The security of govt websites are straight up trash. Some dont even have encryption on it and majority of them runs on outdated services. Even some knowledgable hackers from places like pakistan can download the public data easily.

What triggered this: A soldier made a short video requst on his way to fight the chinese at the border.. "I am about to confront the chinese at the border, you too can do it by uninstalling the chinese apps". This time not just people listened, but also the government after that confrontation.
Never seen that video but as an Indian, we saw the country banned the apps. We obeyed. National security above all.

Indian apps are not banned in China. Only some American apps are banned in China. For example, Google was pressured by US media and Congressmen not to comply with Chinese Laws that require all social media apps must locate their data-servers within Mainland China. Hence, Google is still operating in Hong Kong because Google's data-servers are installed in HKSAR.

While Sonam Wanchuk was on ground seeing where the Chinese was tresspassing and also working along with Indian Army to develop climate appropirate infrastructure for their use in Ladakh
