Fabi did really well considering he was a clear underdog
Buster Douglas. Chaminade. David. Fabi.
would love to see him on tournaments
Not bad for the third highest elo in history
Fabi was as calm as a light breeze
Like a light breeze that's a slightly weird observation.. but thanks for not comparing him to a Bud light for instance
He is one of my favourite players. He does his best against more talented ( or lucky) players
That's fabi
Thats Fabi for ya
U mean calm af right?! 😂
Mike’s friends are the real trash talkers, except they knocking Mike every chance they can lol
"look he finally developed something" 😂 very funny, great chess.
dose guys were funny as hell!
"hey....you got other pieces!" 😂
Deese jokahs roasted him chru-out dis whole game.
Mike: That doesn't do anything
*gets mated in the next move
lmao
great cheese move
😂😂😂
Lol Fabiano aint huslting anyone, he looks like the exact guy who would be a world class chess GM. It's like letting a guy who's 6'5 "hustle" you in a basketball game
If im not incorrect dude is a two time champion
You can’t tell anything about how good a chess player is based on physical appearance.
@@shaunakkulkarni4679 Nobody who wears glasses named "Fabiano" is below a 2700 elo in chess, it's just science.
@@sullystpatrick Facts lol.
😂
Chess coaches: don't push the pawns in front of your king.
Fabi: Hold my coffee...
On same side castles, isn’t that the ‘best’ way to start an attack on the opponent king? But then again, I’m 800 rating for a reason 😂😂
@@ruiferreira9946, at least, get you center closed for the same-side attack. If your opponents gets to your king first, because you used your defense to attack, you're probably going to lose something.
it depends on your pawn structure and piece placement to decide your plan
He's stronger than coaches even
@@ruiferreira9946 it really depends on the position, but yeah mostly. g4 happens in basically every spanish opening game eventually
4:18 - (To a GM) "Bro, what are you doing? That doesn't do anything."
Meanwhile: Removes threat of Queen attacking Queen
Then delivers checkmate.
Yeah he did it for the premature attackulation
I'm still at that stage that I didn't even consider if it does anything because it sure as hell doesn't seem to lol
Don't you mean bishop attacking queen? I don't see white queen attacking black's
I like Fabino's personality. And never forget he played a bunch of classic time control games against one of the best who ever lived, and they were all tied up at the end of the WCC classic time control portion.
Fabi is a beast. If Magnus doesn't come back to World Cup I think Fabi will get a title at some point
@@mantizshrimpagreed would be cool to see it soon
Fabi is one of the best who ever lived, he’s just not one of the two or three best who ever lived 😅
@@mantizshrimphans is the real goat
I feel like many people don't know just how strong Fabi actually is, happens to be just alive at the same time as Magnus
Mike's "friends" were not helping 😅
What friends are for
Two kinds of friends in this world
"Damn bro, that sucks"
"Damn bro, you suck"
Mike had a real life over the board mouse slip lmao
If a GM doesn’t take your rook when it only costs him a pawn to do so you can safely resign instantly.
Too true. I see these people make moves that make no sense to me, but I know it's because they're just operating at such a higher chess level than me.
this was crazy, props to mike for being part of such a great game
Dude held himself decently against a super GM, props.
He is a top player in the streets of NYC
@@Boruh179forever Fabi is 2nd in the world lol
@@Boruh179foreverBetween streets of New York and top world players there is some gap 😉
@@leszeksokoowski9265 course, but the guy has been famous for a while
Whenever Mike says “this doesn’t do anything”, it’s M1 😂😂😂😂
Mate in 1, classic Mike😂😂😂
I can tell Fabi held back and made more moves then was necessary. It could have been much more devastating with the two pawns being pushed like that cause the white bishop was actually trapped but he didn't push them. It was interesting to see how he used them to open him up instead of pushing the pawns and taking pieces.
"Have you ever played before" - Trash talking is strong in this one!
Damn, that was utter destruction. Nicely done Fabi.
"I've never played chess before, but I'll give you three extra minutes." 😂
What a pleasure to observe the smiling expression of the two players during the match☀️
Mike's Sleeve knocking his own king over during his first move at 0:31 is foreboding
Every time I watch this channel it makes think of what it would be like to have Ben Finegold in one of his silly moods on Coffee Chess.
