I hated the pixle 3.. With the 6t I feel comfy. The cam and video on the 6t are surprisingly great too. Some shots come out funky but everything on the 6t is better aside from the main camera
I formed that same opinion 3 seconds into the video, the fact that the 6t even keeps up with the IQ is icing on the cake. I just wish it was on the verizon store.

Given I live in Canada and it'll cost me $1129 for the high end pixel with 4/128g compared to $769 for the 8/128g OnePlus 6, ya know? :) Great comparison, enjoyed it immensely!
Wireless charging, Stock Google (From Google), much better camera, dual front facing speakers (enjoy that bottom speaker on OP devices), IP 68 rating, wide angle front camera, it doesn't have the 99cent store back design like OP, unlimited cloud at original quality... Doesn't justify an extra 200 for the Pixel 3? Sure. Ok.

Very fair and balanced review. I've gotta say though, the difference between the two is not as great as one might expect. If you didn't have the images side-by-side, or have them labeled, I think most folks would be hard pressed to tell the which was which. And when it comes to video, the 6T just ran away with it, especially the audio capturing. I don't know what Google was thinking with their noise cancellation, but it's just Way too much to be useful.
6t is just as good. They need to stop with the idea that the pixel is the best camera out there when I see little to no difference. In some samples the 6t was better.
@@rajatpr it's beyond that. I went into Best buy yesterday and compared the pixel to the iPhone xs. Took a photo accross the store. The pixels dynamic range outlined 5 cars through a window in the bottom of the image, along with every light bulb in the ceiling. The text on the boxes had extra contrast to make it easier to read. AI controls the image on the pixel and no other phone can touch that with all the best hardware out there.
@@davelospinoso9022 that's what I am saying, the gcam is a port of the pixel 3 camera and it is available on OnePlus devices. I am using it with the OnePlus 6T and HDR + feature is mind blowing and it comes with every other feature of the pixel 3 camera. I have also compared the gcam image with my pixel 3 xl and it almost blurs the line of those two phones!

Great video and visual comparison. Honestly the audio quality is the most striking difference to me, Google's noise cancellation is way too aggressive (this was true of the Pixel 2 as well) - however, I would say that in certain locations highlighted later in the video, the audio capture seems better/less noisy (obvi) with the Pixel vs the 6t. Image-wise, agreed that the Pixel 3 in general has better pics, but the quality difference isn't obvious unless you're taking pics of people/faces - then Pixel greatly outshines. E.g., what was the 6T doing @3:55? One thing you didn't highlight that I would be curious about is how the two handle zoom detail - from what I've heard the Pixel 3 is supposed to do well with digital zoom, at least to a point. But for your final synopsis, completely agreed - Pixel 3 is best for photos, OnePlus 6T is best for video (and perhaps everything else? :) ) Thanks for this!

Yeah.. pretty crazy difference in audio quality. The ultrawide front camera/vid is definitely the only thing I'm jealous of the Pixel3, it would be awesome in those Skype calls. Great vid!
I've got a OnePlus 6 and disappointed with the OnePlus camera for pictures but with the ported Google/pixel camera software it's so much better. OnePlus need to incorporate pixel image processing into the OnePlus.

@@raghavmahajan1439 then how do you know? With gcam, you only get the pre-programmed algorithm. but the stock camera on pixel devices has access to entire google photo library to match the algorithm on the go. That makes the caliber of Google camera much powerful.

I'd say you got it right. I have a pixel 3 and it takes phenomenal pictures but the videos aren't quite as good as the OnePlus 6t. This was a good, fair review and the night sight more on the pixel 3 is awesome you just didn't include that in your video. Overall good video
On video recording, there is no story, OP 6T is the winner ! For what concern the pictures, during daylight I found that some time is better Pixel 3 and sometime OP 6T; only at nightlight Pixel 3 is the winner... but since you can install on the OP 6T the camera software of the Pixel (yes you can) to get the same performances I think that OP 6T overall is the winner !
Honestly to have a phone made my google both hardware and software there are way too many bugs. I went with the oneplus, after all if you want the pixel camera you can always install the apk and get a pixel like shot (at least something close to it).

