Jeep has revealed the its first all-electric large SUV, the Jeep Wagoneer S.
It’s built on an all-new platform which will be shared with other cars in the Stellantis group, notable Alfa Romeo and Maserati. It will be aimed squarely at the upcoming Range Rover EV, as well as the Mercedes EQS SUV and BMW's iX.
Jeep bosses are pitching the Wagoneer as a high performance SUV and are rather proud of the fact that it offers a 0-62mph time of under four seconds and can beat a Tesla Model Y in a drag-strip showdown. It comes with a 100kWh battery pack that Jeep claims will give the Wagoneer a range of around 300 miles. That seems a little low given that cars like the 77kWh Škoda Enyaq can muster 340 miles, but these are early figures based on the American EPA tests, which usually produce lower figures. All-wheel drive is standard on all models, while the output of both motors is rated at 600bhp.
The Wagoneer’s interior features what Jeep describes as 'premium technology seamlessly integrated with meticulously crafted artisan details'. Quite. In reality, customers will get a standard dual-pane panoramic sunroof and, expanding the Jeep brand’s exclusive collaboration with McIntosh, a 19-speaker, premium audio system.
We’re expecting to get it in the UK next year and we’ll have a chance to drive it in left-hand drive form later this year. There’s no information yet on prices or UK specifications, but we expect it to start from around £65,000 when it arrives. That would put it up against cars like the Mercedes EQE SUV and Audi Q8 e-tron - which are good cars, but hardly selling in huge numbers.
Join Nicola as she elbows her way in to the international reveal to take a closer look at the new Wagoneer S. Is this a smart move from Jeep? Will it tempt drivers away from gas-guzzling luxury SUVs like the Range Rover? Let us know in the comments below.

For the grace of God, please carmakers, give us a hatchback with 350+ miles for less than 30k
Isnt that what the Kia EV3 promises?
Get a very slightly used Kona
batteries are too expensive. you can get a used Chevy Bolt but it's about 250 miles of range
There’s a reason they don’t. It can’t be built for that money. Batteries have come down in cost, but not enough to make a sub £30k car
@hughmarcus1 exactly the point. The range and cost are the stumbling blocks for these EVs, I absolutely embrace the EV idea and would have one, but not with any compromise.
The obsession of speed is ridiculous, especially for SUVs or any carts that are not built for track.
Is it? What is the top speed? Didn't hear her mention it. There's no uk spec yet she said.
She literally referred to speed and acceleration within 15 seconds of the video starting 😂
@@ThrottleBodyI reviewed and only hear her talking about acceleration. Speed is a big mistery to me. So again, what is the speed you are taking about?
@@thedreamfactory6964 acceleration is the rate of change of speed. Doesn’t need any more explaining 😂
@@ThrottleBody And speed is a certain distance travellled in a certain amount of time. m/s. As opposed to m/s2. My point is: EV 's are not at all high speed vehicles. My old 2.0 liter petrol's top speed is 215 km/h. My one year old 325 bhp ev is 'only' capable of a top speed of 235 km/h. Most ev's are very limited in (top) speed. It's just not fair to blame manufacturers of a focus on speed as there is no focus on speed. Accelleration? Yes, but that's a different thing. Very different.
I know they are not just focusing on EVs. However, need to give Stellantis credit where due, they really are pushing their EV models across most of their brands and coming out with some pretty decent ones. I have family with the new eC4 it's quite a bit more efficient than clamined and for their daily work commute, school runs etc its been perfect and they love it, very comfortable to sit in too.
Can we stop bothering with the whole speed thing. It's kind of pointless now. Every car can beat every other car.
Focus on efficiency, reliability, sustainability and then cost.
The only thing pointless speed does is push up your insurance costs that we all then complain about.
Can it keep up with traffic in the 20mph zones and can it drive at motorway speeds. Apart from those, speeds are irrelevant
This actually looks kind of cool.
Interesting preview though a bit crowded, thank you.
If it starts at a price point of £60k then it is going to be very competitive. Given it can also do all the off road stuff it might even be a working car were it not for the luxury interior. Perhaps the sort of thing you take grouse shooting, if you do that sort of thing.