Astonishing to see top GMs play 1600 coffee shop crowd
Must admit that chess top players nowadays are the most chill professionalls I can think off. Where else You can spot in amateur/random/whatever places sportsman that meet with fans and just play some game.
Carlini, “ don’t take your jacket off Mike”😂
"He might actually be good" got me 🤣
NOT promoting that f2 pawn, and having that same pawn on that same square deliver the checkmate at the end. Wow.
Prime example of the threat being more powerful than the attack... As they explained in the post game analysis.. having that pawn guarding g1 was way more powerful than winning a rook... And says a lot of how gms have a plan from very early once they see weak points on board
"That doesnt do anything"
*mate in one*
Zen chess from Fabi, such a joy to watch.
I love to watch Boston Mike! he's awesome!
It would be awesome to go play chess at a cafe and randomly see one of the best players ever just sitting there. :)
I agree. And I would recognize a lot of them, because I watch a lot of chess on youtube.
3:54 ‘We don’t know’ 😂😂😂😂
Fun channel! But can you please show one video of Mike winning? He always loses. Seems like a good guy and a good player and it would be cool to see him win one.
Innit, dude is playing against a former 2800, like maybe 3/4 people in the world can beat Caruana. I wanna see him against some 2000-2200s
@@georgeoshea9961 At first I read "maybe three quarters of the people in the world" and have to read again to get "three or four people" which makes a lot more sense!
@@georgeoshea9961 funny enough any gm, Im and even FM can beat him it just depends on the game you never know, it’s like you’re saying only Nepo, Ding , Magnus and Alireza can beat him which is ridiculous because you’re only looking at from a rating point of view but at the top level any gm can beat a gm especially if they are caught in a prep or a master studied his prep and try and refute it
@@princeantisocial do you have any idea how many times he’s been beaten or even held to a draw by an IM or FM? Do you know how many wins and few losses against top rated GMs you need to break 2800? When he was at his peak there was only one person in the world that would beat him at classical and he held him to 13 draws. Obviously chess players lose the odd game here and there against lower rated players, but you’re speaking as though it’s so common as to be a banality. Which records will show across the board, it’s not.
@@georgeoshea9961 No I’m not saying it’s common, I’m saying it’s possibly, people always speak on GMs “Super GMs” as if they’re not humans. Even the current world championships is showing lots of hiccups, all I’m saying is that, note that I did not say classical this goes for mostly blitz and bullet I mean we’re watching coffee chess here, is that he’s not unbeatable. Even GMs make mistakes too although very less common and very less likely
"Bro, that doesn't do anything, thank you!"
That's what it'll say in his headstone.
Chess speaks for itself
lol That's his signature go to comment, "what are you doing?, that doesn't do anything!".
Great game.. Interestingly during the opening Fabiano willingly gives up a bishop for a knight but later passes on taking knight for a pawn.. Early mid game BM blunders giving up a bishop on a poorly developed board!! Its a weird game from the beginning and it will end quickly
I think that Boston Mike's blunder sealed the game, I'm not sure what would of changed the outcome here B Mike there wasn't much strategy here he simply went for cornering you on a weak board maybe bringing in a rook might of helped.. I think
I agree my bet is that the next time they meet Boston Mike will win the game
@@monstermashed6266 LOL

Reason I love chess stars. They're rich and famous, but still take time to be humble and sit down with the public.
This Fabi Carvana guy is pretty good
"hey....u got other pieces!"
😂😂😂😂😂
'It's my first time' 🤣
For someone playing for the first time, this is amazing!!
turns out this was not Fabi's first rodeo
The Fantastic Fabiano
Imagine playing someone, who can beat (and has beaten) the best chess players in the world
I love the new look Arnold!
Fabiano gets to play all the biggest legends..
THIS IS THE MOST QUIET AND HUMBLE MATE EVER😢😂
Fabi is so calm
Fabi trying very hard not to embarrass normal humans.
