in japan, every time you would walk into a mcdonalds it would play the "ba-da-ba-ba-ba i'm lovin' it" jingle, except it was in engrish, so it would say "i'm rubbin' it" my biggest regret was not simply just stealing one and keeping it forever
Nice grab Louis. Definitely light years better than the other places you looked at and the landlord is actually very reasonable, which is surprising for NYC. This is a perfect example of waiting it out, and not to go in head first. Moving v-logs please?
Hey Louis i think i found your door chime thingie, "Fosmon Wireless Door Entry Alert" look for it on amazon and on youtube. it has 50'ish ring tones and one is "Hello Welcome".
Regarding hot air stations: When I went to get my solder certification for surface mount I fully expected to use a hot air station, but turns out that we only used them to assist with the removal of complex components (typically multi-pin IC's). When installing components we used the soldering iron with the hoof tip, size of the tip depending on the size of your component you're soldering. I only got to use that glorious tool once while soldering a 4 sided, 100 pin IC. I soldered opposite corners, the pins appeared to be lined up with the pads, then soldered 2 sides. Only then did I realize I was not lined up... Rather than fight with removing solder from 50 pins, I used the hot air station and it was removed in seconds. With that said, I would recommend one if you're doing it for profit constantly but a DIY at home, they're not required and they can easily blow other components off as well. If you do make the purchase, get the kind that have the vacuum built in and cups that surround only the component you intend to remove or install.
I think it's safe to say some components are difficult for everyone just based on size alone, lol. I wish I could upload a picture of some resistors I had to solder compared to a hair from an acid brush. Had a guy in my class who had prior training and bragged about how good he was who ultimately ended up ripping a pad off because of how bad he was shaking.
That thumbnail.... I can relate - This one time i was working as a security contractor for a bank down in the big city. But this particular bank was in the process of moving but I was still tasked to look after the building and control access only for only other contractors who had to come in and finish up some work. Doors were to remain locked unless I was given instructions to let them in. So here i was in a huge building with marble flooring, marble stairs and 5 or 8 floors of just absolutely nothingness all by myself. I had a good poke around the building when doing my patrols and checking things like fire exits and found a bicycle that someone had left behind.. For a few hours i was just riding this bike around the empty building doing wheelies and rolling up and down stairs with it. I got bored eventually and went back to sitting at the front desk with my laptop. I thought the bike had been abandoned and i was ready to take the bike home on the train at the end of my shift if someone didnt come to claim it but unfortunately someone did.... I still had my fun with the bike while it was there though!
Many years my father managed to drop his old-style pre-DECT cordless phone in the bath. "It's OK though. I dried it off, put it on the charger and the red light came on." The resulting corrosion wasn't as bad as I feared when I stripped it down and as it was all through-hole I got it working again. It saved his life a year or so later when he had a stroke.
You couldn't trust a non water resistant modern phone to do that. It's a shame that new technology necessities everything to become smaller and fragile.
Internal Battery says it all. There is no reason other than wanting you to buy next years model. They know and want the battery to either die or cause you problems. Which happens if your laptop gets wet and you can't cut power
HELLO, WELCOME! I think Louis should get a HELLO WELCOME! door chime as a gift for the new Rossmann Group Store. But we need to take it one step further, because that would just make it an Apple store. The door chime needs to shoot a nerf dart at anyone who says they're going to buy another MacBook on their way out. This would make it a CERTIFIED welcome door chime.
I would like to know your opinion on the 16 inch new MacBook, i know it's kinda soon but... You the man i trust when it comes to evaluating hardware quality tbh 😅
I got one of those like 3 dollar USB soldering irons from eBay and it works very nicely for small SMD components, it's not very good otherwise although it works nicely in a pinch so I don't have to carry a massive soldering station in my bag all the time. For the other stuff I use my station but sometimes the little USB iron comes in handy because it has a tiny tip unlike my station
AFAIK the Apple Pentalobe screws are really Torx Tamperproof Plus, with the center stud omitted on small sized screws (just like on regular Torx Tamperproof).
Tello is manufactured by Ryze Robotics but software was provided/developed by DJI. I had a tello for almost 2 years before I gave it to my little brother. She’s gone now in a tree top somewhere.

Thanks for the video yesterday i fixed my Graphics card all cuz of you. My first Graphic cards fan took off one chip of the 2nd Graphics card cuz it didnt had a back plate. I applied right amount of flux. And placed it back in you saved my time and money Thank you again...
At 16:35 had to turn the subtitles on. Couldn´t understand what you were saying Louis. To fast for me (follower from Brazil). But great job one more time. Congrats.
This is a great tutorial Louis. If I had this problem, googled and your video came up I would be very happy. Of course, I'm just watching cause I subscribed. :-)
That door chime reminds me of a motorcycle alarm I installed on my scooter 15 years ago.. When the ignition was put on it chimed and then said: "When you happpy all the way!"
Now there's a group of skilled techs eager to move up in the world. Say Louis, bit of a technical question - when you put down fresh solder on a board, with two (or more) pads that are close, how is it they don't flatten out and touch under whatever component you put down? Im not that type of tech so Im curious how it works. If you see this, thanx!
HARRO WERRCOME!!! 😬 I can only assume that the new digs’ lease didn’t have a Bafang banning clause, (a BBC 😏) ......anyway, CONGRATULATIONS on the new space!!
Hey Louis, you mentioned to have written manual for new technicians you hire how to diagnose hardware and that it really needs an update. On videos you show procedure itself for the edge cases, but I do wonder, within existing videos, do you have down to the ground monkey see monkey do instruction that will help to step by step diagnose what is happening, even if it would take x100 times the time professional would spend fixing it? Like this kid you were teaching what was broken, just simple key instructions and knowledge that would help to diagnose almost anything there is with bare minimum equipment
I'm spying for a new laptop and after the number one demand (all AMD system) the need is the ability to take out the battery. It's usually a desktop replacement and the less I can cycle the battery (stick it in a few times a month to let its contents know it still is appreciated for what it does) the better for the overall life. Heck I even have a phone with a replaceable battery now! Lives forever! Industry should help us cut down on rare earths..
"Apple wanted $1500 to repair this". In my experience...every repair estimate at an authorized Apple repair facility is $1300. And I always get an offer to have the $60 diagnostic fee towards the purchase of a new Apple product. I am SO lucky to have Apple on my side...................:(
Great fix, many thx. Question - after replacing a shorted component shouldn’t I check the short has gone before sticking full power back on the board again?
ideally, you typically should check for short to ground on the pads before you replace the parts. as to make sure the blown part you took off was the only short to ground.
Who else clicked on because they saw the new store with Louis in the thumbnail....
I did. And now im skipping through the video just to see it first
