- Rufford Mill Ford Update - What's Happened At The Ford Now
Today I had a quick walk down to Rufford Mill Ford to see what it's like now, and to be honest it was really strange to see it so quiet. But it's still a nice place to visit if you like the countryside.
Please enjoy the video
“Only spoilt by concrete blocks.” What about the antisocial nature of the drivers thinking that writing off their cars while causing a public nuisance is a weekend out? It baffles me to think how they could do it for a pastime.
Its part of the walk around the park.pity i never saw a Floater
bet youre fun at parties mate
You are so right, plenty of morons out there who think fucking up the planet & then blaming someone else won’t be there problem, but it certainly will be there children’s one day in the future. And I’m sure you are fun at parties because you dont start a social introduction opening with, what kind of car you got John, duh a blue one 😂
Correction Their children, their planet, auto a que on strike.
@@deadpoet62 🤣🤣🤣🤣 amazing love that 🤣
Trying to squeeze one last drop out of that stone, bit pathetic really.
What was the point of this video?
Find something useful to with ur life
I notice you were not that bothered about the business you parked your car on the street instead of supporting car park that your so worried about.
Another solution if you are that worried about the cafe and mill get your mate DJ and go for a nice Sunday drive ,spend some money in cafe and mill, instead of getting cold coffee in MacDonalds that you moan about..
Or he never seem to buy a brew and a bacon sandwich.
I expect the locals are loving the peace
I bet the local cafe isn't
I bet the locals are enjoying having to take the long way round.
@@surlydev The cafe did alright before PJ and his gaggle of cretins turned the place into a racetrack.
I expect they will also love looking for new jobs? How to tank the local economy in one easy step.
And extra time and money to drive around the long way .Those who live on the diverion must be happy too.
Once CZcamsrs like you turned up, the situation quickly spiraled out of control. Cars have always driven too fast there or tried to go through when it was too deep. The difference was that once the videos started to hit the Internet, more and more people started turning up. Drivers were encouraged to take ever greater risks to get themselves on CZcams. You were just as much a part of the problem as all the others. You may have arrived late to the party but you share the blame. You even used a pole to get your camera right in front of the cars.
It's no surprise that the council put a traffic order in place to close the road. Or that the police were there until the barriers went up. The way some drivers (not just the white Seat or the Blue Land Rover) went through the ford, it was only a matter of time before someone was seriously hurt or killed. Then you'd have been the first to moan that nobody had done anything.
The road was closed to stop the increasing number of dangerous drivers before someone died. Looking for someone to blame? Try a mirror.
I blame you
@@PJAudits You would. Anybody but yourself.
Chris, hysterical much?
I enjoyed the videos at first , then I considered the residents, the intelligence of the visitors went down and down until you had people there that where going to cause a serious injury to someone.
Not many people here now the Ford's closed...how you said that to them with a straight face, knowing you contributed to their failure is beyond me.
Hear hear, everybody saying it and he don’t give a crap
@@the90sfattyfromtakethat Everybody?
No more than 5% of Darens and Karens is saying PJ did it. Everybody else knows it's Tom Sunderland, midlifecrisis, the Range Rovers and you the youtube viewers that did it.
Can't blame yourself, so you blame PJ.
@@gteaz I disagree, when I first started watching these videos it was all about unfortunate drivers innocently ruining their cars (rubbernecking at its best). Then it turned into antisocial numpties with no skills and vehicles adapted to driving through water that ruined it. It was fun at the beginning but as soon as the idiots started trying to go through it at speed that's when it started going wrong. Everyone who's had success through filming the ford has contributed to it, I'm having a go at PJ because it's his channel I'm on. I like some of PJ's videos but he's starting to show a real lack of judgement lately, purely for clicks.
@@gteaz It's obvious, on the other channels the blame is on the drivers and the biker that nearly killed himself, no one mentions PJ.
This is merely internet bullying.
@@gteaz the council and the local residents wanted it. So they are welcome to it. Should've embraced it.

I think we all know the answer to that.
Because he is a total Dickhead.
Quite doesn’t pay the bills.