I think the pixel has the upper hand overall and definitely shows strength with photos in low light. I can't seem to buy the one plus 6t here in Australia (and if I could, i would probably have bought it if the price was cheaper) instead i went with the 3 XL and really happy with it. I find it amazing with taking photos. Good video. Well done.
I know Australia doesn't offer it, however I got my hands on it, my mate brought it over from Europe. I tried the Pixel 3 XL and it is a real bad phone for me, I used my mate's for 10 days, and I have only 1 good thing to say about it and that is the Night Sight.. that is impressive. other than that. It doesn't feel worth it's money, the gesture control is not on the same level as the iPhone, the other feature that would be cool isn't available in OZ and that's Call Screen. The screen is nice but compare to the XS is not on par, the annoying double swipe up to get to your app tray is annoying. Battery runs out quick! The mic is utter terrible.. and ram management is terrible. it doesn't feel smooth by any stretch of the imagination. I'm biased because I'm an iPhone XS max user an neck deep in the apple products, but I've also purchased the 6T and it feels like it's an better phone, it works smooth, the display is better to my taste and the battery lasts longer. And in regards to the camera, I prefer not to use the fancy AI and algorithms and post process the photo's myself in Lightroom. And by now if I wanted I can install the pixel camera software on the 6t making the pixel 3 completely obsolete.

I just went to a grad tonight and took heaps of photos on my pixel and they turned out better than other phones including the iPhone and Samsung. But to each there own opinion. The 6t is a great phone no doubt. I switched to the GXL3 cause the display is way sharp vivid and the Google integration and call screening. And for most pic camera is stunning.. But I definitely would missed the 6t gesture navigation. Which takes no screen relay. Just hope that Google does something about at least the navigation dark bar at bottom or at least make it transparent or pop up hide it.
Look no further, I use FLUID Navigation Gestures on my GP3XL and it works even better than OnePlus gestures although you dont get the butter animation but aint big deal. Try it out

I think voice recorder on pixel 3 try reduce noise like the wind sound. You can see video recorder on oneplus 6t sound louder than pixek 3 but you can hear noise too
That is exactly what I was thinking. If you've ever taken video on a windy day and experience the aggravation of wind noise drowning out voices, then you would totally appreciate Google's efforts at noise cancellation. I just wonder if it's something you can turn off in settings when you need to.
Pixel 3 camera is nothing special it is all software OnePlus 6t has better camera hardware so what you do is download Pixel 3 camera apk to your OnePlus and you get a better camera experience than pixel 3
Not really, the sensors used in the Pixel 3 may be lower resolution, but they capture more light since they feature larger pixels. This is why all flagship devices have been using 12MP sensors for the past few years.
@@phandroid I just received an update from TMobile today 12/12/2018 and the night mode along with the standard camera mode is better than pixel 3. One plus 6t is kicking ass it's continuous evolving powerhouse for half the price of the so called flagships
@@phandroid actually it also has to do that the pixel has a dedicated chip for processing HDR and quick capture google has talked about it allot that it gives the SD chip a break by not processing the many layers of photos and fusing them together! i wish oneplus would do something like this since they mentioned that they are close with the SD team they should just work on a custom image chip so that oneplus could also have an instant HDR
Why do Google feel the need to give us a dual front camera but insist we only need one on the rear? Given the choice I would much rather have a dual camera on the rear.
6t's video is surprisingly good. I'm currently rocking the 5t and honestly the front camera on it is pretty wack. The improvement is significant on the 6t.
What people have to understand, alot of pixels pictures come out better because of the software and processing of the app. If you try both cameras with the same software eg gcam app, you will notice, you barley could tell the difference. They did a blind test with this and the pixel, most people were shocked they picked the one plus 6t with the gcam app.
One plus 6T Is the way in this moment . For me and price the best are ; €650note 9, €545 p20 pro,€585One plus 6t, €545 s9 plus and mi mix 3 and Xiaomi mi 8 .
In most comparisons I'd say yeah, they're both fine But oh my god, the pictures of people.... the Pixel was HANDS DOWN better in my opinion, like wow, the photos just looked night and day
Looking at buying used so I'm a little late to the party. I had a 3a and now I know why everyone I talked to through it thought my phone was a busted hunk of junk. The audio is truly terrible, especially when it gets coupled with actual signal issues (which is what I always thought the issue was cause phone was new, but Sprint service in my area was awful). Came here for pic and vid comparisons, not sound, but wow, lesson learned. Just get a refurbed 6t and potentially throw the google camera app on it, it appears to do excellent in the camera department and the darn microphone is what makes a phone a phone. How is sound on the pixel 3's so bad, yikes.
Pixel 3 mic isn't that bad on my opinion..maybe a bit too low but you can see at the end of the video that the wind sound is gone on the pixel 3 while on the 6t is very annoying
Considering the price difference, im really proud of 6T, im trying not to be biased because i own a 6T but the mic on pixel 3 is awful. The front cams and wide angle of p3 is gorgeous though
Oneplus 6t is a better option for me. The camera on pixel 3 is a litle better in many situations but, for the price, design and audio quality, 6t wins!!!!