“There’s no chrome” then pans across a chrome finished Wagoneer badge!😂 A pretty handsome truck though and a few will get sold here. Something in between the Avenger and this in the Jeep EV range would probably hit the sweet spot though.
Nope, it’s satin painted trims and stainless steel
@@nicolahume I stand corrected. You were there. It just looked quite reflective in the video.
Exactly. Something smaller, please.
New Compass sounds perfect for you 👍
Well very nice indeed can’t wait to see it, when does it come out in England.
Cheers Nicola and the team
I feel this is going to be starting around $80k going up to $100k. If it's start lower than that then I'll be surprised.
This is the case. No chance of it costing 65k lol
What was the physical button count or was it all screens?
5:03 - Damn if they had to tell you that during the presentation, very giving "how do you do fellow kids" energy.
Love the chunky proper SUV style
Incorrectly located charge port
It's pretty nice.
Thank you for sharing this exciting new all electric Jeep Wagoneer, that will probably be very popular with equestrians.
😁 . . . . As always a great review and i love the way it is presented. Thanks.
We come from a long line of All wheel drive cars like the Toyota Landcruiser, so more functional and no massage seats 🤣.
But we can understand why people like to drive in something like this.
It's Fully Electric. This is a good thing. I'm saying this out loud to myself. Well done Nicola (and team) for making the most of a rather crowded launch!
We had 10 mins to shoot this video. It was chaos!🤣
Oh, my gosh Becky, look at…! An electric vehicle. From America. It’s totally unbelievable!
As an owner of 23 GC Overland, I really like it. My GC is a Range Rover for the poor among us. For real. Fantastic car all around. Love riding it daily. This is my 4th GC, so far. But, I strongly recommend to stay away from the 4XE Plug-in. NO, NO and NO. V6 or in the future, full EV, YES!!! The Wag S might be the correct thing here for many families. It seems as it has all options I have in mine and its a great thing. The front is sleek looking, hate the red seats. Why they continuing with the roundel shifter, I don't know. Bad choice. Can't wait to test one. I wonder the incentives they will give to push them out.
Looks decent.
Well done Stellantis with a touch of XPeng ?
New Jeep Wagoneer S gets 600 HP - but its incredibly heavy
The Electric Viking
That's a nice looking Kodiaq - whose looks I am not too fond of :))
It's a Jeep, enough said!
45 inch screen but no buttons, Nicola.
No chrome on a monster SUV = sustainible! Pleeease stop with the super posativity and glossing over the downsides. Its a monster SUV that is going to cost a fortune, far too big for almost everyone.
One thing I did like, space for a spare - please make that a thing, some people want or need a spare.
Beauty is definitely in the eye of the beholder then as I think this is hideous!
Looks amazing but don't see the point of fast big SUV, EVs and fast speeds are old trick
Otherwise great work 😊❤❤
Thank god someone is building another massive expensive suv. Exactly what the market is crying out for right now.
0-60 mph is not about aero - its more about the cars ability to put power to the road. But I am now suspicious of the 0-100 time..? And 60-80 mph..? No Jeep in my future with this level of suspicion...
👍
Strange how Carlos, said that they can't make EVs? Looks like they are doing a good job of doing the opposite of what they say.
About £56,593 Pound sterling
Not a chance unfortunately
@@yitzele New Jeep Wagoneer S gets 600 HP - but its incredibly heavy
The Electric Viking
Hehe I can be seen in the background at 7:36
it beat the model y in 0 to 60? yeah, it's also 2x the cost of a model y.
Oooof. Glad you're there, Nicola; I can't stand being in crowds. Dunno how you can keep your cool and be so articulate. I'd be gritting my teeth and growling, no matter which EV is being shown.
Jeep
All this power is frankly unusable and I used to love fast vehicles but generally reduced speed limits and the high level of policing means comfort and style is now king for me. It will be interesting to see how efficient it is - judging by the shape not very?
🇺🇸 ❤
Which of the two brands is more unreliable, Jeep or Land Rover?
