My thoughts exactly. The US loves to play the good kid, but they're as bad or even worse than China when it comes to privacy laws regarding social media apps.
I find it funny because if other countries around the world banned apps like Facebook or Twitter, those companies will barely make any money out of just the US customer base because they hardly have the population unlike China or India.
The current state of the US is just abysmal. Senile people in power who have little to no understanding of how the world functions right now are taking decisions based on their own insecurities.

It's due the Free Palestine stuff permeating the platform, which has created impasses for the people who fund, back, lobby for, and helm the political campaigns and uniparty, which is mostly pro-Israel/pro-war-spending...older people, unlike "the other side". It's not a democrat v. republican thing: on one side, you have people who for whatever reason oppose Israel, foreign intervention, and censorship (mostly lower-case-R republicans, leftists, non-neocon conservatives, left-leaning libertarians, right-leaning libertarians, and even many younger default liberal types), and on the other you have people who for whatever reason endorse the ban and/or Israel specifically (the Democrat Party, the Republican Party, Neocons, Neolibs, uppercase-L Liberals, especially the older ones, zionist globalist types, and other "establishment" forces).
It's not as easy as left and right...this is more accurately described as establishment versus populist/market/the public. Or the Ruling Class versus the working class.
