Robert is the guy i enjoy watching most when it comes to pure chess skills in this group of Coffee players☺️
For me its Carl
I admire Fabi's cool composure even after a loss
For sure, a true gentleman.
I believe his "Yeah, sure" after the game was the first and last utterance he ever said in this vid 😂
Wow great game. Robert winning that bishop sent chills up my spine 😱
Dude relax this is just chess
@@makara2711 If a stranger playing a board game sent him chills, just imagine him climaxing.

I think this is the game I and everyone else was waiting for - Great job Robert!
This might be the most impressive win he's ever had on the channel. At the end there was no time advantage left and Fabi had a better position but Robert saw the blunder and instantly punished it for a win.
Robert was losing, and Fabi blundered. Not hard to do, when you start off with 40% of the opponents time. What impresses me more, was that Fabi was making consistently good moves until he made a mistake.
@@prbprb2 Your hero got crushed.
@@prbprb2 It is still impressing considering that FC is a supe GM
@@giangra92 I am not wishing to take away anything from Robert's win. I just encourage people to not take these things out of context. Fabi isn't really my hero, but I do respect that he is like a walking encyclopedia of opening theory.
Robert will be a GM. Cool to see his abilities grow along the way.
Ruthless Robert is definitely a various dangerous opponent for anyone in blitz chess. Well done, Robert!
Has Robert earned his first GM Norm yet?
Also, how's his classical-time strength? So many good young players these days get so caught up in Blitz that they spend too little time really preparing for middle-game play in classical time control.
Why do people talk about GM norms when they watch someone play blitz? That’s like saying the high school basketball star is ready for the nba bc he’s good at free throws
@@mikecantreed well, maybe because winning a blitz game to a top GM might be representative of your level. I'd say it's more like winning a 3-Point contest to a top NBA shooter when you're playing in G League.
@@hazelhumor I agree with you. But don’t forget Fabi gave time odds here.
Blitz will be the norm an a few years anyway. New players are getting stronger and stronger exactly because they play more blitz.
That was crazy, is good watch the greatest players sharing time with fans. Grat video guys.
What a game. One thing about Robert, this game showed his ability to take pressure and defend. Funny when I saw that he took back pawn with his f pawn instead of queen, I was surprised, but on deeper look it made sense. In the end, having that file open won him the game.
can you imagine how happy he must be to win against a super gm? the time odds weren't crazy either, they both had a minute at one point. what a great achievement.
being down 3 minutes against a gm strength player is a huge disadvantage. Thats the only way the IM can hope to win against a super gm
i believe that this is his 2nd W against super GM. he got a dub from Hikaru
The time odds were pretty crazy though? They weren't 1 to 5 minutes, but, in all fairness, only a handful of GMs can give those kinds of time odds to an IM. But 2 to 5 minutes is still a huge disadvantage. Otherwise, Black's position would've just collapsed under time pressure.
@@yonaeb Not the only way, in a blitz a lot depends on your shape and mood. Also anyone sometimes blunders in blitz. Good IM vs GM will have his share of wins on the distance. It can even be mathematically calculated
Magnus is the next step after coffee chess :D
I love how this guy plays. he's phenomenal for his level I feel. in this game he immediatly knew he was in a winning position despite the fact he was losing in the previous move, and he immediatly played the best move with such time pressure. fantastic
Blitz is definitely not Fabi's strong point, but he did win the candidates tournament and achieved world rank #2, really incredible achievements. Fabi was the first American player to compete for the title since Fischer I believe, thanks for taking the USA to the championship! I remember watching it on Twitch it was a blast. Nice game Robert GM title coming your way!
I mean, blitz is definitely not Fabi's strongest format, but he was still giving time odds here.
Fabiano is Italian.

