I could watch that Wine Red Les Paul all day...
I have a 1977 Les Paul custom I stare at pretty much all day. Merlot not wine 😊
Same thing 😉
Man oh man, ever since discovered these guys I just can't get enough of their videos. Rock on friends.
Your reviews are by far the most entertaining and helpful reviews on CZcams ! Thank you for that and keep on
I love the sound of les paul guitars but the one rob was playing just had such a crispy tone im in love
What an awesome demo! Started my day with a smile from ear to ear!
i own the left one, and it is the best thing that ever happened to me
Love those two, i watch all their videos, good solid reviews, good fun, keep it going guys.
Simply the best and most versatile Les Paul that I've ever owned. I love it so much that I now own two. Gibson has a winner with this model.
doas any of your les pauls make hum noises?
gabriel guevara Only when the humbucker is switched to a single coil. The Trad Pro II has a true coil split thus the hum. It really depends on the amp. If it's a high gain amp then yes. I use an isp decimator II to quite things down. Works like a charm.
gabriel guevara there are reports that they make a lot of noise because of teh active circuit. Other tan that they are kick ass
I agree!
Yeah I have one too and they really are brimming with awesomeness!!
Evidently Andertons didn’t snap them ALL up as I got mine from GuitarGuitar in Birmingham. However, it was pre-owned so I guess it could’ve snuck it’s way to Birmingham 🤷🏼♂️
But yeah they really are incredible - I didn’t know they were a sort of rarity in this country though. Interesting
ReallyReally good video !! ...its nice that you took the time to explain your real honest opinions... thank again guys
Absolutely nailed the audio quality lads!
I went out bought one in part because of this video...Good job guys!!
love you dudes. good reviews, good laughs, good way to kill time at work. Thanks for the videos from the Arizona
This is one of the best videos of late. Good mix of comedy and guitar demo's.
The TONE!! Soooo Good!
your demos are great!
I just bought one of these. I am in love
beautiful guitars great review . thanks for posting
Awesome as always
the finish on that cherry one is just gorgeous!
Great playing and amazing tone guys! Loved it!
FUCK the captain is getting REALLY good at playing
They both are. Rob was always good but im liking the new things creeping into his style.
Really kept a good groove this review, Chappers.
Loved it.
I love watching these reviews...... Evens if it's about a product i'm not interested in, just watching these guys is always entertaining :)
I bought one....and I LOVE IT..THE ROCK GOD'S HAVE BLESSED ME.😎
Robs tone in this is so good!
There's a trim pot in the control cavity to adjust the amount if boost. :D
Awesome vid as always guys. Haha I love how rob always throws his pick at the camera
the tone signature of this guitar is distinctly good for blues in my view. It is raw and untamed yet very clear. I played one yesterday. It is an excellent guitar and I am seriously considering buying a used one I can get that's in excellent condition.
I just bought one in wine red. I stripped it and took all the bells and whistles off. Went back with 50's wiring and duncan slash pickups. This is now a really incredible axe!
Lees tone is always so perfect.
I absolutely loved the wider/thicker fingerboards of this era. My absolute fave from Henry J.
Keep on making 'em !
Great video guys! These are beautiful. Love the Red One.
Thank you for this review. I just got a used one of these from my local music store and I wasn't sure what it was exactly. Mine is the Inverness green one.
WOWWWW, right off the bat - that red Paul is STUNNING
I have one and love it!!
I might be picking one of those up this weekend.
I like the old format with no special camera angles. It makes it more authentic
The red one is absolutely stunning!
I have the Alpine White and it plays so smooth !
hey are so easy to play. Clarity is spot on....
Such good tone, classic.
Another fantastic, funny, inspiring vid. Thanks
Great vid as always, I've become a big fan of Captain and Chappers! btw. that red Les Paul Lee was playing is absolutely beautiful
I got one of those with 50s neck in iced teaburst last fall from guitar center and took it home with me to sweden. It's an absolute beast with those coilsplits, you can almost go from clean to dirty with the boost and splits set up. Makes me smile everytime I play it through my marshall jcm 800.
