Officer was great I agree, thats part of his job, to communicate with the public, not to tell the public to F off, hopefully you are not an officer.
That said the officer is wrong saying he doesn't need to inform the public when he's recording, he's a data handler and its part of the forces policy to inform the data subject, it's part of GDPR.
Having 2 officers sitting there with the engine running is mental! Surely would be so much cheaper to drop some concrete barriers in place, which would be a very quick job.

Always loved going to Rufford to watch the cars drive though the ford but recently it has become dangerous. Last time we went the same truck went through about 20 times at high speed. The Police are blamed for ruining the fun currently, but if someone were killed it would be “why didn’t the police do more to prevent this”. It’s sad but I have to agree with the closure.

You're arguing for the sake of arguing with him. He informed you well for the reasons and you tried to nit-pick.
You can't say people are just coming down to have fun (which is true for some) when there are idiots driving recklessly. There has already been a serious accident with a bike, luckily it wasn't that busy but he could have easily injured others to. The number of vehicles that have had near misses with others or nearly lost control has increased dramatically.
CZcamsrs need to acknowledge they are responsible for it also. People are coming down and their ego for being noticed on CZcams is encouraging them to drive recklessly. How many times have people been running along the bridge filming vehicles (including the reckless ones) or sticking cameras in front of the cars as they drive past to get the best shot? That's just fueling their ego. Lastly, why even show footage of those driving recklessly? YOU have the control over what is shown, if they had no airtime then they would be less likely to drive so bad. If you can't see that, then more the fool you. I know the counter will be "but the driver is the one that makes the choice" but then if someone talks someone else into committing murder, are they innocent?
Lastly, if they've been there for a while and it's cold, having the engine running to warm up is not unreasonable. I guess next there'll be an issue if they have lunch whilst there too "can't eat on duty officer"!

Thank you for your email referencing the safety issues at Rufford Ford.
I can confirm that as a result of contact we have had with VIA East Midlands and Nottinghamshire County Council (NCC) the road has now at our request been closed to prevent danger to road users and pedestrians.
This closure though temporary at this time is expected to be extended to 18 months. The closure as mentioned will prevent the reckless and dangerous driving which we have seen on sites such as CZcams it will also allow NCC to review how the area can be improved to prevent the behaviour occurring in the future.
We have previously conducted prosecution of drivers where evidence allows, this evidence including knowledge of the exact date and time of offences. We and Nottinghamshire Fire and rescue have also engaged with persons to explain road safety. Neither of these approaches has resulted in a reduction of risk and as such the request for closure was made.
I hope this assist in reassuring that we have and continue to take the issues at Rufford Ford seriously.
    Thanks and Regards.
Blame the muppets from the last video you were edging on to get hits on your channel, amazing no one was killed or hurt

It was long overdue, the content of CZcamsrs (including yourself) have provided more than enough evidence to prove that some just push it just that little bit too far. Have I enjoyed watching them over the last few months, yes.
Many years ago I drove through there myself, when it was only about 3 inches deep. But I was driving a 1980's Toyota Celica, not sure of the wading depth on that.

@@darrenross1807 I think some of the idiots would have been there, even without the CZcamsrs. I wonder how many insurance claims have been denied when this evidence has been provided. I love driving through fords, there is one just a few miles from me in a place called Shotesham Ford near Norwich. It's not on a road I use on a regular basis, but been through it many times. Most times it's only like a 2inch deep long puddle. Videos of it are on CZcams.

Nonsense. There are far too many sheeple normies and nappy fillers in this world. Grow up.
This is an Absolutely ridiculous overreaction. The police don’t have enough resources to deal with real crime, yet they can waste time and money and manpower on this nonsense. Local Freemasons have very likely done this. That miserable old fool we saw a few weeks ago was probably one of them.

How does this guy filming still have teeth? Oh wait, this is the UK 🇬🇧
Try this in the US and you would be crapping your own teeth for a month. Your camera becomes what appears to be a gun; your Contitutional Rights become resisiting arrest, your questions become a challenge to their authoritarian rule; your lingering presence becomes a threat with them fearing for their life, your refusal to calm down and step away becomes assault on a "peace officer"......holy crap!!!
I haven't seen patient policing like this in the US in 30 years. Meanwhile we just take our beating and hope for dentures.

Long overdue imo, And you were owned by that cop PJ. People ignored signs when the road was closed and a serious accident was inevitable for sure. I certainly enjoyed watching bell ends wreck their engines, and see their cars floating away, but there were an awful lot of idiots going through way too fast. The cop was dead right recently people have been stupid. Myself and MANY others commented with the way people were behaving the road closure was inevitable. Common sense has at last prevailed. Thankfully the local residents FINALLY have their lives back.
