Sangeeta Gurav Being Daddy's Little Girl, Over Confident and a Spoiled Brat doesn't win You Miss World or a National Award or a Decade long Career in Bollywood or a career in Hollywood or a Music Deal. She has earned everything she has achieved in her life.
Sangeeta Gurav You also called her pampered and spoiled, anyways Over Confident person eventually falls and she hasn't. Reason for stating her achievements is, To accomplish all those things a person has to be self-critical, put ego aside, Ready to learn from others, admit you don't know everything and listens to peers, stay humble etc. These are part of the process. So to called her Over Confident is just ignorant and more of a hate remark. Also, She might be pampered and spoiled but for a actress to have as long of a career in Bollywood, you have to be tough as nails.

For me Priyanka Chopra is the best of this generation. The way she has conducted herself through out her career is exemplary. Very few controversies, Multi Talented, Great Actress, Does a good job of representing India Globally. She dare to do a negative role early in career in Aitraaz and was terrific. Mostly Models aren't that good actors but Priyanka has done herself proud. Her accomplishments are no less. Fashion, Aitraaz In my opinion is her best work

I don't think she understood the question about what Kangana said she wants to do. Priyanka did not get what Anupama actually asked her. Kangana has never suggested.. "Sab kuchh mujhe karna hai... Mera naam sab jagah hona chaahiye..". Kangana just has a lot of hunger to create more, and to do more, and to not be a puppet. I love, and admire both Priyanka Chopra, and Kangana.

The one thing I see from all the comments is a very wrong understanding of feminism. FEMINISM is not supporting other women no matter what they do. It is about equality. She doesn't have to support every woman despite what they tell just because she is a feminist. And just disagreeing with one statement and speaking out her mind, does not mean she is throwing shade at someone. I am fan of how bravely Kangana has bought up all the issues, including the latest AIB video. (Just like how I think she is not throwing shade at anyone, but speaks what she believes which has to be respected). Everyone doesnt have to be a Kangana, or a Priyanka. Instead of pitting people against each other, it would be nice if people respect opinions for who they are. But Alas!
The issue is that PC is just so full of herself that it is her ambitions that only matter.

I'm a Priyanka fan, but she was really worried about the questions of Kangana. Priyanka agrees with everything Kangana has said, she has said this in many many many past interviews, but is now beating around the bush as she doesn't want a headline associating her to Kangana. I respect that, but it was very visible here. I know PC and Kangana worked together of Krisshhh and Fashion. They also partied together when Kangana won her National Award.
Priyanka has never taken sides, she is a big fan of Kagana as much as she is with Hritik.
To everyone who says being rich makes you Confident pls have a look at the worlds riches people none of them are confidents..and some of the poorest people are more confident because they don't have any ones money to fall back on so they have to rely upon themselves and this makes them strong & confident!

I respect Priyanka and her work ethic and how far she has come from her earlier days. HOWEVER, I do not appreciate the subtle Kangna bashing in this interview. She is trying to stay loyal to her directors and actors, and not say anything bad against them. However, in her support of these people, she is also upholding the system that places women in stereotypical, reductive roles.

Yes absolutely, she is in pursuit of excellence with films like Baywatch and a show like Quantico , both highly acclaimed performances 😂 Hmmmmmm and of-course she is a true feminist ....but then why is she bringing another woman down?? Also, evidently she has only been doing fashion covers , interviews , fashion weeks and fashion events from the time she went to "Hollywood" but I guess that's what "Actors" do. That's the problem with building a brand versus being an actor. To be like Daniel day Lewis or Isabelle Huppert, you have to enrich your craft. Brand building should not be the pursuit of any artist.

Wow. She does not feel the need to hone her acting skills. Talks about excellence and does a movie like baywatch and Zanjeer. Kangana is a far superior actress than she could ever be but still she felt the need to enrol herself for an acting class in new york for six months. Anupama needs to stop worshipping her and get a reality check. World domination by appearing in small movie roles. The day she comes up with a movie which does not have a Khan/kumar/kapoor to support him and is able to achieve a national award as well as achieve the box office numbers simultaneously for a movie like Kangana did for Tanu Weds Manu returns then only she should use the word excellence. For now the word she should be looking for is mediocre which is spread like wild fire by her PR team.
Gautam Bahl she is in US. It's hard to make it there. It's not comparable what anybody does in India to what they do in another country cuz they almost have to start from scratch.