I decided I wanted a merlot finish Pro II 7 years ago because of the guitar the Captain plays in this video. Managed to get myself one and its been my favourite guitar ever since. Plays better than any other guitar ive had at any price point
That first jam is rad...and the second, damn yall rip, and captain is killing it, you guys should work on a song together, and record it legitlly since you do have access to studio and stuff, because this is so A game shredding
love how their tones are among the best tones of the LP players like to go with
Cheers for all the positive comments guys - makes me happy to know you're happy!
Look at that Holiness burst!
Those “57” pups sound outstanding!
Got to play one of these last night. Really good. Single coil sound is really pretty.
I've just laid down a deposit on one of these guitars, honeyburst with 50s neck. Can't wait to get my hands on it!
Great vids fellas - I bought a Honey Burst Pro 2 from Andertons and love it - single coil on neck pup with a bit of boost is awesome for a more over driven Strat sound. Quite a weighty piece and I like the fat 50's neck.
Cap'n sounding great in this vid. Thanks fellas.
Great review, guys - I'd love to buy one of these guitars but I've already spent too much on guitars this year!
I just love the way Rob said ''yes'' to Captain at 05:00 as if he was hinting to Captain that the ''tapping'' was getting too excessive. Haha
Bought the Pro III in the burst finish and it’s the guitar I play the most even after I got in February 2017.
Holy shit rob, your playing was REALLY on form in the video. Nice work man.
Love the trad pros, three of the series one versions have a special place in my collection(wine, ebony, and vintage sunburst) currently saving for the series two in alpine white :)
God that blues jam around 5 minutes in was ridiculous... These guitars seem perfect for my style. Love em.
I own that cherry burst. It is such a versatile wood. Every time I suffer from GAS, i just play that guitar. No other guitar I wanted can come close to that and thus this beast saves me a ton of money!
I own a 2015 Les Paul Traditional Pro III and it’s an awesome guitar. I did replace the wiring harness with a traditional 50s wiring harness.
I love Trad Pros. Can't afford the Gibson version, but I have an Epiphone version and I love it. Will have a Gibson one day.
I just bought one of these yesterday at GC(Minneapolis, Mn) With the Floyd Rose. There is a boost adjustment pot inside the back control cavity. So you can adjust from 0-10 db of boost.
I played one of these at my local big box guitar shop here in the US and I must say, this is one outstanding Lester. It will be my next Les Paul. It just has so many tone variations that it's a must have addition to my 2009 LP Traditional and my 2012 LP Jr. Special with dual Humbuckers. The 10db boost was most noticeable when engaged on the clean channel of a Fender Blues Deluxe. It took it from the amazing Fender clean tone to a nice buttery distortion with the perfect amount of gain.
Nice video Capt & Rob. Now lets see that Blues breaker/59 Bassman shootout.
Wow! My guitar is almost identical to the one Lee is holding at the beginning of this video, except mine has a flame pattern to the top. Mine's even a 2013 year model. Oh, and that LP Traditional Pro II was a special deal through Guitar Center, just in case anybody doesn't know. BTW, the Traditionals are the best deals out there for a standard type LP. Anywhere from $1000 to $3000 less than the "regular" LPs. But I can't tell the difference between them.
Rob, I take my "scratch plates" off too!
Wow! Six years ago. Those prices are/were fabulous.
So glad to know there's a 60's neck available on them.
Huge!!! This is freaking awesome, boys!
Lee always has the best tones
I agree with Rob I always take the scratch plate of my les pauls don't care about the wood worm holes you only see them real close up
i found one in a shop in london, it plays a new level of awesome!!
I like the idea of the boost knob.. I use an MXR micro amp myself which does the same thing but nice to have it built into the guitar.. The drummer in my band is loud so I have to boost a lot for solos.. Great demo guys..;-)
I love your videos and watch them all. Great information. Funny too. Thanks. Ever notice that the Captain has the EXACT same voice as C3PO from Star Wars?
