The Ring Video Doorbell is easy to install. If you have integrated doorbell wiring that is compatible with the Ring Video Doorbell, I would suggest that option. If not, there are solar panels for the Ring Video Doorbell and using the battery only and recharging periodically is an option too. Within this video, I install the Ring Video Doorbell on brick beside my front door. I used my existing Doorbell wiring and it works great! #Ring #Howto

What size drill bit did you use? To screw into the brick
I got a call to install a Ring device for a family member and thought I would become familiar with the unit to see what tools to bring; thanks for the video. By the way, when making a loop of wire to go under the screws, ensure the loop of wire is installed clockwise, so the wire loop doesn't open when tightening the screws.

How many times since the first release of the Ring doorbell I have considered buying, still can’t decide
Not sure....I performed my research and this seemed to be the best current offering. There is one that costs over twice as much but I couldn't find the value add beyond slightly better video quality. The video quality and audio quality of this doorbell is exceptional in my opinion and I like the difference color options.
Does this doorbell work with current chime. Or does it need the transformer receiver piece which is extra $
Check the link within this video's description for specific but I know when I set mine up that it gave me the option of using my existing door chime from the old doorbell but I opted out and use my Ring and Alexa devices for the chime.
Install would look better if you had used a level before marking and drilling the mounting holes.
Using a laser level is always good but this one looks super straight.

Yup! I didn't for this installation though, since there were already wires for a doorbell. Ring solar works great! All of my outdoor Ring cameras are solar.
what if I just need it as a camera.
what I mean is where I live there is no doorbell do you know if it works only or strictly as a camera?
I haven’t tested but will say this, in your situation I would just use a Ring camera instead. Why? This is great for a doorbell but a dedicated ring camera is better video quality.
Does the ring doorbell require you to have the chime?
I just use mine with my Amazon Echos

Do we need to charge it everyday??
The ring doorbell that I bought is the wired version, so I do not have to charge it. Some models have to be charged. You can find the on like I use linked within this video’s description.

Way too complicated for me. Good thing I’ve ‘got a guy’ who can do/fix almost anything. Knowing me, I’d have a bag of really important-looking stuff leftover.
Ring is definitely worth it. I’m heavily invested in the Ring ecosystem with doorbell, solar cameras, alarm system, etc. and paired with Amazon Eero for home WiFi it’s incredible!
@@IrixGuy I never said it wasn’t worth it, I just said it was too difficult for me to install (and I’m not even willing to try).
I have to do this kind of stuff because my “guy” is basically helpless. 😂
