Great film footage, obviously you took the extra time to get the camera angle right
I recommend that instead of paying that amount of money, you just remove the electronic module from the base (it's super easy) and look at it against the light since the pins where you assemble the harness go down to the green plate and are only soldered on. individual tracks, it is advisable to release them completely, clean the solder plate (tin) and re-solder that will prevent you from making a greater expense and it will be like new. The cost of the materials is 10 dollars. Do it yourself and it will be like new again. .I did it in my 2018 latitude jeep
Yea, opened up the bezel, jiggle the hardness wire a bit, and that also fixed it - so maybe sometimes the problem is the contact.
Question, I have a 2015 that still looks new but the PRNDL bezel looks worn and I really want to replace it. I assume I follow the same steps but I won’t have to remove as much since I’m not digging for the bottom wire connector but just replacing the top? Thank you! Really appreciate how thorough, clear and concise you were in this video.

Hello David, any chance on doing a video for replacing the eight speed rotary switch for dodge ram pick up truck? Numerous times I've gone out to start the truck up put my foot on the brake and the selector switch is stuck in park will not turn. After numerous attempts, it finally going to drive.
Hi and thanks for this info-was there a recall for this? This happened to me just the other day and all the lights lit up on the gear shift panel and I did get the Service Shifter alert on the dashboard. I thought this might have been a transmission problem or something to do with changing the differential fluid.
I just replaced my shifter bezel and wiring harness today on my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. This tutorial is definitely worth watching, excellent instructions! I was really surprised to see the interface between the old wiring harness and the shifter bezel? Doomed to fail? Thank you for your help on this!

Hi Joe, I was not receiving a code on my scanner. The display read service shifter continuously. My Jeep ran perfectly fine, no issues with four wheel drive. I've had issues with my four wheel drive but it was an issue with the Power Transfer Unit (PTU). It might be a faulty signal with your PRND bezel? It's a relatively cheap fix to start with? @@JosephIrizarry-er1uf

Ps... update this worked great , and now I'm actually getting better gas milage and my cherokee is running way better. Used to constantly down shift at the slightest upgrade, now it doesn't. Love this.

Sometimes you can disconnect the battery and reconnect. Typically if the issue is fixed the light will eventually go off and after awhile the code will disappear. Otherwise might be able to get the local parts store to clear it….unless it’s against their policy

The problem is: The backup lights Doesn't work.

why this unit fails ,its only a few leds and some resistors they rust quickly ?

Will this process work to remove the service shifter display on a 2014 Trailhawk 3.2L for error codes U0103-00 and U1465-00? I do not have the error code P1C86-1D.

Yes it will. I just did it myself in 20min and the issue was fixed and I have a 2014 jeep Cherokee

Why remove so much?
All u need to do is pop offprdl bezel,
Pull up slightly on back of black bezel and reach down and unplug.
You're creating too much bs to deal with.
There's also numerous videos that will show you a better efficient way than this video
You do not have to take it apart that much bullshit