The one plus 6t killed it. Better in almost all the normal shots. Video obviously the 6t won. The one plus actually handles noise much better, exposes the scene better, has more detail and controls highlights better. Pixel has slightly better dynamic range in selfies only. Fail Google.
The 6T is an overal better phone in whereas the Pixel 3 has an okay camera but good software. The question you need to ask is do you really need that camera and software but it fails hard on many other things. recently I've heard you can get the Google pixel 3 software and install it on the 6T. Making the pixel 3 absolutely useless in my opinion. I've tried the Pixel 3XL and it is an scam that they charge you that much for the Pixel 3, they just want to be like Apple and copy whatever they doing including raising prices for phones, well perhaps increase the quality of the phone first before doing that. Now I have the 6T just for fun and to try if I be able to like Android and possibly step over to android. But after 2 weeks I can say that for the moment I will not stopover to android. I'm loving the eco system apple created and all devices sync and connect seamlessly. Now I could use the software from the Pixel 3 so the camera will perform better... but I don't need HDR, being an photographer I automatically adjust my photos to my liking after the shot. I rather have an phone that takes visual boring photos that I can post process later in Lightroom. And in that regards the Pixel actual camera hardware isn't that great. Any flagship phone has better hardware camera than the Pixel 3... they just heavily rely on software to compensate for that. And because of it, it is absolutely not worth my money. They only feature that was clearly impressive on the pixel 3 xl was hands down night sight mode. But it's an software feature not worth to get the whole phone for and getting stuck with the Pixel 3 XL. My main phone is an iPhone XS max, and it can do all the thing just as well. reviewers are nitpicking specs and that's fine. I was willing to spent the huge price tag for the XS max because my last is an 6s so it last a good few years and for that I chose superior build, and most things it does do really well.. and overall that phone is worth for me. And the 6T is like I said an novelty item for me.. but is much better than the Pixel 3

Pixel is great but the Oneplus keeps up and I would go as far as saying they do better video recording.
I agree that the Pixel takes better photos, but the OnePlus 6T trumps in terms of video and sound quality.

For what concern the pictures, during daylight I found that some time is better Pixel 3 and sometime OP 6T; only at nightlight Pixel 3 is the winner... but since you can install on the OP 6T the camera software of the Pixel (yes you can) to get the same performances I think that OP 6T overall is the winner !
Have you tried the pixel camera mod for the OP 6T and tested it against the pixel 3?