Iove how half the video is just them jammin' and having fun
Lee's blues is awesome.
Rob Chapman Don't know if anyone's pointed this out yet but you guys spread some incorrect information around 6:20
The amount of boost is changeable via an internal trimpot. So it's not "10dB or nothing" as you said, but actually an entire range from 0 to 10. Just want to keep correct information flowing :) maybe you guys will put a little annotation on at that time with the correct info. Thanks!
Rob was referring to no ability to control the boost from the knobs. You are right it can be adjusted internally
I did end up getting one of these about 6 months ago. I got the Heritage Cherry Sunburst model. 50's neck profile. Love it. It's the one Chappers is holding in the beginning of the video.
Anthony Norton Chappers is playing an Iced Tea Burst.
You're may be correct.
There is a trim pot in the battery compartment to adjust the boost.
I swear the video/audio/production quality of these vids is getting better all the time? Meant as a compliment, not that the older ones were bad!
You guys are good stuff!! Mw
Yeah that was finally a really great and enjoyable video :) Don't get me wrong, the others from the new room were ok too but in this one the sound, the cuts and the jokes were just purrrfect.
You can adjust the amount of boost via a trim pot on the control cavity. Great guitars, received mine yesterday. Only issue is opening the battery compartment!
10:51 J. Bonamassa's feel style, ladies and gentleman. Great Chapman!
You're great! Can you make a video about Les Paul signature T 2013? Thanx and rock on!
Hey, that 10 db boost, you *CAN* adjust it. Take a screwdriver and pop off the back plate with the battery cover. There's a pot in there that you can dial back. They actually come stock at about 7db, you can turn it up or down.
Just found one for sale on kijiji in the Merlot finish. It's just sooooo gorgeous, everything about it! The deep red colour, the top, the satin back, easily the nicest looking Les Paul I've seen. I'm trying to trade my ES-333 + cash for it. I need it!!!!!!!!!!!
Just ordered the Epiphone version of this from andertons, but if I'd have been playing in 2013 I'd has been crushing so hard for one of those.
These are very comparable to my 2013 LP Studio Deluxe II '50's. They have those same push-push pots and 10dB boost. The Traditional Pro II gets the binding that the SD II doesn't but my SD II gets an all gloss finish. Also, mine has a 490R(?) in the neck pos and a BurstBucker at the bridge. They sound much alike as well. I hadn't heard much at all about mine and now I sorta know why. It was probably unique to Guitar Center but it's good to see some of the features elsewhere.
wow. i love the color of that red 1
Damn those look rad.
Normally I'm not a fan of the wine reds, but Jesus Christ that is a deep dark blood red. So freakin' beautiful!
THAT SUSTAIN WAS INSANE DUDE, i saw it few months ago and damn....it freaked me out
I have this exact guitar (merlot color one) and I have to say...BEST GUITAR OF ALL DAMN TIME. Great for the price AND more versatile than you could imagine. 10/10
These were such a fantastic value, it's a real shame they don't make them anymore. Really nice pickups (the neck '57 Classic is fantastic), coil-splitting versatility and a really clean boost that is surprisingly useful. And yes, you can adjust the amount of gain; you're not stuck with 10dB. There's an adjustable pot inside the cavity. Set it as low as you want it.
I got a 2014 model (oddly enough the serial number shows it was built in 2011, but it's stamped "2014 model") with a really nice flamed top that's as nice as most Standards I've seen. They still show up used on GC, and they even have one or two brand new, but otherwise you risk it on ebay or craigslist. This was a popular model and I can only speculate they discontinued it because it was outselling more expensive models.
Great guitar all around. I'd never spend what they want on the top models, but also don't feel like I got any less guitar.
Awesone video guys! can you please do a video on the Gibson ES-195?
The boost is set to 10db as standard but it's adjustable if you tweak the little screw inside the potentiometers cavity.
Great looking guitars. Personally I would rip out the boost circuit and wire it as a bypass blow switch for the bridge pickup.
