Lesson 35 - How old are you?

1. Yes, you must say the "th" and "d" in "birthday." Listen to a few samples in online dictionaries.
2. You are talking about linking sounds. I may cover this in a future pronunciation lesson. For now, I recommend visiting EnglishwithStacy. She covers these kinds of patterns in fast speech.

Don't use the verb have/ has to express age.

Do you know any sentences else to ask "someone's age"?
Hello. You could ask, "How old are you?"
But that's only acceptable with a child. In the U.S., we're often careful about asking other people's age. If it seems like the person would answer, then at least start your question with permission: "Do you mind if I ask how old you are?"
In an official situation, a doctor, nurse, government official, etc. could ask, "What's your date of birth?"
