build any early Tiger with this. It has both Feifel types where the Wittmann only has one. So as just a tank kit, this one. You'd just need the images of the instructions for the Wittmann one, which if you need you could get pretty easy.

    • @freewill51

      JonATHAN BAE Nam It's not an $80 kit. That's just what people want for them. Give it two months and they will sell for $50 - $60. Styrene is cheap, but all new molds would be really expensive.