Most the shots in this video were taken in San Francisco. The night shots were taken in China Town in San Francisco.
Honestly to have a phone made my google both hardware and software there are way too many bugs. I went with the oneplus, after all if you want the pixel camera you can always install the apk and get a pixel like shot (at least something close to it).
1:13 actually any pixel 3 series lacks a lazer sensor in the camera unit , instead it is present on any of the pixel 2 series..

I think the pixel has the upper hand overall and definitely shows strength with photos in low light. I can't seem to buy the one plus 6t here in Australia (and if I could, i would probably have bought it if the price was cheaper) instead i went with the 3 XL and really happy with it. I find it amazing with taking photos. Good video. Well done.
I know Australia doesn't offer it, however I got my hands on it, my mate brought it over from Europe. I tried the Pixel 3 XL and it is a real bad phone for me, I used my mate's for 10 days, and I have only 1 good thing to say about it and that is the Night Sight.. that is impressive. other than that.
It doesn't feel worth it's money, the gesture control is not on the same level as the iPhone, the other feature that would be cool isn't available in OZ and that's Call Screen. The screen is nice but compare to the XS is not on par, the annoying double swipe up to get to your app tray is annoying. Battery runs out quick! The mic is utter terrible..
and ram management is terrible. it doesn't feel smooth by any stretch of the imagination.
I'm biased because I'm an iPhone XS max user an neck deep in the apple products, but I've also purchased the 6T and it feels like it's an better phone, it works smooth, the display is better to my taste and the battery lasts longer.
And in regards to the camera, I prefer not to use the fancy AI and algorithms and post process the photo's myself in Lightroom. And by now if I wanted I can install the pixel camera software on the 6t making the pixel 3 completely obsolete.

I just went to a grad tonight and took heaps of photos on my pixel and they turned out better than other phones including the iPhone and Samsung. But to each there own opinion. The 6t is a great phone no doubt. I switched to the GXL3 cause the display is way sharp vivid and the Google integration and call screening. And for most pic camera is stunning.. But I definitely would missed the 6t gesture navigation. Which takes no screen relay. Just hope that Google does something about at least the navigation dark bar at bottom or at least make it transparent or pop up hide it.
Look no further, I use FLUID Navigation Gestures on my GP3XL and it works even better than OnePlus gestures although you dont get the butter animation but aint big deal. Try it out

I think voice recorder on pixel 3 try reduce noise like the wind sound. You can see video recorder on oneplus 6t sound louder than pixek 3 but you can hear noise too
That is exactly what I was thinking. If you've ever taken video on a windy day and experience the aggravation of wind noise drowning out voices, then you would totally appreciate Google's efforts at noise cancellation. I just wonder if it's something you can turn off in settings when you need to.

Not really, the sensors used in the Pixel 3 may be lower resolution, but they capture more light since they feature larger pixels. This is why all flagship devices have been using 12MP sensors for the past few years.

@@phandroid I just received an update from TMobile today 12/12/2018 and the night mode along with the standard camera mode is better than pixel 3. One plus 6t is kicking ass it's continuous evolving powerhouse for half the price of the so called flagships
@@phandroid actually it also has to do that the pixel has a dedicated chip for processing HDR and quick capture google has talked about it allot that it gives the SD chip a break by not processing the many layers of photos and fusing them together! i wish oneplus would do something like this since they mentioned that they are close with the SD team they should just work on a custom image chip so that oneplus could also have an instant HDR

Why do Google feel the need to give us a dual front camera but insist we only need one on the rear? Given the choice I would much rather have a dual camera on the rear.
6t's video is surprisingly good. I'm currently rocking the 5t and honestly the front camera on it is pretty wack. The improvement is significant on the 6t.
What people have to understand, alot of pixels pictures come out better because of the software and processing of the app. If you try both cameras with the same software eg gcam app, you will notice, you barley could tell the difference. They did a blind test with this and the pixel, most people were shocked they picked the one plus 6t with the gcam app.
If only they would change the aggressive noise cancellation i would have no complaints with the pixel 3 (own 1 myself), great video as always!