Huge fan of Priyanka but I see she is throwing lots of shade to Kangana. It seems like Priyanka had a had time working with her, but what I would say is just like each one has their own struggle, the things that Priyanka got easily, Kangana had to work harder to get because of all the scrutiny. So Priyanka, if you look at things from Kangana's perspective it will be little easier to empathize with her and understand her struggle. guess after seeing kangana drag the same thing for more than a year bringing it up in every interview her eyes opened up to the fact that she can't use her own situation to judge another incident that has nothing to do with her.

amar kadam Quantico is still doing well World wide, last I checked it was the highest rated show on MI6 in France amongst 50 shows, for season 2, a network like ABC won't continue sponsoring a show if they don't make profit.
secondly, Baywatch despite being panned and R rated released with big films mid year did $ 179Mil world wide, on a budget of 69 MIL, jai gangajal with zero promotions did 40cr.

Was looking forward to this interview but extremely disappointed at Priyanka's tone and completely undermining Kangana when asked about her. All the talk about supporting other women seems fake when you don't practice what you preach. Anupama, you could have called her out on it or clarified what Kangana's plight was (which was completely taken out context by PC).

Baywatch is excellence?
Iconic American series, being involved in it opens a lot of doors and puts your face everywhere. Association with something bigger than just you and the movie is smart.
I wasn't refuting her quest for popularity. But her comments are hypocritical - she could have just said 'I don't want to do hindi films anymore, as they don't expose you globally.' Saying that Indian scripts are not good enough after doing popcorn entertainment (Quantico is trash by American tv standards) in Hollywood is dumb.

Priyanka was excellent in Baywatch. She was the best part of the movie. She said she wanted a commercial and not a niche movie for her debut which could be watched by a wider audience. The movie got bad reviews because it claimed to be a comedy and underperformed in that genre. Her acting was widely appreciated by all critics.

As it has been rightly pointed out, she should not try to be pretentious. I can't remember any of her movies except Barfi and Mary Kom where she was chasing excellence. Its no shame to admit that she chased commercial success rather than artistic excellence. Also, she has been pursuing mediocre work in the USA and there is no harm in admitting it. Its the charade she displays which makes the audience dislike her. Indian viewers surely have better taste in TV shows than Quantico and Baywatch. And prolific directors like Rakesh Roshan. Wow. I surely regret my time spent on watching this pretentious interview of hers and writing this comment.

Well I definitely liked Kangana's interview, but I liked this as well. In fact PC is a more likeable person.
I've lost a lot of respect for Priyanka Chopra here. First of all, when asked about directing and other technical aspects of filmmaking, she says, "The boys are doing, they do what they do..." Uhm, what? Did she really add to that stereotype of men being the ones in directorial and technical roles and, essentially, in control? And she's a feminist?
And to mock Kangana like that was incredibly cheap. There is a way to say "I'm not interested in that" without making Kangana sound like she just wants to slap her name on everything. I wasn't surprised when a lot of Bollywood people said shit like that, but I thought Priyanka Chopra was better than that, above that shit. Clearly she's as petty as the rest of them.

Shabana Azmi, Konkona Sen Sharma, Tabu are not content with traditional roles..I am just pointing out her (recent) mediocre work that she has been doing and the Irony of that mediocrity being referred to as World Domination!!!
P. S. I genuinely feel that She can do sooo much better.. She might not earn a lot of money (Baywatch kinda money).... But she might end up doing some great work.

I've lost so much respect for Priyanka after this interview. Her recent failures were so evident in her insecurities where she was bashing another peer (Kangana) for daring to do things how she wanted. Very VERY poor on her part. Disappointed.