"That don't do nuthin! ohh checkmate lol"
Love this chess channel ❤
Gonna watch the game again to absorb all the talkin' points 😊
- famous last words
that doesn't do anything!
Where is this? I'd like to visit!
Haven’t seen Leo in a while. We need a match between him and Forest.
This is top-level entertainment! :]
1:04 GM Ben Finegold just fell out of his chair.
Not a bad game for first time. Fabi might get good!
Well done Boston Mike
Both have class lol good game
That Fabi guy did really well considering it was his first time playing
Great to see Fabi on Coffee Chess !!
Very cool! I wonder how they get so many great players? They might be paid appearances, doesn't matter I guess. They certainly made a nice niche for themselves as a chess youtube channel. When I first saw their channel, some years ago, it seemed a bit strange to see these (relatively) lower level chess players sorta acting like they were great players, but it's entertaining. And you gotta hand it to them, they are willing to play anyone, and do it with style, even when being very much outmatched. Watched a lot of their videos, so they must be doing something right :) Heck, they are kinda famous now, to people who watch chess online.
its cool to see Fabi wear a Botez merch
A topless Mike vs Fabi would be something to see.
Mikey should have left his jacket on!
Wow! That first-timer has ridiculous talent. If he works hard I bet he could be a world champion contender one day.
Mike’s stares of bewilderment are incomparable
This is the equivalent of saying “Steph Currey hustles man on the basketball court”
If someone is challenging you with HALF THE CLOCK don't even try 😂
Fabiano Caruana vs. Bruce Willis 😂😂
Fabi has a good future in chess.
Qf5 was a nasty move. It was threatening Qe4++, as well as a queen sac on b1 to promote and mate with the rook and bishop. Ouch
Mike getting trash talked by his friends
fabi seems lucky this time
I wanted to say: "can somebody tell Boston Mike he's not against noobs?" :). Then I saw the clock. Apparently he's aware finally.
He knew.. this is just for entertainment
"Have you ever played before?" LOLOLOLOL
I love Mikes banter/shock when he says "you might actually be quite good". Glad it all ended in smiles. Did he know who Fabi was?
I was wondering that myself until I saw the time handicap. He knew
He knew.
No way someone is that good at chess without at least knowing the top players, the number 2 no less.
This is the first time I've ever watched this channel muted. No distractions just watching the moves my way. Looks like I picked a good day for it too. What a crushing!!!
Yea Mike . Nice try way to come in with that Knight Mike Attack. MUCH LOVE YALL !!!! GG Nice try great Knight Mike !!!!!
Love the Botez hoodie on Fabi
Mike seems like a real nice guy.
I'm just happy Mike put a piece accidentally on a LEGAL square for a change. :)
Mike blunders by taking off his cool jacket, demoralizing his solid defending bishop
at 3:15 was better qxf2 ckeck then kh1 knightxc6 rg1 and is over then..
Good friends mike has. Talks all the shit they can, but they help him take his jacket off
All these "hustlers" know exactly who these GMs are. Anybody that plays chess above 1500 level know who they are.
If you don't know Fabiano Caruna, you probably don't follow chess much, agreed. After all, not too long ago, he was playing for the title.
Of course that's why they have a lot more of time on the clock
So true
ah man where was the one more
You've done it again Mike
3:19 - why fabi didn't played Q. f2 ?
“This is what strong players do! They promise trash talk in the title when there was absolutely zero.”
Wher you can buy the hoody Fabiano is wearing?
Where is this place? That is my favorite Chess Set Design. I have 3 different sets, and they all have that same design.
I want him to say "that move does not do anything" to Fabio.
Who was the beautiful curious person in the window behind the board? Can’t believe no one noticed?
Am someone explain?? Why not Queen takes F2, but pawn? I don’t see the reason
One thing j learn which was a big help is when you lose pawns around your Kong replace them with pieces if you can survive the attack usually you win.
Love mikes friends
Come on Fabi, 1 minute time-odds 😏
When you're a super GM you can open the pawns in front of your king, trade your B with K and practically anything your teacher not allowed you to do.
How you doing have you played before so funny 😂😂😂😂 Boston mike
Fabi should have added, "My first time, so maybe you wanna put a small bet on this game?"
