I bought online a marvellous vintage Anne Klein woolon blend coat but it has some deep wrinkles and maybe I'll return it :(

Hi. May I ask. Is "steam cleaning" done the same way? What exactly *is* steam cleaning? Thank you. -El

The basic idea is pretty much the same- using steam from a heated device, but to sanitise and freshen clothing (and, of course, any wrinkles will disappear too!). The heat of the steam kills bacteria, which cause smells, but they don't remove stains. Investing in a good iron is probably a better all round choice, but if you were a vintage clothing business, a steamer can be useful, as they a bit easier to heft around if you're doing a lot of garments every day.

can i do this to puffer jacket?

You can, but be VERY careful. Have your iron on the lowest heat setting, and don't let the iron touch the fabric ever. This is very important because you can melt or damage the outer fabric and any special finishes that have been applied to it. It won't fluff up the filling of the jacket though, so it's no good for doing that.

Glad you found it useful- it's much easier than trying to wrestle a heavy coat on an ironing board, I find!