Generally I like your work PJ but you’ve let yourself down keep coming here and especially pointing the camera in peoples faces who don’t want to talk. I’m gutted it’s closed but serves so many of you right.
I'm a regular - I ride a motorbike and it saves me a long ride round. But nobody videoing me from the bridge is nice - hated that.
My thoughts exactly
OH. You can't say that to a " frauditor " 🤔🤔🤔
He’s far to lairy putting that camera in faces, surprised they tolerate his ignorance.
Since when was being photographed such a trauma...get over yourselves...complete over reaction by the police, the farmer and the residents...typical of England...get over yourselves!!!!
Very obvious nobody likes PJ, literally nobody wants to talk. I wonder why?

lovely video pj amazing to see the rufford ford and its surrounding area in a bit more detail
Nice to call the bloke in the cafe a "miserable git" but take umbrage when anyone says anything mildly offensive to yourself.
Cafes quiet because it’s minus 5 not gonna sit out side in this weather plus quieter during the week people are at work
I am happy it now close we got Rufford back, The mill cafe is always low foot traffic in winter, I think all you CZcams are complaining about your lost of income from CZcams, If CZcamsrs had not started filming at Rufford Mill it would have never had got out of control. I am happy the road now close for 18 months to got our life back. Your filming is one sided talk to people who are happy it closed, I know I am.
Great video good to see the surrounding area
I’m looking forward to revisiting it all now it’s not busy AF.
Did you pay for the car park and also give the cafe some custom?
@Mike Satur Only if people like you and I watch it...
@Mike Satur Thought so. 🙄
they didn't seem bothered about the loss of trade anyway 🙄.
@Mike Satur I thought that.
Not today I didn't, why would I, would you?
The ford has been closed mainly due to a whole load of idiots who think driving through deep water as fast as they can, all too often damaging/destroying their vehicles in the process, is a good idea and/or entertaining. You say 2 police in a car with the engine running is OTT but how much fuel, disturbance and environmental damage was caused by all the morons who insisted on playing up to the crowds egging them on and hoping for a disaster to unfold for their cameras? I reckon if the road outside your home suddenly became blighted by crowds and morons in cars racing around on a regular basis destroying your peace and quiet you'd want something done about it PDQ.
I think the locals attitude towards you shows their feelings on the Ford, the idiots ruined it, your flogging a dead horse, move on
I’m sorry Pete but I think they did the right thing shutting it before someone was killed
Absolutely Jim👊😎🇬🇧
Wouldn’t be the fords fault although easy to blame
Now we need to close all lake's and rivers as four kids died the other day.
@@ashtonsseries6968 ...also canals and bathtubs.
Dredging it would have sorted that. It seems that the councils or farmers lack of keeping the water moving has been blamed on everyone else.
Thanks for the update. They should make it a toll road. Pay to wreck you’re own car
Already paying a toll every time they trash they're cars
PJ is delusional, he still can't see that he is to blame, and trying his hardest to put words in all of those peoples mouth trying to justify his version of the ford being closed, but none of them were interested, you could clearly see they were happy about it
I'm to blame when I only made 15 videos, are you real. What about the people that's put hundreds of videos on CZcams, don't they count
@@PJAudits They have been filming for years no no problems, I'm afraid with your arrival and some others you turned it into a circus, it became dangerous with a very serious motorcycle accident, and was hell for the residents, well done the council
@@steve1619 Come on get real, how can you blame me for a motor bike accident that happened months before I started going there. You really need to think before you comment and save yourself from looking like a fool
@@PJAudits I agree with PJ here. PJ has a considerably following but I'm sure he cannot influence road closures at the blink of an eye. If anything it is all CZcams content owners, CZcams viewers and people turning up to watch the videos that are to blame. The motorbike guy needs to take some responsibility for his actions, as does anyone who gets influenced by a cheering crowd.
@@PJAudits You were part of the problem. You even had the long stick to get action shots. You were encouraging dangerous driving and antisocial behaviour.
It had to close, definitely too many idiots used it , and was just a accident waiting to happen ,
Those 2 women you were talking to at the tables didn't have a CLUE what you were talking about, they were referring to " seasonal trade" at the mill, they knew nothing about CZcams vids at the mill ...
They were regular customers there, so I'm sure they did
Just admit it PJ, the ONLY people who miss the closing of the ford are yourself and other CZcamsrs, and that's because you've lost some of your income stream, the hotel/ cafe is an established business which has probably been there for many years, admittedly they probably enjoyed the spike in income when the ford was popular, but common sense prevailed , YOU may not agree with the closure, but lives are far more important than financial gain for "CERTAIN individuals"
Too many people driving through with no consideration for other road users.