Looking at buying used so I'm a little late to the party. I had a 3a and now I know why everyone I talked to through it thought my phone was a busted hunk of junk. The audio is truly terrible, especially when it gets coupled with actual signal issues (which is what I always thought the issue was cause phone was new, but Sprint service in my area was awful). Came here for pic and vid comparisons, not sound, but wow, lesson learned. Just get a refurbed 6t and potentially throw the google camera app on it, it appears to do excellent in the camera department and the darn microphone is what makes a phone a phone. How is sound on the pixel 3's so bad, yikes.
Pixel 3 mic isn't that bad on my opinion..maybe a bit too low but you can see at the end of the video that the wind sound is gone on the pixel 3 while on the 6t is very annoying

Considering the price difference, im really proud of 6T, im trying not to be biased because i own a 6T but the mic on pixel 3 is awful. The front cams and wide angle of p3 is gorgeous though
its really hard to distinguish the camera quality between the two. And yes uv got a beautiful family..
imo Oneplus 6T and Pixel 3 are very similar, but wide camera and night sight in Pixel 3 wins the comparison

Oneplus 6t is a better option for me. The camera on pixel 3 is a litle better in many situations but, for the price, design and audio quality, 6t wins!!!!
You get less for that price though. The mono speaker is a deal-breaker
@@fightnight14 might be for you.. I can't choose for an pixel that has stereo speaker and for that ruins the design. I mean it's late 2018, 2019 in a few weeks.. for the price of the pixel 3 XL I want an phone that is superior and doesn't compromise like adapting stereo speaker for the price of an chin, and have 2 front facing camera's for the price of the most ugliest notch applied on an phone. And in 2018 I don't want an fingerprint scanner on the back like in 2015. So I got myself the 6T and an XS max.

The one plus 6t killed it. Better in almost all the normal shots. Video obviously the 6t won. The one plus actually handles noise much better, exposes the scene better, has more detail and controls highlights better. Pixel has slightly better dynamic range in selfies only. Fail Google.

The 6T is an overal better phone in whereas the Pixel 3 has an okay camera but good software.
The question you need to ask is do you really need that camera and software but it fails hard on many other things.
recently I've heard you can get the Google pixel 3 software and install it on the 6T.
Making the pixel 3 absolutely useless in my opinion.
I've tried the Pixel 3XL and it is an scam that they charge you that much for the Pixel 3, they just want to be like Apple and copy whatever they doing including raising prices for phones, well perhaps increase the quality of the phone first before doing that.
Now I have the 6T just for fun and to try if I be able to like Android and possibly step over to android. But after 2 weeks I can say that for the moment I will not stopover to android. I'm loving the eco system apple created and all devices sync and connect seamlessly.
Now I could use the software from the Pixel 3 so the camera will perform better... but I don't need HDR, being an photographer I automatically adjust my photos to my liking after the shot. I rather have an phone that takes visual boring photos that I can post process later in Lightroom. And in that regards the Pixel actual camera hardware isn't that great.
Any flagship phone has better hardware camera than the Pixel 3... they just heavily rely on software to compensate for that. And because of it, it is absolutely not worth my money.
They only feature that was clearly impressive on the pixel 3 xl was hands down night sight mode. But it's an software feature not worth to get the whole phone for and getting stuck with the Pixel 3 XL.
My main phone is an iPhone XS max, and it can do all the thing just as well. reviewers are nitpicking specs and that's fine.
I was willing to spent the huge price tag for the XS max because my last is an 6s so it last a good few years and for that I chose superior build, and most things it does do really well.. and overall that phone is worth for me.
And the 6T is like I said an novelty item for me.. but is much better than the Pixel 3
