I love how Alan's always annunciating his words in a weird way. Like so much emphasis on the Ts and com-post, his voice is already funny enough. That being said, he's so underutilized in season 1, so seeing more of him in the future would be cool AF.
For sure, he has a brilliant way of announcing the end of words, like when he says “I just wanted my cheeeeese”
kinda reminds me of whenver Zach, Oney or Lyle do their over the top Tomar impressions
Notably, he's talking very normally when confronting the dude in the wall during the pilot episode.
I think it's a brilliant move and possibly points towards alan being neurodivergent. He found a place with the smiling friends where he can be himself (which translates even so far that he can trust in them when in public), but once he's alone with another person (especially one that's making him uncomfortable) he's immediately masking and behaving "normal".
I am obsessed with the way he says "dir•ty brown wa•ter" in the new episode

I think the main thing that completely fucks me about his character, is that Alan enunciates things really weird but once things get weird to him he starts talking normally again. It’s so funny
Boss changes his voice too. Like during meetings he talks normally, but outside of them he talks in a childish tone, and will sometimes use a country accent like when he was telling Pim where to get twigs. Yet, no one questions it.
Especially during that phone call with Mr. Boss at the Brazil episode.

I love that Alan is almost always only seen from the side, and has a almond shaped eye unlike most of the other characters who have round eyes, so it makes him look like he's constantly giving you the side-eye
Ive seen depictions of his having his eyes on the sides of his head like a horse or fish would
It's the silhouette theory. It states that for a character to be recognizable, they must he able to be seen in the form of a silhouette. Think of the head of Micky Mouse. Whenever he isn't looking at you straight on, you see one ear in front of the other.

Everytime I hear fans talk about Alan it’s always them saying they want more of Alan and it seems the creators listened. I fancy myself an Alan fan so I can’t wait to see more of him.
This is also something I love about the creators is that they fully listen to the fanbase and are fully immersed in online culture 🫶🏻

Oddly enough, the more I watched the show, the more I realized I was like Alan (I work at a bar, not in an office, however). I could have a very dry sense of humor, so much so that at one point, when my boss was asking if I was feeling upset over a situation I didn't pay attention to while I was cleaning, and all I said was "I don't really care. I just want to clean the bar," in the same way as Alan in the Christmas episode.
I'm assuming that's why you liked the character?
@dorkybeer801 not really. That little anicdote, believe it or not, that actually did happen before I actually gave smiling friends a try. Though not exactly word for word, it was very similar. Then I remembered that time while watching that episode.
But the more I watched it, the more I started to like Alan with the dead pan lines he does.

NO WAY I LOVE ALAN AND GLEP TOO WHAT A COINCIDENCE 😳
What I like about Allan is how much he does add to the weirdness of the cast. He's weird in his own way and as we've seen in the previews for season 2 he can get *REALLY* pissed off when he believes that he's being held up from finishing a task, even ones that he really has no interest in. He's a break from the high strung chaos that Charlie and Pim bring in but it feels like he does enjoy their company a lot but he doesn't overstress himself trying to stand our or get attention because he knows what he likes and wants to do.
And yes, I have known several Allans through work and looking back, they were all the best ones there because they didn't try to bring attention to themselves or start shit with other people.
One thing I want to say, I love that Mike struggles to keep his accent down when he plays Allan because you can tell he voices both him and Pim but with Pim, he can speak more freely with his accent. With playing Allan however, so much of what he says is stuck in that Australian accent that's trying to sound American.
I can't imagine having a goon sesh without watching Smiling Friends, and I edge extra hard when Alan appears. I also start mewing, fr.

Alan is unironically my favorite character in Smiling Friends. I love how he's sort of the Straight Man character while also being bizarre in his own right. Also love how unlike other side characters in his role he seems genuinely well-liked by everyone around him and his relationships with the other characters is fairly wholesome
loved his Joaquin Pheonix Joker costume in the Halloween episode
Randomly coming across a clip of Alan from the first episode while scrolling on Twitter is what initially convinced me to watch the show. 10/10 character
I think Allan is pretty interesting. I like the sort of character who will not care much of the time, no matter how fantastical or stressful a situation is. It's absurd. I like Mr. Boss & Glep a lot right now. I also really like the Centaur from the enchanted forest. If any media has a fantasy creature, dog or other animal in it... They are my favorite.
I love the Boss as a character, definitely want to make a video on him at some point!