After the first Splash .You know where Not to stand.
Perfect can still get my gsxr through the side thanks for the update uncle PJ 😁
Did you park your car in the car park? How much did you spend in the cafe?
No and nothing
@PJAudits why not? You said about the business losing trade, yet you never supported them.....
Pathetic calling the cafe worker a miserable git ,we met him whilst walking through the courtyard, and he is a very pleasant man, nothing like pj says. Sour grapes comes to mind.
Good to see some progress. Why can't a metal bridge like the type the army use be installed? It could be a semi permanent and cheap fixture.
My guess is they will build high concrete chicanes, to narrow the road or make it impossible to drive through fast. A bridge may be too costly but either way the days of the old Rufford Ford will (has) certainly come to an end as few people will visit to watch a car slowly drive over a bridge or navigate around a concrete chicane. Any bridge would probably have to comply with various council legal requirements, which would probably rule out anything temporary (or cheap!).
because its a old road way and listed .But it must be bad for the local as it spoils the area with the blocks and adds 2 miles ans extra time to there road trips,
In a desperate bid for re-election, the Tories are planning to put reopening Rufford Ford at the top of their manifesto in 2025!
@@glynscothern3876 Well, don’t live there!
So you think dangerous drivers should be allowed to speed through the ford in order to sell more cups of tea, do you?
YES.
This Pj's a proper Numpty 😂
That won't stop them *jet ski sounds intensify*
There was only one prat that spoilt it, try the Land Rover with snorkel
A speed bump in the middle of the road would allow the road to stay open, avoid the need for ugly barriers, all whilst preventing idiots speeding through it. Place a sign to alert people to its presence. Job done.
The parking Lady was a cutie!! ❤❤❤❤
No long term solutions from the council, a bridge will take years to build. I bet the locals love the de-tour especially when summer comes about and the rivers low enough to drive through. Wonder how long before the barriers miraculously disappear 🤔
Well done to the council and police
Closing down this crap it was an accident waiting to happen
When you put stuff on CZcams it draws attention
Suck it up people it could be your children through idiots driving fast and aquaplaning
Well if there's only been 1 or 2 accidents in the hundreds of years it's been there, it can't be that much of a problem. If it was it would of been sorted years ago. The 1st mention of the ford was in and around the year 1212.

