A clip from 72 hours long Jan's Banterthon. Fabiano Caruana as best rated US players shows up and plays some nice chess. Go to www.chess24.com to find more like this!
queen to f3 - Knight can't take c3 pawn as there is no benefit. Suppose knight take c3 attacks rook on d1 Rc2 takes knight d1 rook is defended by the queen so black queen can't take d1 rook. Why did he resign there?
@@josefuertes_youtube Is there a Chebanenko semi-slav? Because that move doesn't make a ton of sense. In the Slav you are developing Bf5, before the queenside knight, which leaves the b7 pawn vulnerable to attack by the white queen, so you push a6. In the semi-slav, the queen is behind the pawn chain like in QGD, Ortho. So what is the point of a6?
@@vikramkrishnan6414 In the Slav system when you play Qb3 or cxd5 cxd5 Db3, white have pressure . Minewhile with a6, if white play Db3 black must to play B5!
@@josefuertes_youtube I know why you would play a6 in the Slav, my question is why would you play it in the Semi-Slav, you have not placed your bishop outside the pawn chain, so b7 is defended
Mr. Gostafson won all his poisnts against weak players. Most of gamea he played against 1700 - 2000 reating players. How is the life babe when you play Fabi or Magnus (Salamon) now ?

3:55 "He's attacking stuff." A grandmasterly analysis from Jan Gustafsson. Love it.
"Knight to e4, we already lost?" "No." "Are you sure?" "No."

"Bishops are much more valuable than knights" 3:35 proceeds to trade a Bishop for a Knight.
Bishops are slightly more valuable than knights in a vacuum. But everything is situational.
he was joking...
that was kinda forced at this point

Famous last words: "he's a horrible player"

As of today March 2018, Fab won the Candidate Tournament. So, Jan has just played with the future possible Word Champion here.
Fabi has lost world chess championship to carlsen
And it was in rapid, so shame on Jan to lose so easily
"So sad" with a smile :) that was a good one
"... go active." Plays Bc1 😊😊

3:09 He's a horrible player, he doesn't know that bishops are much more valuable than knights...
...
4:05 - Fabi doesn't think so
you could open a dictionary at the word "irony", it's pretty interesting.
Eric G you could open a dictionary at the word "joke", it's pretty interesting too.
He was joking, nitwit.

That's cool I hope chess player championship should do that it will attract crowds
How'd he lose?
knight block defender (queen) and one rook is going down
badly
Just look at the board lmao
There are wig players and there are weag players..
Pepe Cuenca the best. Pepón.
wow, that was bad. That's what happens to me when I play chess engines. I'm done inside of 30 moves every game, often faster.
he get rid of wig but two moves game endend =)
what about Rook D2?
Mihalis Guitar Channel you mean in the end? It loses the rook doesn't it. :)
knight takes rook .. rook takes knight .. double attack on d5 pawn
I guess when you lose a rook for knight against over 2800 super grandmaster, you don't continue even with double pressure on a... pawn?
I like this comments, when noob think he can overplay a GM
you lose the exchange.
So sad
