Hi everyone, the mystery of where Scout went to has ended, has been solved. Steve and I were absolutely shocked to hear that his body was found, and it was nothing we had thought of or expected. I don't even know how to feel about that to be honest, but it is what it is. Nothing is going to bring him back.
Although we were 99.9% sure Scout was dead, I guess there was always a little bit of hope that one day he would show up. The book officially closing has definitely brought on a whole new set of emotions - like we are grieving all over again. The wounds are beginning to heal, and I am starting to feel some closure now. (even though exactly how he died is still a puzzling mystery to us).
Thank you all so much for being so supportive through this time, through this tragedy. It's not my preference to make such sad videos like these ones, but I felt that this final video for Scout was necessary to properly close the book for both myself and for all of you guys too. ❤️🩹
The future looks bright, there's a ton of fun to happen under the sun, so I will see you all then, when that time comes ❤️ (did I just write a poem? 😂).

I'm sitting here with tears in my eyes. We love our animals so much and they are just family to us so I know what you must be feeling. But as you said, at least now there is closure and life goes on. But a lot of us love your animals too because we see your love for them and we understand that. Time is the great healer and there will always be the memories. What a beautiful entity he was. You could see his can do spirit even with his handicap. I loved him too as I'm sure many of us out here did.

Finding Scout and being able to bring him home is so sad, and though the mystery of his demise is frustrating, it is not as frustrating as worrying he is still out in the wilderness fending for himself. RIP Scout.

I've looked at flood damaged culverts, bridges and dams for years as part of my career. The dynamics and forces associated with moving water are incredible. Strange things can happen. Sorry for your loss. Closure may help heal. God bless.

So sorry for your loss and the unknowns surrounding Scout's passing. I had to put down my 16y/o and 14 y/o Dachshunds in December 😪 Thank you so much for posting this video. Although I didn't think I could get through it, watching this has helped me further process my loss in some way.

I’m very sorry for your loss. The bond between a human and a dog is as strong is any other. 40 years ago I lost my dog which I considered my best friend. I still think of him all the time. Don’t beat yourself up over this. You provide a loving home and an environment any city dog would be envious of.
At least there is some pretty definitive closure. Not the happy result we had all hoped was possible. But did not suffer most likely. Condolences to you are Steve and big virtual hugs to you both!

Thanks for sharing your time with Scout with the rest of us. My heart breaks for y'all, and you gave him his best life while he was with you. We lost our fourth rescue to a blood disorder in under a week, last Fall, after 11 great years. Our first was an elder dog who we were only allowed to spoil for a couple of years before she left us behind. Dogs are so good....

So sad. The hard part about loving so much is the grief when it ends. Especially when there are so many "What ifs". Thank you for sharing your grief with us. It shows how much you love. Your guys are a mountain of love and that is what life is all about.

You have made a great home for them and it’s easy to see how much they love you. I realize it has been a while now since this happened but I wanted to say that finding out about Scout’s demise must have been horrible and I cried watching this video knowing how much it must be hurting you to make this video. MG, you're very strong to be able to tell us about Scout this way, and this soon. I'm sorry for the pain you guys are going through. When I lost my little buddy, I couldn't tell anyone for more than a year. Anyone that knows anything about Scout, loves Scout too. Thanks for sharing him and his friends with us.

So sorry for your loss. It's never easy loosing a pet. Scout may have only had 3 legs, but he made up for it with the size of his heart. That dog was ALL heart. I'm saddened at hearing he passed.
Belated condolences. Such a sad story and it is always painful when such a faithful and sound companion passes on. They give unconditional love and you give unconditional love back - it is a special bond. Scout will be always in your heart and he even gave a little bit of joy to all your followers too when he was snuffling around in he background or similar. Since last Tuesday, it has been emotional, after the Uvalde TX shooting. Now the funerals of children. The one teacher my oldest son knew and worked with for a few years, and work at Robb Elementary School-for two years. And his fiancé knows two of the children that were killed.

I purposely did not watch the two previous videos about Scout. We had just lost our girl Callie to cancer after eleven glorious years, and there was no way I could sit through that. It would be too painful. Very sorry this has happened, but what a great life you gave him, as we gave to our Callie. We now have a new young girl named Brooke, and we will now concentrate on giving her the best possible life we can, as you will continue doing for your present family of pets and future family of pets.