Robert is a BEAST!
Absolutely fantastic game by Robert, a treat to watch and a lot to learn.
Crazy game, hope there's a rematch
Always love the music at the last minute!
Awesome!!!!!! Thanks guys
Put up some more Robert games, thanks 🙏🙏
What's most impressive to me was how quickly Robert took advantage if Fabis misstep. He saw it instantaneously. What a game!
nice game Roberts,, that rook d2 move was awesome
Fabi is such a nice fellow.
DAAAAAAAAAAAAANNNNNNNGGGGG
robert is ready for the GM norms
Wow! Robert that was amazing!
All respect to Caruana. By sitting down at Coffee Chess, he voluntarily takes the risk of losing a game and his reputation. It is so easy to make a little mistake, even if you are much better than your opponent.
Fabiano will not lose any reputation. It's just fun and relaxing. Anyway, it was probably hard for him to concentrate, because he could feel the eyes of a pretty brunette on him.
These are not rated games
I don't think your rep can be damaged when you are playing a ton of games with massive time disadvantages. No one would expect him to win everytime, he is able to make bad mistakes which cost him.
Good spot :)
The only people who would think his reputation is at stake when losing at 5:2 time odds are people who don’t really matter. Anyone that understands the game knows that Robert is too strong an IM to give those time odds to. It’s Fabi practicing. He didn’t lose. He’s smart enough to not care about folks that THINK he did.
@5:26 The Horn of Gondor
man that drumming just reminds me of gear 5
Does Robert have a Fide rating or just USCF? I was trying to look him up on the Fide website but no dice?
oh man Robert coming through with the goods once again
Great win. I think this Robert has also an upper hand in the psychology. Has a great focus and killer instinct. Ruthless :)
Imagine taking down Caruana. Lol Well played kid. The guests on this show are sooo strong. Stars of the future 👍
Caurana its like anggine very acurate
He didn’t. It was a 5:2 time odds game. It’s Fabi practicing. No one is taking down these GM’s on an even playing field.
@@jrock2460 hikaru play 5 : 1 vs brobert
@@dimanhdc1993 Hikaru is one of the best in the world at this time format? Him and Magnus stand clear of the rest,
wow beautiful game! it's amazing, best move with time pressure.
GREAT TRUE STUFF AS ALWAYS, YOUR BIG CANADIAN RUSSIAN BORN FAN
Thanks!
Robert is, without doubt, the strongest regular @ coffee chess.
Wow. That's a super GM Robert beat.
Fabi adopting NY survival disguise. Could be anyone looking like that.
Comments are misleading, Fabi was better the entire game but then made a blunder and lost. You'd think he was outplayed from start to finish judging by these comments.
Yeah ... people are quick to make hyperbolic statements. Fabi was not overly concerned with managing his clock well either. He was in pure casual mode.
Very impressive, even with time odds!
Thanks for starting the game after the intro reel
you should do live video in matches with gm
well done Robert. great style
We all hope one day Robert can become a GM and we can see him battle against the best players !! 🔥
Well done!
The fact that Nakamura managed to win and only lose on time against this guy with 5:1 time odds make me understand how Hikaru it's on another planet in blitz game.
Robert is the player I enjoy watching the most. What a talent!
this was his GM diploma
Rob activo la mirada que robot que tiene… y juega como tal.
That was a great game.
Awesome game!
Great game!
How'd the second game go?
Wow, just wow.😮
Huge time advantage here, but nice playing of course.
yes Robert is back to the league.
Fantastic effort to beat Fabi - even with those huge time odds. Then again, I don't think Fabi was really trying THAT hard. ie. he was trying but in "casual" mode.
I'm stunned.. .

What's the name of the opening, please?
I roasted this kid a few years ago. I was going through a troll phase. I take it back.
That's cool.
Wow! Very nice play Robert! Get some points towards GM for that? 😅
3, brilliant stuff...👍🚬
Fabi dropped to number 7? I follow chess but for some reason, having not seen the rankings recently, this caught me by surprise
Those kids show no respect ! 💪🏼
Well done Robert !!!
WHEN THE HORN BLOWS
Although, 2m vs 5m.
What's with the loud noise playing @5:27?
Excuse me where do you buy your chess boards or chess mats ? I want a baord like that to play with my friends?

Ruthless Aggression...
Damn sound of trumphet......i really thought Rohan army came to attack .. Lord Of The Ring
Great game by Robert!!!!!!!!!
Great game gentlemen!!
Can someone please do me a favor over at coffee chess and ask Robert if he played in an otb tournament in Texas sometime in the last 2 years.
Impressive!
Why do people always post only half the quote? "The hardest game to win is a won game... Unless you consider drawn and lost games, in which case it comes third."
Let’s go! Robert 🎉😊
The woman in the background is in love with the curly guy. Another victory for Fabi.
Boy... Robert has grown to be the most exciting player in the channel. I do NOT say that lightly.
That Knight exchange lost the game for Fabi.
what was the peak elo of carlini ?
Robert is a beast!!
Robert and forest is wat we want to see.. robert is a beast
Fabiano is such a nice guy....
I’m not trying to take anything from him but 5 to 2 minute odds are incredible. Blitz vs bullet
Robert will be an GM in the not too distant future and will play GM Gukesh for the World Championship title in 10 years or more.
Wow kudossssssss
amazing. did hikaru lose once?
You keep forgetting time control deficit... Also, Caruana is not a bullet player at all. He is a classic chess specialist.
Well done but don't forget the 3 min advantage of Robert...😏
Chess is brutal. Fabi was outplaying him and then missed one detail in time trouble and it was over.
Robert is very good as the time trickles down. He tries hard to win
Robert is a monster... Definitely a future champion...
I love watching him dismantle his competition.
Robert vs Magnus pls
Ah-may-zing!!!
Didn’t even start the game yet but I see 5:2 time odds. Against an IM of Robert’s ability, it’s simply a practice run for Fabi.
high shooter vs college shooter
I saw that move before he did it.
No wonder Fabbi lost with all that loud music right when the game got to its critical stage.
Legalise Cariijuana 😂😂
