    Nice. I appreciate your concise detail on what comes in the package and what doesn’t, including the transformer, and how it works together.

    We ended up exchanging this model for the slimmer version czcams.com/users/postUgkx0jZ_lGlDVJhDnmagEU8gn47cmfPNlLQU because it was too wide for the only door trim area that made sense to mount it on. However, we should have just noted the dimensions prior to purchasing. Otherwise, we love the doorbell. It works perfectly, and the video is very clear, even at night.

    Great video. Thanks for the information on the adapter. One question that I do have is did you use both the pigtails from the adapter and pigtails from the battery pack? It does not appear that both sets were connected to the doorbell.

      @@jadamioncole1873 Thank you Mr. Cole. Ultimately, I just needed to know if I needed to install the Pro Power Kit with the adapter or not. After looking at the manual on the internet it indicated that I could just install the adapter without the power kit which I did. I know that you said that not installating the Power Pro Kit may void the warranty but I went ahead and left it out as I did not know where it would fit. Despite leaving the battery pack out the Ring works just fine.

    About time , I'm glad I found this how to video you made because there was not any videos even on CZcams on weather or not the transformer would work in place of the actual wired door bell wiring ! Even Ring will not say if their own wired door bell will work with their own 24volt transformer plug in , makes no sense to me , kept me from buying this damn set up for almost 2 years now !!! I have the 1st generation Ring and having to charge it every month for over 4 years now is a pain ! Now you showed a battery back-up with the Ring on it , does that come with the wired Ring doorbell or is that a separate purchase ? Thanks , Glen a wheelchair bound person in NEED !

    • @GetHookOnDIYVideos
      @GetHookOnDIYVideos  Před rokem

      It comes with the ring pro wired model. After doing some research, the small battery pack is supposed to be like a booster for your transformer if you were were using a transformer.

  • @MarkWilliams-ix1qf
    @MarkWilliams-ix1qf Před 2 lety +2

    Maybe you should have read the directions. The power kit is installed on the chime, and not behind the doorbell itself.

    • @chris23384
      @chris23384 Před 7 měsíci

      the point of the video is if you do not have a chime or do not wish to use the existing one. In my case the 24V transformer is not compatible with the old chime so I will remove the old chime and purchase the wireless one. Bypass the mechanical chime completely

    Not the grammar police coming for you for saying “shime” instead of “chime. Sometimes people pronounce things differently. He could have an accent or their primary language may not have a “ch” sound. It could be a speech impediment, or simply that he is used to a different pronunciation. Get over it. The English language isn’t the only language in the world and hyper focusing on his pronunciation just makes you sound pedantic. He’s just trying to be helpful and that’s what you care about. Take it for what it is. Grow up.

      No bcuz once you link the ring to your account you have to delete it from an existing account. Ring can’t even access the doorbell without approval of the account hold passcode.