I for one have never heard Kangana do that. Disagreement over choice/direction of career is one thing, which Priyanka could have done here very gracefully. But it was so evident that she was deliberately putting Kangana down. And it's sad cause I truly respected Priyanka. Her failures are getting the better of her.
As for Kangana, please. Link the said direct 'shade' she threw Priyanka's way, putting her down like Priyanka did here. Evidence, or it didn't happen.

lol. her show is getting a season 3 cos it's still a hit world wide, no network wastes money over a dud. her production house film just won three national awards.

Hit worldwide? 'Getting' a season 3? Are you living in a bubble? I implore you to go read about the show's reviews on IMDB. It has a 7.1 rating, which is terrible for a show, even after the Indian audiences flooding the ratings just cause of her nationality. Her series is getting WRAPPED UP in 3 seasons. Which great or even good show do you know which was wrapped up in 3 seasons?
Baywatch was a flop, with a laughable 5.6 rating. And just look at her choice of movie! She could've picked a movie which actually had a good story or at least where she had a good part to play, like Naseer Sahab or Om Puri or Imran Khan. No. She went for a glamorous no show role in a such a shitfest of a movie. It was so obvious she wasn't trying to better her craft or widen her acting abilities, but only trying to do a massy movie in Hollywood. So typical. So disappointing.
As for her production house and the movie, I'll be honest. I didn't even know about it till you mentioned it, but the National Awards were for Editing, Sound Mixing and Direction. Not Production or Film. I doubt if putting money in a movie is really an accomplishment.
She was doing great work while she was in India and now neither is she popular here anymore nor was she able to make a mark in the States. And so the viciousness is leaking from the sides.
In fact, let's say she isn't failing. Say she is doing well. Then it's even more disappointing of her to put others down. Much worse.
Also, still waiting on the videos from you. Back up what you say or nothing you say holds meaning :)

Truth Seeker You have ever right to disagree. It is just my opinion, I believe her status has been inflated to depict more than her body of work actually reflects. It, I feel is largely because of the way she conducts herself and also due to the PR machinery she has in place. But that in no way is diminishing her hardwork and talent, I just feel and wish too that she must do much more!

It's totally someone's opinion to differ with other people's judgements. Kangana in one interview said Bollywood standards of beauty has always been miss world's and miss India's. So to each his own. Struggles can't be compared. It is highly unfortunate people are trying to downplay either kangana or priyanka.

I remember an interview of her with Anupama when she was just starting to shoot for that horrible tv shows of hers. She said something like she'll only do movies if she is the lead role or her face is in the poster. So now what happen? I can't stand this lady. She humble-brags too much.

vishambar chauhan till now I loved her in all the interviews that she gave. But this one looked like all her fame got to her. Plus the digg at Kangana was not necessary at all. "I am clearly better than her" attitude shows!
Anupma you are totally double faced. You interview kangna and praise her for her being bold and opinionated. Now, with priyanka you are discussing kangna and looking for some controversial statements(when there is no need to discuss kangna here).
Also, priyanka being opinionated and fighter is not about creating toxic environment. Nobody is expecting from you to direct or edit movies. Kangna has done official course in direction and if she feels something is not right about direction or anything else, she has a knowledge and expertise to prove that.
PC Is humble enough to say.. M not nest at everything. There r other people who r expert.. I work with them.
Kangana on the other hand tries to underestimate.
If she I has done a direction course.. She can have her own movie to direct. But when she is cast in a movie.. She is supposed to follow the director like any professional actor. Yes.. One can suggest.. And for sure Kangana can make great suggestions given she is very creative... But whether or not that suggestion is to be accepted is directos perogetive.
Where d prob begins with Kangana is. If her suggestion is not accepted.. Her ego is hurt.. She feels insulted.. She becomes hostile.. Starts demanding that director and anyone else who stood by him and then she will go on and on and on.. Spreading hatred and negetivity for him all around for as long as she can.
That's just not an artistic, creative person should be.
That's no class. That's no grace.
We all have to learn how to handle when others disagree with us. We have to be respectful.
But Kangana only knows one thing.. Either agree with me.. Or I will distroy u.
That is then portrayed as.. Savage attitude.. Being strong.. Killer attitude. Etc etc.
But it's Arrogance. Rude. So uncivilized. Petty. Pathetic.