I’d say it’s been closed due to the dickheads ragging it through to impress people…. Oh and the biker who nearly killed himself
Those ladies clearly didn't agree with your opinion. Probably on the side of closing it.
Clearly not
2 solutions, call the EA and report the farmer for illegal to the riverbed. Or make a makeshift weir under that bridge with sandbags and you will have a lovely fishpond.
Do these people just walk round annoying people for no reason? Just find a hobby and leave your camera at home man
5:40 the woman saying it was very busy at the weekend before. Sort of blows your theory out the window.
OMG, people in business see a camera and instantly shit themselves 🤣
Im surprised its not frozen over by now!
What about access for the residents? Or do they have to take a long detour to get round to the side they want.
They have to go the long way round
Not me - I go through it on my motorbike, no probs.
chizel and hammer will sort it or the local farmer with his tractor to save the fuel
The long way round takes an extra 3 minutes or so.
Long detour? It takes about 60 seconds.
If they've dredged the river what are the concrete blocks for?
use youre head
@@andyg3 Ah! Political correctness!
For someone like yourself who is always concerned about health & safety, now your only worried about your income of your videos 😂
They need to extend the foot bridge in to a road bridge and that would solve all the problems
Yes, not rocket science.
Funny they get around to closing it after the river has just been dredged bit like locking the stable door after the horse has bolted
Fair enough some people will prefer it to be closed, but the local businesses (Mill / cafe etc.) must have capitalised to a large degree. It was perhaps inevitable, but people should see the connection between the road being closed and there being less people about. Sherlock Holmes is not required to work this one out.
The profits of a couple of private enterprises don't trump the rights of residents or public safety. People always use the 'local businesses' excuse as some sort of emotional blackmail to justify antisocial behaviour.
Sherlock holmes is mythical.
No one stood by the ford in their trackies and puffa was taking tea in the cafe. People won’t be put off dropping £20k on a wedding at the mill anymore.
I suspect that mob put more people off than it attracted. I certainly wouldn't have gone while that bunch of chavs were hanging about.
The road signs said closed anyway, its just that people were ignoring the signs.
‘It’s a lovely place which has been spoilt by concrete blocks’
No, it got spoilt by dickheads speeding through in their cars and people thinking it was safe to take their children for a day out on a road. Add in multiple CZcamsrs filming it and posting it online and that would be what spoilt the area.
You were part of this - so to then go in the local business videoing them and stating how quiet it is is quite disrespectful.
Great video pj 😂
I bet the local residents are finally breathing a sigh of relief, lovely area spoiled by crowds and idiots in cars, glad its shut.
Thanks!
I see the put in the Peace Barriers .
Put a 20mph speed camera there that will sort the speeding and it clearly show how deep it is so you've only got the stupidity of the drivers still driving through when it's too deep nothing to do with camera's you get speeding everywhere and there's not people with camera's so it comes down to the driver not a camera
I think the business staff aren’t saying much because they have customers both for and against the ford drivers who can’t control themselves. I haven’t seen any videos where anyones harmed anyone else, but it’s the drivers responsibility how they drive not a camera man.
That place survived before you lot got there filling your boots , they're probably happier now its quiet.
Well said 👍
only in 2022 would a business be happier that its quiet.
What a male Karen 😂
@@bespoke500 Maybe , but at the moment 37 " male Karens" agree with me opposed to 2 that don't.
Well I live near there makes no difference it’s the wildlife that will struggle now with people not going to visit and feed them. So before u speak for the people who live in the area make sure your opinions correct. I’m not happy the already busy A617 crowded now during rush hour will be affected as well as the wildlife and other surrounding areas. Other businesses are now affected as people won’t stop off either side. Wellow and bilsthorpe now having to drive the long way around. Very inconvenient and that cafe is only a decent addition to the area. I guess it’s fine for people to now have a further 20 minutes drive around and affect an already congested and dangerous road. Will they close that if accidents occur there as well.
well they only had to ban about 3 people for dangerous driving, and the issue is sorted, because most drive pretty safe it was just the few what turned up many times and drive reckless like the modded landrover so target them the issue solved
HaHa nice car park lady says at 10:10 "I'm Nesh as it is" Nesh is a local word for feeling the cold.

Nesh = cold in many parts of the country.
@@jonross7593 Nesh locally means that you feel the cold, perhaps more then others do, not cold, as in "Oh you are nesh" it's how the word is used, hope that helps you.

Nice update Pete, My opinion is that I am subscribed, to Tom, Bens, Adamc's, DJ, and your own channel. so over the last year I must have seen a countless number of cars, vans, trucks, bikes, and tractors go through the flooded ford. I have only seen one accident, and that was a geezer on a motorbike not thinking straight for a moment.

In other parts of the world they have these things called bridges. They are amazing things. Been building them since the Roman days

There are fords all over England, many are centuries old. They are small in scale and exist because a bridge would have been economically unviable.

This is quite concerning how most people somehow cannot see why it is so quiet . Fair enough some people do not like being filmed, but the previous busy nature and 'bustling' atmosphere was largely because of the internet / CZcams fame.
