    Can you take a moment and reply with a detailed description of how you set up your Petzl Dart crampons? What toe bail (stock or narrow) are you using? In which hole configuration and are you using the front points in the longer or shorter config? Thanks so much!! I would also love to see a vid on how you sharpen and maintain your tools n' cramps. Love following along on the adventures!

    • @canadianboyz5520
      @canadianboyz5520  Před 2 lety +2

      Mate!
      I think it's different from boot brand to brand and sizing as well, but I'll share what I've done! I have the front bail pushed as far as possible forward to ensure I have the most contact into the ice with the secondary points. The back bail is set on the further backwards, but I believe this is just so the bail will sit in the correct position on the ball of my boot. My front point is also pushed as far forward as it can (there are two different settings you can choose I believe). The toe bails I'm using are actually BD toe bails. I find they fit the shape of the Scarpa front toe bail just a little bit better than the Petzl bails. I had a few times where my crampon blew off using the Petzl bails, and this was partially due to the fact that my boots were very worn down and the front bail was rounded down. But I definitely feel the BD toe bails are a more secure fit. Hope this helps!

    What do you mean by a more technical tool? If I was climbing stuff hard enough to want a step up front the nomics, I'd be going for aspeeds or skeletons or anchars. At that level, the x-dreams are a bit too flexible and the handle is a bit too pumpy (look at how a lot of the camp athletes at ouray chopped off their x-dream handles). Also check out the new forecast equipment tools if you mean more techy vert.