Land Rover, ask the Americans they know all about it!
They compete hard with each other.
Is it me or are Stellantis knocking it out of the park at the moment, but not getting the credit they deserve?
It is you
Jeep, we don't want a hyper fast SUV.....we a quality and reliable SUV with 5-6 sec 0-60.
RANGE ROVER for Me………Thank You !
More like look out pedestrians and other road users.
Ill buy once i see 800 to 1000+ miles for ev
Totally agree. I have to be able to drive from London to Barcelona (900 miles) without charging, just like a diesel.
You should just go back into your hole as you'll never be happy with range no matter how large they get.
Then you’d find another reason to reject it, if cars capable of doing 300+ miles and charging while you sleep cannot fit into your lifestyle then you must be the world’s unluckiest person.
Lord give me strength! That old chestnut… you DON’T need 900 miles of range! My Model 3 can do 250 and I’ve done 78,000 miles in two years with no charge issues. Yes, you’ll be taking the bus!
I guess you sent this from your Nokia 3210? .. where you can go a week w/out charging?.. because.. you don't buy a smartphone until it batteries can go a full week. .. yes, there are those people, I guess. For the rest, (those that take a 20 min break every few hundred miles) this range will do just fine!
Did you defect from the big AT Nicola ???
AT?
@@nicolahume autotrader
@@zzhughesd I was never with them. Formerly Auto Express ☺️
@@nicolahume Nicola, my bad , memory at 47 isn't what it was, Yup AutoExpress ! not Autotrader
@@zzhughesd haha no worries. I left them December 2022! Crazy how time flies!
*Junk Engineering Executed Poorly* _or_ *Just Expect Excessive Problems.* 8-))...
And it has such a daft name that even if I did buy one, or was given one _(No... Please don't!),_ I'd just tell everyone I've got a Jeep 4x4.
And sound is not about wattage, it's all about decibels. I'd be willing to put money on Metallica winning that war.
Yeah yeah yeah, but it's still a SU fing V and a Jeep for that matter.
You knew that before you watched the video genius. Seems you’re still interested because you took the time to view and comment. If not, you would have chosen a video of a 2-door roadster or something but nope…here you are 🤔
Yet another SUVish...
0:56 Probably my morning coffee hasn't kicked in yet, but I assume you said "seven slots" , but I can't help but hear "seven sl*ts". I guess it's just some stereotypical brand association.
Oh god! I definitely said ‘slats’🤣🤦🏻♀️
why she looking all weirdo like....
me like
It’s a Jeep, which means expensive and unreliable.
The design team are millennials or gen Z? So ageism at its finest. Who cares how old or young a car designer is? It 100% shouldn’t matter, nor should ageism be promoted as a positive 🤫
Can't afford it. These EVs aren't made for the middle class.
Hate to gripe - as I love this channel - but hearing that a design team is not diverse is disheartening, and also kinda weird casual ageism when it's presented as a positive.
Age is a protected characteristic, and diverse teams (including neurodiverse, older and digitally less literate people amongst others) have been shown to create better solutions.
I work in this field - believe it or not being older... Just sayin' :)
You are paid to tell even the screws look nice Nicola
3 ton SUV no thanks...rather put a electric motor in a Sherman tank plus I could use it in a bus lane! Great videos love your enthusiasm but smaller not SUV electric cars are needed.
....................or just get a Range Rover
Designed by millennials and gen Z’s so probably prefers staying at home and will only work 3 days a week and less if it’s sunny
So aimed at millennial wannabe gangster rappers. Given the money and that in its home market, it won’t be eligible for grant money, being made in Mexico. I thing most would choose a Model Y.
Sorry, I just don't see anyone getting this above a Mercedes EQE or Audi Q8 (or even Q6). It's just... boring. The design team may be al gen z and millennials, but its still shouting "old man" or "soccer mom" at the top of its lungs. And sure, the Mercedes' and Audis are also cars designed primarily for old men (I drive an Audi myself), but at least they are somewhat stylish and sporty about it.
Boring car
